Season 31: Season of the Forbidden Archives – Has Concluded

Yes, I can see those too. What I wanted to say is that I think it’s a shame that the set filters on the leaderboards don’t work retroactively, so that one can easily see how each set was played in the seasons that preceded S23. (sorry if I wasn’t clear in my previous message.)

Aside from the seasonal theme, which is nice, I was hoping to see some balance changes. S30 put 5 necromancer builds on S-tier and another 5 on A-tier while Witch Doctor had no S-tier build, and Demon hunters and Barbs had barely 1. This disparity will be even worse in S31 (and one of the next seasons with the 4th slot), since Necromancers can add 2-3 different weapon multipliers in the cube making them once again the strongest class by a mile. Maybe a few days before the start of the season they will undo some of the past WD nerfs. Looking back at all the latest patches and how they proclaimed they changed some sets and items in favor of balance, I don’t understand how 1 class can be 10 times stronger than another and call it “balance”. It’s either they blatantly lied, or they had no idea about what they were doing.

As Blizzard just closed the thread asking for this, without any comment, it doesn’t look likely. They’re just hoping we shut up about it, I guess.

It’s a shame it’s not there… feels bad playing NS now without all the QoL stuff we get from altar… the damage etc they could remove.

Considering all the top build nerfs that came with the last patch, the damage buffs from the Altar could stay and it will only bring us back to the status quo in NS.

If they never intended for the Altar to go to NS, it was really poor design to integrate so much QoL with power creep.

As it is, I’ll probably set up my NS stash and characters in a way that I can just jump in in the future for the odd game when I feel like some D3 but I won’t be playing as regularly as I have been over the past 10yrs.

Definitely looks that way. Though, the only way I’ll shut up about it is if I stop being a Blizzard customer.

As it turns out, Blizzard was right about one thing… I’m gaming on my phone more these days. It’s just not their games

That theme should have been combined with fourth cube slot, then I’d have considered giving it a go. But as things stand so does my decision - same as S30: I won’t play S31.

So still no altar for non season. Really dissappointing

I looked at the Season 20 softcore leaderboard that had the Forbidden Archive theme. Omly 1 player solo cleared GR150 in the America region. It was on a Witch Doctor.

That observation speaks to the subsequent power creep.

Nonseason haven’t forgotten about the altar.

But Blizzard have, so it’s moot.

I don’t want season 30 to be over yet. :expressionless:

If Sunday the 7th is the ending date, you still have almost 240 hours to go. Time to grab some Mountain Dew and Pixie Sticks.

I don’t care either way… seasons come and go but I won’t touch this game unless I read

“the Altar of Rites is now available outside seasonal mode”

or

“we are introducing [cosmetic x]”
i.e. something I don’t have already - and I have all except S4 portrait frames

Seeing either in the patch notes would do.

I always hated seasons and nothing but new cosmetics would make me play seasonal ever again. Bringing back boring and underwhelming themes (like S31) only makes it less appealing for me. Since new cosmetics won’t happen there’s only non-seasonal for me and unless the Altar makes it there, I see no point wasting time with this stagnating, unrewarding and rotting fun-killer mode.

 that D3 still getting something new over D2R at this moment.

It is unexpected that there are 2 new cosmetics to get in S31. Now i have to find some time to clear the S31 seasonal journal.

What 2 new Cosmetics? (Based on your emojis, I’m assuming this was a joke wrapped in sarcasm).

Season 19: Two new Cosmetic Rewards

It is not. I really thought it was a new cosmetic though as I can’t remember I had those.

but two new cosmetic rewards for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey.

It is because of this post, plus I was too lazy to login d3 to check for myself either when I made that post at that time.

Oh well, thanks for the clarification, and it seems I have no reason to come back to S31 either. Back to Immortal then!

Season 31 theme is obsolete. Hope they will see that and atleast bring the 4th cube thing👍I don’t see many builds that will benefit from it except Necro

I agree, S31 will be very underwhelming compared to S30 theme.

But knowing Blizz, this is what we gonna get…
