They’re still looking into what happened and are trying to come up with a solution that is fair for everyone. Some people would like the season to end now. The soonest that can happen now would be next Sunday, but they will likely not want to interrupt the Anniversary Event. After that, the soonest would be 2/2.
With the annual Kanai event in March, it would make sense that S34 would start next month. However, with this glitch and situation, it may force the current season to end in April. Even though a season has started in March before, since the two annual events were introduced, they have been reluctant to end a season in those two months. As Pez has said, this was not a planned end. I think the season was scheduled to end on either 2/2 or 2/9 with S34 starting 2/7 or 2/14.
I think the team is aware of this and as soon as they complete their internal investigation, they will share with Pez what they come up with. From there, the options will be laid out, likely the two that I have mentioned plus one or two less obvious, but viable options from the team’s perspective.
After that, it may or may not be put up to a community vote. Typically, this does not happen, but given the unusual circumstances, it is a remote possibility.
Another thing to consider: There have been real life happenings in the area that may have indirectly caused this situation. I only found out about it a short time ago today, so stay tuned…
@Everyone else:
We have yet another problem. I cannot craft a Hellfire Ring. I purchased the 2mill and 5mill plan and both say I already learned the plan. However, the hellfire ring says it needs:
vengeful eye
devil’s fang
writhing spine
I have 11 of each hellfire mat after doing some runs, but can’t craft the ring. The amulet is correct in the crafting dialog. I can’t sell the plans back to the vendor either.
FYI, if you want to know why hellfire ring?
HF ring = 45% EXP
Leoric Crown in the cube and Max Ruby in hat = 41% EXP
RoRG in the cube
Leoric’s signet = 30% EXP
Caine’s Pants and Boots = 50% EXP
Bourne’s Chest and Shoulder = 20% EXP
Custerian bracers = gold = EXP
Total = 186% bonus EXP
Take a level 1, equip the items and setup the cube, pop 10x T-16 caches. This should put the fresh char, near, or above level 60.
Do you have inside information?
I like your positive thinking here, but there has been no communication whatsoever from Blizzard, so there is no reason to believe anyone is working on this issue or a solution for it at all.
I think the best assumption now is that nobody cares about this game, and the season will end in 1.5 weeks or whenever really, and that the new season will start Friday after that.
If anyone did care the least they could do is give a status update of any kind.
No, but I have a very good memory which allows me to make inferred statements that may help in making a compromise that could help everyone.
Your statement that nobody cares about the game would be incorrect. There are those that worked on D3 for months or years that currently work on other company and/or franchise products that can be consulted in trying to come up with a workable solution.
There is a reason it’s taking as long as it is. It may be that this is a unique situation and there are variables that we don’t know about. We all know that when it comes to communication, the company doesn’t do well. My hope is that, due to the considerable resources being used (I think), a statement will be released when everything is completed to the satisfaction of everyone involved.
Sent Blizzard a support ticket and they got back to me. Here’s the copy paste from the email I received.
This is Game Master Naesearred.
After having investigated your situation, our developers are already working on a fix for Season 33 having ended earlier than intended and they have posted updates on both of the posts that I will link below:
Currently, we do not have a workaround or resolution that can be provided for players that have already used their 3 Rollbacks and I ask that you wait a bit longer until the development team can provide a solution for this.
I know this is a different answer than the one you were hoping to receive, however I hope that this is fixed as soon as possible. If any other questions arise, feel free to contact us through our support channels.
Have a wonderful day and take care.

With my rollback, I got altar, artisans, mats, gems and stash as they were before non-season merger took place. Only lost 1 tragoul’s ancient chest that was an upgrade out of it all.
It’d be nice to see some evidence when people are saying getting paragon lvl 1 increases your stats in that game beyond paragon level 1. Or when people have said blizzard is continuing to work to resolve this? Any sources or should I keep assuming that everyone is trolling or crying wolf for whatever reason?
These things do take time. I’m not sure that even Friday would be when we receive an answer. This is due to the sheer amount of data that has to be found. Of course, they could take the last snapshot accessible before the server shut down, but as there was no warning save for the Server Shutdown notice… It’s likely some players didn’t see it or believe it and they were unceremoniously booted.
It’s that data that’s the trickiest to locate, since the switch to non-season has it’s own mechanic.
I’m sorry - where is this “rollback” option? I’m in the boat where all my seasonal gear from stash was pushed to nonseason. I’d much rather restore my seasonal and nonseason split than keep rebuilding (with only the gear I had on during the season ending surprise).
Where are the links or is the information on this rollback option? I have not seen anything about this in-game. I saw a link (can’t find it now) to restore “hacked” accounts but that doesn’t seem applicable.
Make sure you really need this (as there are 3 rollbacks in total allowed per account), and if you decide to use it, make sure to select restoration point prior to January 5th 5pm PST (i.e. before the season ended).
That was my primary concern about the rollback. The old restrictions: hardcapping mats at 500 each. Good to know.
Don’t really mind eating a rollback, it’s the potential loss of hours of visions farming that was the sticking point.
Thx for the scoop.
There are two versions. The one with the EXP needs the level 60 version of the mats.
Note, the ring you mentioned only requires 3 mats. Or did you not catch that? Those 3 mats are level 60 mats.
Where those runs at level 70? Did you use a level 60 machine? There are significant differences here. You can only get a level 60 machine from a level 60 keywarden now. You used to have to get parts and make a machine. Level 70 keywardens only drop level 70 machines, which gives you 4 parts for only level 70 hellfire rings and amulets.
They haven’t said anything yet. It could end at the late January or go further than that into the February. Thinking some people got a full reset, we can even talk about another three month cycle just because of this “misstep”.
And this is why you should NOT waste roll backs, nor goad people into it.
Got a positive update to the ‘had no non-season chars and seemingly lost all items/mats/gold/keys in season ping pong’ issue…
As posted in the other thread… just for awareness here: If that happens to you, try creating a non-season char after the fact. Log back in the next day or so (might work faster too… dunno) and you might see the non-season char now received the missing item-mails as well as gold, mats, keys. Yippee.
/edit: I did not trigger the recovery option after all.
I did NOT get the mats from a keywarden or Uber kill. I have only the RoS mats from Ubers. The Jeweler’s UI was requiring the old mats. I have both HF ring recipe books purchased but I can NOT apply either of the books to the Jeweler. All artisans were max training rank when I visited the jeweler to craft. So, when I open the Jeweler dialog box and select “Forge Jewelry”, I only have 4 Hellfire ring options that require the old mats. Selecting “show all” in the dialog has no effect. Exiting the game completely and relaunching the game has no effect. I have 11 regret, putridness, terror, and fright.
The Hellfire amulet craft options require the RoS mats and I can craft those.
So you are not seeing the hellfire with the Lava skill? The 4 that you are seeing are the level 60 version, which require the level 60 mats which you don’t have. Those are for each main stat I think and all of those launch a fireball vs a lava pool that the newer rings do.
You cannot craft those, unless you have level 60 mats from level 60 ubers.
So to sum up:
You need to craft a level 70 ring.
You stated you bought both ring plans (level 60 and level 70) but are unable to train either one to the jeweler.
And showing all items to craft regardless whether you have mats or not are not showing the level 70 ring?
That is… Odd. The only thing I can think to ask here is…
Is the artisan fully leveled to 12? Never mind, you said it was.
Are you level 70?
Those two things could affect it…? Maybe?
I was just in and checked, mine looks normal. I had to buy the plans and add them, but they work or seem to.
Yes it is very odd. Before the season ended I had max artisans, I had the level 70 Hellfire ring and amulet plans trained, and I crafted both the ring and amulet.
