Was yours on expansion? There was only 1 Necro in 1.09 on Classic afaik and his name was Gewun 
someone might have leveled a 97-98 in nl to 99 afterwards but I doubt it.
There were too many 99s in LoD to have a list.
Name was certainly not Gewun heh, I had simpler names, like sorc was EleMentalCase from pretty much launch⌠It might have been bonemancer, Iâd know if I saw it whether it is something I would do or not but not whether it was me or not. Memory

Iâm going to go ahead and guess your Necro was LoD 1.09 or 1.10, would help if I knew what year approximately, but if it was lvl 99 it was almost certainly 1.09 or post 1.09 LoD.
There just werenât a lot of necros and zons past lvl 95. Laupooh and Gewun were the first on west for nec /zon , and I think 1 zon on Europe and that was it for 1.09⌠there was a partial list on the old dii forums but it wasnât complete.
Was missing Lau, at least.

Still didnât mind it, but quickly was not a goal and I would base my skill calculations on mid 90âs, as far as planning a builds maths.

Yeah almost all my classic chars would end up 88-91, I figured that was good enough for PvP. There was the odd build Iâd hit 92/93ish on like BvBs but I liked leveling new chars to ever hit 95 myself. I did enjoy pre opening games to help the ones that hit 99 though it was a lot of fun to be a part of.
I donât get it either. I could easily log in and play vanilla D2 if I wanted. Sure, just the new graphics would be sweet, but thereâs no reason they shouldnât update the game further. Just think of it as a new patch.

The Graphics are out dated. Yes that is true.
Diablo IIâs game mechanics are not out dated.
You are too young and have a lack of understanding that would be fixed if you had played D2 for year after year and become in love with it.
There is no other game anywhere in this world or out in space as awesome as Diablo II.
Please go try to mess up some other game and enjoy your self to your hearts content!

Nonsense. A lot of the mechanics are and have been outdated for quite a while. Just because you donât mind them, doesnât mean they arenât outdated. Even from the very beginning of D2 I saw that some things couldâve been better. I also love how you tools keep using that garbage âYou just donât understandâ comments. Youâre just gatekeeping and itâs really that simple. Iâd argue that youâre just stuck in your ways and donât understand even basic game design if you think D2 is now or ever has been a perfect game.
what ones do you think are outdated and should be replaced? Just wondering.

We are paying for the same game with new graphics and higher resolution, who on earth would go play this in 4:3 800x600 with old graphics cmon⌠Itâs worth it stop whining or play PD2 with crap graphics and maps.

Supporting other screen aspect ratios do change the game (what you can see/attack, monster aggro, where you can teleport, battle tactics, PvP, PvM)
How does that make it outdated? If anything that shows it scales well.
Does it give advantages, yes. Should those advantages be changed, yes. Those are balance changes not an outdated mechanic.
There is nothing in the game mechanic wise that is completely outdated. The gird system maybe maybe but, even that is a stretch. Inconvenient and annoying yes. But, the mechanics of the game are fine. What people want is a more convenient and less annoying way of doing everything. That doesnât mean the mechanic is bad. It means you have to do things.
If the mechanics were broken people would only play one character, with 1 or 2 sets of items and walk all over everything doing 3-4 times the damage of everything else. Or you would walk out into the area and everything would die. All you would have to do to win is move around.
I didnât say the mechanic is outdated. I simply pointed out by updating the graphics to modern screen aspect ratios that did affect game mechanics. It was a fairly narrow point that I was trying to make.
Sure as hell sounds like double speak to me, not a thin line thanks for explaining.

If you find it funny that ur getting an old game with new graphics and without 4:3 aspect ratio, then get out of this forum u pleb. Cant you just accept that it will be visually pleasing for everyone to experience this game with our high end gaming and computers + monitors compared to back in the day when we had a tank for a screen CRT style and played diablo with a 56k modem or isdn connection⌠I mean djeez did u even play d2 back in the day? Atleast u can play pd2 fullscreen with old graphics and stuff but heey keep whining on. Remastered with a few Qol changes yes please thanks RIP. It would be awesome if they made an expansion on top of LoD though in 1-2 years aslong as it is Diablo 2 and not diablo 3 or 4 because grown ups gotta be pleased you know
