If you dont want to play Diablo 2 why are you here ? D2 is enigma and greif those are core of the gameplay and that it please stop asking for modded d2 things if you want to play modded D2 go for it there is alot of mod that did that already

Since it was meant as a bot protection and to reduce the server load they might be able to get rid of this system with the transfer to modern B-Net.

I’ve found those runes in that time, theres a difference between doing what you know and knowing what you’re doing.

Also runewords should be rare, not every other person having them

Kind of a harsh response. Because I feel some runewords are broken I shouldn’t play D2? It’s just an opinion, something I feel was a mistake way back in 1.10.

Saying Enigma and Grief are core to D2 gameplay is a problem in my opinion. If changing even one of these ruins the core of Diablo 2, I feel your perspective is skewed.

Me bringing up the modding community is just saying that it’s not like this is the rambling of a single madman.

If they change drop-rates and/or nerf iconic items/runewords, then they might as well can the whole project.

People ruined D3, by demanding items to rain from the sky, which has turned D3 into the laughing stock of the ARPG genre. No thank you.

I played this game for 20 year i played Meridian xl and many other mods so if you think i talk out of my butt i dont they are core of gameplay of 1.10 + they sould not be nerf or change diablo 2 is diablo 2 and its a remake not a rethink everything

Not sure why the D3 thing is relevant, I haven’t asked anything of the sort. In fact it is more the opposite.

I didn’t really say you were. I just disagree with your perspective.

They cant “nerf” or remove items like enigma, grief, infinity etc. because those items are THE end-game-items to get for many builds. Its literally those runewords and uniques that make people grind day and night in order to obtain these items. If you take that away, you eliminate the reason to play D2 for a huge portion of D2 fans.

I agree Enigma was a mistake, but I don’t expect major changes or removals of items. It was a mistake made too long ago to change now.

In another thread I mentioned maybe they should do what Path of Exile does with private leagues where people can create their own season where you can pick a specific patch and possibly some modifers. IE: people could start their own 1.09 season/league if they wanted to.

They could get a lot more out of D2R with a system like that. Possibly if you get enough people to sign up to a potential custom season it could become an open public thing.

lol that would be a qol change for sure XD, alsmost i onyl really over got it when trying to find a specific ip i knew was going to walk when anni farming… bust luckly we had a time program to do that and wait out the time limit between games.
i always found it ironic how much easier it is for a bot to not get r/d,than it is a human to not get r/d on accident.

What I find mind-bogglingly hilarious is that people like you complain about items like Enigma and Grief, but never mention anything about Stealth/Spirit/Insight.

Stealth can be obtained midway through Act 1 normal with a couple countess runs, and buying a 2os armor from Charsi. It can take you a long way on a caster before you actually find an upgrade.

Spirit Sword/Insight can be obtained before you even get to Nightmare if the runes drop on the way. If they don’t, you can do a couple NM countess runs and you have it.

To get a Spirit Monarch, all you have to do is find a white Monarch (which can be found in Hell Act 1) and socket it, then you have a shield/sword that give better stats than most uniques in the game at the cost of dirt.

Enigma is an end-game item and it makes it fair for every class to have access to Teleport, and it is ultimately a build-enabling item which is extremely difficult to get considering how long it takes to obtain the runes and a nice base for it.

Grief needs to have another high rune to make it, asides from that it’s another end-game item for melee builds.

Hello again, TOPCommander, good to see another dedicated D2 fan here with me. I read your posts all the time when we were on the D3 forums. It’s been a while.

And it failed miserably at that. Only ended up hurting legitimate players more. lmao

Grief is hilariously OP. Strongest melee weapon RW by far and it costs almost nothing. One LO rune…

Why even bother building Botd or others? Why are all uniques and sets SO weak in comparison?

If you play diablo 2 right now go try and seriously drop rate are not that bad you will find a ber probably on the first 2 week of play if you play lets say 6hr a day and leveling to 80 in that 2 week too

So about 80 hours of play to get a single high rune.

I will probably only get 80 hours of play in a whole season.

sry for you if your not playing alot you might want to try an other game this game is old and made so peole that play alot get better then pepole who play less sry or play in non ladder you will have infinite amount of time to build ur char there

No, more like 24 hours, because people will play in 8 players groups for 24 hrs straight and there are most likely going to be groups which find the runes.

Man I forgot about this, I feel like I have forgotten more about the game than I remember. So many questions we need answered.
