The thing that irks me the most about the video is that he keeps repeatedly claiming that he’s only calling the Lamentation nerf small in comparison to the overall picture of where the WW Rend Barb is on live and was on the PTR to where its poised to be when 2.6.7 goes live. Except, that’s not how math works. That’s not how the numbers work. The best part is that numbers don’t lie or have bias or egos or anything of the sort. They just are.
It IS a big nerf of about 7 GR levels. It just mathematically is. I don’t care if it seems “small” in comparison to the other buffs that the WW Rend build received in 2.6.7 it is objectively, mathematically not small. It’s mind boggling to me that someone is trying to argue with math. 2+2 will never be 5 no matter what logic you’re trying to use, and the Lamentation nerf won’t be anything but a ~7 GR level nerf no matter how you try to spin the “bigger picture” of the build. Period.
So to once again echo Free’s points for Blizzard
Keep Lamentation’s 200%
Bigger multipliers on Remorseless and Fjord Cutter
Hope to hear good news this coming week when we get official word on 2.6.7. Keep it up fellow barbs. You guys and gals make me proud to have stuck to this class since launch.
Don’t be so modest. Your approach to Cold Slam was unique, although heavily influenced by Nubtro and CC123. I think you deserve some recognition.
All of these are gold, and now I feel bad for not mentioning Rage previously. The guy is the most friendly barb I’ve known (which is ironic due to his account name). And helped me through with my Phys Slam MotE barb. You are the man, Rage!
Anyway it goes, y’all just keep a cool head. The most insult to those who are claiming the barb community is toxic, is to show your not and not comment back saying “see”. Your help to others who have questions might go unnoticed because there isn’t a big “thanks” thread but does show in posts like have been in here.
On the old forums, I asked for help with my WW build a good 4-5 times. Every time Free, and others, replied and gave me good advice. They looked at my profile (back when you could see each others heroes) and took time to break down what I needed to do to progress. Pretty sure Free replied every time, like he did to everyone that asked for help or advice from what I saw.
This thread is almost 1500 replies in. And I’ve read every one. This is my first post on the new forums. I don’t have a lot of barb experience at all, because it’s so hard to play a class that is so weak compared to the others. I love the design and the skills they have, but I can’t force myself to play gimmicky things like wall charging.
I really want to play this class, the lore is fantastic. But I’m a solo player with limited play time. Real jobs suck like that. So if I want to “feel” like I’m not gimping myself I have to play another class. For once I was excited to play a barb after seeing the initial patch notes. Please don’t nerf this, it takes away from what should be your main philosophy. Fun. This build is fun. Why can’t a fun build be at the top? When did video games become that serious? And what harm would it do? D4 is the future, let us go crazy with the time we have left. I don’t play a ton of games anymore, but D3 is always my go to even though it’s considered a dead game. Not to me, it’s one of my favorites. Bring back the fun devs.
Just remember, the minority posts on these forums. By saying that you are wanting to screw over the numerous amount of people who don’t post. I’m a lurker and came out to support the buff. Because variety is good in a game this old. You’re better than that.
Precisely, how often when you’re in a public GR, and a barb joins in, you tell yourself this barb better be a zbarb to be of any contribution to the team, and when you realise he is not, the feeling of distaste overwhelms you…the rest of the team gonna carry him or he gonna lag the entire game with his massive area dmg or both barbs should not be treated this way, directly or indirectly, they are supposedly to be mighty gladiators, pounding on the enemy frontlines and smashing out enemies!
