GoD6 Buff Feedback after Patch 2

The devs missed the mark. What were you guys trying to accomplish with these paltry GoD6 buffs? If your goal was to make Demon Hunters abandon their class, you have succeeded.

You are not seeing eye-to-eye with this community. You’ve made our top build D-Tier, and you’ve destroyed our A-Tier builds in the process. You cannot take a build from Nerf-Tier to D-Tier and expect us to be understanding – IT IS NOT OKAY.

The truth of the matter is that you were given exact advice for making a proper fix several times, Iria packaged it up, he offered many solutions, some might say too many, you picked Solution #7 and half-baked it.

The following post, by yours truly, advocated for Solution #1, make the 6pc bonus 40,000%.

Instead, you raise the pierce count to 3 and increasing the 6pc set to 15,000%.

The build barely cleared GR129 on PTR. You buff it by 5GRs, barely GR134 at 5k paragon. And there you have it — DH can no longer solo higher than GR134. The build is now in the same bracket as S6 Impale, WOW, the exact build we asked for 5GRs more of power, 2 patches ago – that you still never delivered on.

HUNGERING ARROW IS UNSATISFYING
The whole build dynamic changed for the worse. Previously, you would herd trash and melt it. Now… you try not to lose your Squirts bonus for the entire rift and watch stuff slowly get erased, bit by bit. All that matters is that you get served high progress trash, there is no reward for grouping mobs. All you do is strafe and avoid damage, and try to go into an oculus ring on cold cycle. There is no offensive. It’s boring – and because it’s so weak I’d say extremely unsatisfying.

THE BUILD DIVERSITY WENT OUT THE WINDOW
Previously, it made sense to use items like Ess of Johan and Valla’s, now Squirts and Fortress are the default because of this ridiculous pierce cap.

Demon Hunters, please tell these devs what you think about playing a D-Tier build next season. They need to know how you feel about your rate of paragon getting cut in half and your max clear going down by 8-9GRs.

As of today’s March 4th patch, GoD6 Hungering Arrow is now 5-6GRs stronger than the Feb 25th patch release, it needed to be 9-10 Tiers stronger.

HOW TO SALVAGE THIS
Revert Ninth Cirri Satchel back to 2-pierces, increase the 6pc bonus to 40,000%. I say this because you can regain that herd-and-melt feel with Bolas, but if you’re into crawling through the map with just enough density, Hungering Arrow will do the job. Both skills will be evenly balanced at GR138-139.

Thankfully, I have a Crusader to fall back on, a class that has several builds that can solo clear GR140+ @ 5K paragon, unlike the pitiful Demon Hunter you’re setting us up to play.

I would prefer increasing cap to 8 or 9 rather than change GoD6 multiplier. Piercing is the soul of HA. If cap it to 3, what’s the point of 100% piece?

Make it viable and keep the soul.

Yeah, the complicated suggestions in the primary post about PTR1.0 feedback was a mistake. They should just remove missile dampening or allow hungering arrow to ignore its effects. Simple plain solutions that address the MD + HA interaction.

The most straightforward way to get back to the herd-and-melt gameplay is to use Bolas, which really needed 40k% to be competitive.

I am not sure how 8-9 pierces would feel, probably better than 3.

I was waiting for this patch right when it released and wen’t wait what? 3 pierces only? 5000 more damage this isn’t near enough.

They increase the set bonus by measly 50% and expect it to encourage players to play other primary skills, hahaha very funny. :poop:

Upon checking this thread, I went straight to the PTR 2.7.0 Patch Notes and saw the paltry sum of ‘adjustments’ they made to both the GoD set and NCS.

Safe to say, this was laughable. Increase GoD’s 6-piece by a measly 50% bonus damage? Increased NCS’s HA pierce from 2 per target to 3?

What in the lord’s name were the devs trying to accomplish here? A band-aid solution to A band-aid solution?

You are 15,000- err, 50,000% correct, which is pretty much what the set bonus should be. For what it’s worth, I completely support your message.

Exact same wording me and mate are talking about in discord about this update. What are they thinking this a fix? This is barley a band-aid.

Well stated and thought out by the author of this thread with stats to show how pitiful the update is. Blizztard is only favoring one class, thats the necromancer. They keep screwing the DH into the ground. The DH must continue to be competitive with the upcoming patch.

Thanks for nothing devs, once again you proved you don’t give a F about your community and do whatever you like.

It was said multiple times that the 6 pieces bonus were supposed to be increased to 40,000% if you make hungerring arrow only pierce max 2 or 3 times and you did what?! increased it to a laughable 15,000%?! :man_facepalming:

Thank you for all the other nerfs to the WD and the new redesigned Rathma or Firebird set too, you convienced me that I won’t be getting D2R, cause you will be doing the same things there too and RUIN every single runeword or even skills too, by nerfing it to the ground everytime someone will cry on the forums how it’s overpowered, so yeah I’ll stick to my outdated, ugly pixelated D2 LoD without having to worry about destroying my favourite unique items or runewords…

Wouldn’t surprise if 8 players in multiplayer in D2R would be changed to 4, cause servers won’t be able to handle it too after release… :roll_eyes:

Thanks for making this thread dmkt. I will make a list of suggestions on how to fix the situation that you can edit into your post. This saves me the trouble of making a new GoD DH Rework thread!

Edit: Actually, I will make a separate thread, I don’t want to detract from the points made in the OP . My thread will specifically aim to list the issues and possible solutions going forward and not discuss sentiment as much.

Thanks for the work and everyone replying on this I’ve never been so active on the ptr forums since all of this. There has to be some medium ground we can work with to me it’s 5-10 perices on quiver and 20,0000 more dmg would be optimal I feel.
