In the world where you run Vaults on a level 5 hero at T6, so you get 1-2 ethereals each run. You farm bloodshards on your main hero, and spend them on a level 31 hero at Kadala on rings, because there are only three possible legendary rings at that level, so you’ll get plenty of Puzzle Rings to make the Vaults with. Once you have enough Puzzle Rings, you can get the 18 off-class ethereals in the space of 1-2 hours.

I haven’t even done what Meteorblade mentioned, and I’m only missing 7-8 of them from playing mostly one character and grinding rifts/grifts. They’re not SUPER hard to obtain and you can just do the vault trick on new alts to finish any you’re missing.
I didn’t do any gimmicky farming methods, just normal gameplay as usual and finished collecting all ethereals last Sunday. It’s all RNG.
Those gimmicky farming methods are perfectly viable and even recommended if you’re struggling. But they are not necessary to use.

Ethereals only drop in Seasonal play, and will not transfer to your non-seasonal character when the season ends
Meh, lost me there. I like D3, and seasons, but not enough to grind through limited content in hopes of finding items I just have to give back in a couple months.

How many ethereals per vault would you get with a lvl 70 character on TXVI?
[ edit: Also, not exactly true, re your note. I just ran 2 vaults with a lvl 5 seasonal barb on T6 and got zero ethereals total. ]
The ethereal items are supposed to be super rare right…finding one for a level 8 demon hunter on normal should happen…cause it did.
Some people get them as soon as they start the game. Others did not get one until they were almost finished with the season. I had my first one at paragon 520, go figure.
Season 24 Patch 2.7.1a is now live. The update includes a fix to address stability/performance issues and a compliance update that does not affect the player experience. No balance updates or item changes have been applied at this time.

There are various strategies being deployed around to get less lag/freezes:
- Exit battle.net app
- Disable sound and put a different driver in.
- lower the # of sound channels if disabling sound is unwanted
- Affinity of the D3 process in taskmanager to CPU 0 + 1
- Disabling Area Damage in parties on all but 1 player
and other solutions I might have missed.
Could you tell which of those became obsolete?

On another note:
I would also would like confirmation on which of the workarounds to the lag / freezes are no longer required. Would really love to play with sound effects back ON again.

GJ on the stability patch guys. I literally could not play with firebird wizards without getting hard freezes. I got 2k paragon soloing lol. Played like 10 games with 2 wizards and a DH and was smooth as silk.
Don’t get me wrong, I like my speed 125s with the monk, but its more fun to play with others.

Did you also experience sound issues where you had to disable sound by swapping fmodex.dll files to get rid of freezes?
