Idk about all of them, but dbrunski and llama know diablo 2 very well. Listening to experienced players is a better idea than listening to randoms that know hardly anything.
They don’t make changes though based solely on any streamers hopefully though. Anyone can be wrong.
Llama has yet to offer a reason why the suggested ploot system shouldn’t be implemented. He only explained why an instanced loot system shouldn’t. Which is irrelevant to anything being discussed.
Because all slow clickers would want to play the ploot option, again for reasons discussed in this thread. Not sure why that’s not clicking for you. That’s why it shouldn’t be optional.
Well, instanced loot is where everyone gets a different drop from each monster that only they see. What’s being suggested is that the same loot drops in a game, like it does now. The only difference being that each item is randomly assigned to a player for 2-10 seconds or whatever, then it reverts to regular FFA loot.
He didn’t address that. He addressed how instanced loot shouldn’t be added; like D3’s loot style.
What if they prefer FFA loot because of the excitement?
What if their friends are playing FFA loot?
What if they dont even see the ploot option becuase FFA loot is the default?
It is highly unlikely that all slow clickers would play ploot.
I agree that FFA loot is more exciting than ploot and is one of the reasons D3 is stale. Some slow clickers would play FFA loot, but I’m saying all slow clcikers would prefer or want ploot. I haven’t seen one person say “I am a slow clicker and never get drops, but prefer FFA loot.” If you have seen otherwise please provide evidence. I got drops fine in the multiplayer beta.
The point is if all slow clickers want ploot that will drastically affect how well I can get items in FFA loot. It should not be optional.
It is wrong and since you act like a know it all on the forums I’ll explain how it works an how you’re way off cause you don’t know what you’re talking about.
8 player game: chance to assign loot 0.125 chance to assign random number of drops 100,000,000 run it an the results are the following : player 1 80%, player 2: 15%, player 3: 3%, player 4: .62 , player 5: .12 , player 6: .024 , player 7 .0004 player 8 .00096 You always get something, but it’s completely random. There is no equal 1/8 or 12.5% loot allocation over infinite number of games in fact these odds can apply infinitely cause it’s random. To many people watched Ryhkker stream where he incorrectly explains how allocation works. It’s random generated numbers not a set amount therefore can infinitely be one sided.
I am a slower clicker and never get drops, but I prefer FFA loot.
Does that help?
I rarely got good loot in baal runs over the years, I never really cared though because the loot was not why I was there. In more casual multiplayer games FFA was more fun because we could all see things that dropped and get excited. Mad sometimes as well. It was fun times all around.
Thank you for your honesty. Ploot as an optional setting would affect my experience as I would more likely be playing with fast clickers and get fewer drops as a result.
I also rarely got good loot in multiplayer games over the years even though I consider myself a fast clicker. Good loot in general is rare, especially in multiplayer Baal runs.
It might, it might not, most people who i have talked to that would use ploot would prefer to stay in private games in a ffa only system.
But in the case that you lose a few slower clickers it’s kind of like going to the store and seeing Accessible Parking Spaces yes you lose a few spots at the front to them but you are providing a feature that improves/provides access to people.
I mean you can be against Accessible Parking Spaces or ramps on buildings because then there could be more people in line at whatever government building you are going to but i think it’s fair to say that it is still the morally right thing to do.
The morally right thing to do in real life maybe, but in a video game? The whole point isn’t to change a remaster too much. Diablo 3 and Diablo 4 will have ploot only.
but diablo 3 and diablo 4 are not diablo 2 and that is obvious to everyone there is no game quite like diablo 2 i have looked for 21 years but always come back to it and having a few less slow clickers every who knows how many games is not going to change stuff enough to be worth keeping a terrible multiplayer experience for people with disabilities.
You realize that your numbers are off. That website is not accurate as D3 uses servers across the world. Moreover that was a snapshot at one time. Needless to say, the estimate is not even how many unique players per day.
Only Blizzard knows those numbers. We know that Blizzard has 26 million MAUs. If D3 accounts for only 5%, that means that still means 1.3 million MAU and not your claim of 15,000.
oh boy is someone using that stupid playercounter site as some kind of evidence?
It would be but even that’s still better than what it is. It is just a random number generator that works within a parameter set by whoever made the site.
So you admit it also affects my experience in the game even if it was an option. This issue clearly matters to both of us a lot so that’s why Blizzard is making Diablo 4 at the same time as a remaster.
