To all the people asking to change things in the game.

This game has been around before some of you were born.
The player base is still alive and Diablo 2 is still an amazing game. NOT PERFECT, but still VERY good.

Can you kids, please stop asking to change things in the game ?
All the imperfections of the game is what makes it even BETTER. If you guys want personal loot, or charm inventory, or anything like this… please just STOP, this game is not for you, just go play Diablo 3. THIS GAME IS FOR US, diablo veterans. There’s alot of other games you can go try if this is not your cup of tea. all the new FAST PACED GAMES, with User friendly and easy games are all out there.

Let the old people like me get their kind of games. All the inconveniences are what makes this game even more fun and satisfying.

EXEMPLE :
Charm inventory, THE POINT OF IT is if you CHOOSE to get more charm ( more power ) YOU SACREFICE loot space, which is a decision people have to make. MORE POWER, or more LOOT ROOM ?

Personal loot, if you guys need personal loot, you can go make your OWN GAME with a password and no one can bother you. This system will only help the “noobs” to get gear, since they are gonna rely on stronger people to kill the mobs for them, and then they just go loot. ( getting stronger without doing anything ). You kids don’t know what it feels like when 8 people are killing a boss, and you’re the one that clicked the fastest and picked up THE ITEM !!! But what makes it so special is that it won’t happen often, but when it does… OH DAMNNN so satisfying. ( personal loot = PRIVATE GAME, go kill mobs on your own, and stop relying on others to kill for you, so you can loot your “loot” slowly )

I wish there was No restat tho… so people need to make new characters if they make a mistake ( or like… make it so if you missclick you have 5 mins to undo )

I use to have like, 4 sorc, 3 paladins, 2 amazons. and each of them had a purpose.
1 frost sorc, 1 fire, 1 elect, 1 was for PVP, 1 hammerdin, 1 smite pally, 1 javazon, and 1 bowzon.
THIS IS ROLE PLAYING GAME ( rpg )!!! and you get knowledge with each character you build, and your next build is always stronger… Please stop this new meta of game making where it’s just easy to do everything…

now people don’t have characters that are immersive, you just make 1 of each, then you switch it up, as the new meta comes out…nothing learned, you just copy what strong people do.

IF YOU NEVER PLAYED DIABLO 2, please… just don’t talk, wait that the game comes out and then TRY IT. you might see why all the old people like myself ( 31 years old ) played this game for 16 years. This game as been a legendary game for a reason. Just sit wait and try… if you don’t like it… welll, you can go play Diablo 3 for 16 years. LIKE WE DID.
WE WAITED, now this is OUR GAME. stop asking stuff to change !!!

When i say the game is for us veteran… i mean it’s a game remade because there’s still people playing it… and they want new players that can’t play the original D2 because of the ugly graphics, to come and try it out AND DISCOVER WHAT DIABLO 2 IS. They wouldn’t remake a dead game with no player base.

Anyways. My point is : STOP ASKING DEVS to do what you want because you don’t like WHAT MAKES THE GAME DIABLO 2.

Go play diablo 3 if you don’t like d2. Diablo 3 is still a updated game.

And to you kids saying " go play the original" it’s been 16 years im playing it. And its not updated anymore. Theres BOTS and many more that makes it not as enjoyable as it was.

So. How about you go play your game 16 years and then come back to me.

( i don’t mind the changes like shared stash, can see the games in normal if im nightmare or cow king can be killed and still make cow level, stuff like that don’t bother me )

IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO DEVS: release the game and let people try it for a few months, before asking feedbacks. because for now, you have people who didn’t play D2 and started at D3, and they give feedback on something they never tried.

difference in this change impact :
CHARMS = sacrefice between power from charm and ROOM in your inventory

Charm inventory = charms are now STAT points, and you chose which STAT (charm) you’re gonna use. no punishement.

Nice, the next old try harder. This is RPG? Well, it’s waaay more hack & slay. Real rpgs are Gothic or elder scrolls.
4 sorcs, 2 Amazones etc are only stupid, nothing else.

But I agree, we don’t need to much changes. I mean, right now we have some changes ;).
Diablo 2 is good, 10000 times better then Diablo 3. But it’s clearly NOT a perfect game.

I play the remake how it is right now, no problem. But let’s bet: in the future, we will get some more content or other stuff. Believe me.

And no, that isn’t OUR game. First, it’s Blizzards game. Second, it’s for all players.

Stopped reading after the first portion. I have played D2 for around 16 years and I would like to see some changes to the game. I can always play the old version if I want to play the same exact thing.

I think you’re missing the fact that a lot of D2 veterans want some of these changes also. We know the game inside and out and want it to feel better.

I am playing diablo 2 since it’s out. I am not for all changes, but some changes would be really nice to have like ladder runewords in singleplayer and enough stash for the crazy hoarders so we can do the holy grail :slightly_smiling_face:. And no since I will also play on the console, I won’t be able to use any of the mods on the console to change the game to what I want to.

Yeah, that’s another consideration too. I will be playing a lot on Xbox myself and you won’t be able to mod there.

from another veteran here who has played for around 18 years. I HAVE WAITED and its MY GAME aswell, stop trying to pretend you are worth anything more than another on here.
the game will live on like it is, im ready for the next patch for this great game.

This right here is wrong, I have been playing Diablo 2/LoD Since 2005, and this right here is very incorrect, the game is targeted at new players and returning players, stop saying this crap “For us” It’s not being remastered “For us” It’s being remastered for a cash grab (and i’m okay with this because I already pre-ordered it) and to hold us over/most of us over until the release of D4 (inb4 Diablo immortal).

I’m so sick of seeing all these “D2 Vets” Claiming the game is being remastered for the D2 Vets, no it’s not… Stop … They are literally testing the waters of the D4 engine with D2R So we can get used to how everything is going to move, look, sound and feel for when D4 comes out while also giving a master piece of a game a new shiny coat of paint.

I’m a veteran too (40 years old).

I agree with the background idea where the D2’s charm is precisely in its “flaws”, since the lack of QoL comes with some freedom and some choices to do, which make D2’s game experience so unique.

However, I don’t like the form / the tone of this post, which sounds too much self-centered and disrespectful of other players who might have different points of view (even if they’re wrong :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:).

When I attempt to construct a compelling argument, I do not start with ageist horse hockey where I imply that many of the people who want change are kids under the age of 16. I for one, played the original D1 when it came out. I see multiple areas where D2 can improve.

Instead of asking others to not seek to improve something, you can may want to contemplate your rationale.

Logically, how by definition does imperfections make things better? Imperfections are just that, a suboptimal condition.

What not let an old person like me have less inconvenience? Video games are meant to be fun, challenging, and engaging. Inconvenience is none of these.

This is another logical fallacy. In personal loot games, you need to be at least near the monster kill to get an item drop that is 1/8 of total drops that you see in comparison to an 8 player FFA game. Moreover, FFA promotes the laziest of gaming. Chill in town, let others clear a map. Go to that area and collect all leftover gear.

This is the epitome of doing nothing to get loot that occurs in FFA. At least in personal loot, you need to be nearby where this is at least some risk of death.

There is a reason that Blizzard did away with no respecs. It was incredibly unpopular.

I have played D2 thousands of hours and it was my favorite game at the time. I do not tell others that they should not voice their opinion.

Others waited hoping for change. Even changing the screen resolution from 4:3 to other dimensions is a change. Should Blizzard keep it 4:3 to placate you?

I am asking myself why some like the OP think that those who pre-purchased D2 (as is needed to post on this forum) are someone who has never played the game.

I highly doubt that Blizzard/VV developer’s read the forums intently. I do wonder if they did and saw an original posts like this, if that would help the cause of “no changers”.

THIS GAME IS FOR US D2 VETERANS ALL 1000-2000 OF US! Worse then the everquest PVP kids. Purist killed this game many moons ago and the same will happen. Your game is dope it was power hacked during alpha. So Bots will work day one , Dupes will work , pickit will work. Yep your game is truly a staple of gaming. From class balance , to end game , to having a legit economy to having a playerbase over 10K! Yes you guys have really shown the world how amazing your game is? Where does it rank on yotube or twitch?

Lol EQ pvp, not to get off topic but most of eq pvp was nothing more then a Gank fest. Worse then even the sometimes random higher level people who will initiate a duel in d2 middle of a leveling public game. At least then I can have TP ready, eq it was just instant death at low levels lol.

What constitutes a veteran of D2? I consider myself one but I don’t still play because I’d have to mod the game to get it to work on my system or emulate windows XP etc.

Yeah and these wow kids think Classic WOW is hard… LOL there is a reason most people cant clear classic wow raids… when you can fail your way to max level and go into instanced dungeons and get welfare loot from quests and dungeons… shocking the worst mmoers on the planet are wow players 100% awful… Yeah the EQ PVP is another on of those things if you missed it then damn you missed an important part of gaming history lol… I can honestly say out of every type of gamer ive ever seen a special tin foil hat goes to EQ PVPers and D2 Purist they truly truly love what they do and will fight for what they love.

But yeah ive played D2 and D2 LOD for many years. I also Played many Mods some very hard mods and some easier mods like PD2 and path of diablo wasnt to bad either.

And you was playing since 16 years? So that means you start playing D2 in the year 2005? Ha, I played it first at the year 2000, so I’m the holy god of Diablo and only my sight is the right!! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
