You’re right I meant 60 years, sorry. That makes my opinion even more amazing.
I’m sorry for doubting you kind elder, may I interest you in a back rub?
(Obviously if you couldn’t tell I disagree with the idea that any amount of high playtime lends credence or weight to anyone’s opinion. If anyone tries to say or imply that their opinion is worth more because of playtime, then you know it’s because the opinion can’t stand on its own without that backing. Ergo, it is worthless.)
It is clear from this post you have very little understanding of gaming in general, let alone Diablo2.
You don’t even know what game balance is, we’re done here.
I agree and I figured that’s where you were going with this I was just flowing with the current you created
I’ve decided it’s 80 years now to be safe, so my opinion is worth 4 D2 veterans’ on its own. OP better buckle up.
Oh I see, you were multiboxing with 4 players all these years!
i think soulskeeper is just trolling by now. i dont belive anyone only see charm inventory as QOL.
this says it all. he dont know . that now you can have it ALL full charm. town potals.and gear+potions+more. but hey its only QOL. my char dosent gain a benefit for this:)
In Blizzard’s second D2R survey, Blizzard listed a dedicated charm inventory as QoL.
and how does blizzards charm inventory looks like? you dont know. so yer it could be QOL
and this survey was not just made for d2r
There were questions about a few different games, but there were several questions relating to D2:R.
“Would the following Quality of Life changes in Diablo II: Resurrected be good or bad for the game?”
The bold/underline is mine.
This seems unambiguous that they are discussing D2R. In terms of how Blizzard implements a dedicated charm inventory it could make the game harder, similar difficulty, or easier.
As has been pointed out and as you refuse to acknowledge, Blizzard directly referred to a charm inventory as a QoL change. Maybe it was a mistake, maybe not, but until they clarify, it’s their official stance.
Of course it would be a quality of life change, you’re not assuming quality of life and balance changes are mutually exclusive though, right? Charm inventory is absolutely a balance change.
The survey had a balance change category and it wasn’t used for the charm inventory.
And it’s only a balance change if you do it certain ways.
Please explain how you could add a charm inventory without changing balance.
They are not realizing what will happen if a separate inventory for charms only is made, which will result in people carrying around the normal inventory full of things like:
- Treachery for Fade
- Demonlimb for Enchant
- Alternative + skill gear for high level BO buffs even on builds that normally would not wear much + skill gear, such as a Bowazon.
- A plethora of alternative gear swaps in general, that will completely change classic meta builds and their interaction with each other in PvM and definitely PvP. Getting people to abide by GM ruling when they can teleport off screen and sneaky swap gear with a full inventory of counter play, will be nearly impossible. And it will also be nearly impossible to prove if & when a person IS sneaking more max res/sorb in past 80/20 ruling, as example.
Adding separate charm inventory will almost certainly remove GM dueling from the game, outside of a small community of people who could be trusted who would take the time to perform appropriate tests to prove they weren’t cheating. And even if new GM rules were designed around this sort of thing, being able to prebuff and gear swap mid-duel will make some classes/builds nigh invulnerable to try and kill.
This is no “Quality Of Life Change”. It looks like a QoL on paper but I guarantee you it wouldn’t be in application and it would completely change the working mechanics of the intra-class dynamic we have now in both PvM and PvP in bad ways. This is a large massive shift in the dynamic of the game. This is beyond labeling as a “balance change” this will result in being more a game mechanic change. 100% guarantee it would go down like that, especially with set macros that would make instant gear swapping very very easy to do.
Blizzard needs to not add separate charm inventory.

Macros violate Blizzard’s ToS/EULA.
Exactly. While you and I may (and will) organize SvS ZvD BvC, etc GM dueling on JSP, the truth is that 99% of duels are in public-pvp, and you can usually spot excessive sorb, or a second prebuff char, and avoid duels with that person after.
With a 10x4 charm inventory, it’s a whole new level of garbage when it comes to BM pub duels. I think maybe people don’t understand how public pvp FFA goes, but it would be absolutely garbage to have chars swapping sorb AND being fully charmed with +13 skills.
The worst part, is PK chars being able to just snipe any sorc they want with full dual-poison charms and full sorb gear. This would make griefing public baal/cs games so much easier, and I don’t think you guys realize it.
Hardcore? don’t even get me started how much easier PKing in pubbie games would be if you could swap gear with full poison or full skill charms.
I mean seriously, even in PvM, with macros for gear swapping we are gonna have some real wonky stuff going on. Just one example that comes to mind:
- Druid has his charm inventory full of 10x summon GCs. He summons a nice big fat one shot Bear and a very souped up vine.
- Druid is carrying 10x wind GCs in his normal inventory. Druid uses a macro to instantly swap all the summon GCs out for the wind GCs.
- Now the full stat Wind Druid is teleporting around also with a Bear that can kill you in 1 hit. If the bear dies, he can push 1 button macro to quickly recycle summon GCs back in for a big bear cast and then push 1 button again to macro the wind GCs right back in.
^ People need to understand that this is what will happen and it will change everything, before they continue to advocate a patching like this.

Macros violate the ToS/EULA. This type of behavior can lead to account action by Blizzard.
