It’s an easy game to learn and play. That hard part is how time consuming it is to get end game items, reach max level etc etc… It certainly requires dedication and willpower to endure the massive grind.
I dont know which part you referring to but i assume maps right? Maps are not the endgame content and what you said yourself just proves the problem is not the amount of endgame they quit before even completing it
What im getting at with this it doesnt matter if game has 100 hours or 100000 hours of endgame content 99% of players are gonna quit at the same timeframe anyways.
And as a sidenote d2 has way more things to achieve gearwise than poe. It takes way longer to get a relatively as strong character than in poe. In poe its 1-2 weeks and you have the power character equivalent to hammerdin with hoto cta enigma isted shako good hoz anni torch skillers etc
I thought you were “done with this”.
No, you still haven’t provided an actual reason.
Some people like to socialize and play with others.
I know this is how a majority of my game play will be as well.
Other people don’t have the authenticity issues that you seem to. How does it damage anything if you don’t have to use it.
It’s needed as much as auto gold pickup.
I don’t want it nor will I probably ever use it. That doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be an option for those that do.
The remake, remaster, resurrected argument is old and tired. Remaster does not negate the potential for changes, in fact it almost always does involve changes which is why it’s being remastered.
Thanks again for your ignorant opinion. It’s always welcome.
D2R has already changed a great deal. Ladder-only runewords in non-ladder has created an order of magnitude power creep in non-ladder play. This completely undermines the rationale to play ladder for many of us.
At this point remaster, remake, resurrected is a useless tautology that some people use to actually avoid an uncomfortable truth.
Yet, Blizzard/VV has been stating for months including in the past 48 hours that more changes are possible.
The most recent interview from a couple of days ago discusses balance changes and new items.
The official video from Blizzard Activision that I posted has 11k likes, 301 dislikes. It says the loot system will remain the same. Plooters are just a loud minority.
Could you provide the time stamp for that comment?
Recent tweets are more complex. I suspect tweets from the last few weeks refelct Blizzard’s current thoughts.

Also we know more changes may be coming from interview from the last couple of days.
A lot of things have changed since that vid was posted in February - 6 months ago! Changes from that have been made, and more things will change in the future. Simple fact of life.
When it comes to ploot it is not a fact, it is a speculation…
Never said pLoot was a fact, nor that I’d vote for it. Just stating what is to me obvious: D2R will continue to evolve. It will not simply be D2 with a ton of lipstick from here on out.
Personally, I’m OK with that, as I plan to play the hell out of it no matter what’s under the hood.
Correct. According to Rod’s 4 tweets, it is clear that an alternate optional loot system will definitely not exist at D2R launch and potentially ever. The fact the Rod explicitly typed out “at launch” twice in 24 hours seems that this qualifier is not in error and leaves open a possibility for a change post-launch.
Take an artist that copies the Mona Lisa but puts a cell phone in her hand with it to her ear. Now you have to option to never look at that painting. Only seeing the original. But the problem is that it exist is what would bother some that love that painting. Just like the option for ploot in multiplayer would bother those that just don’t want the option. Nor do the see the need for it. Since it already exists in other areas of the game. Stop crying that multiplayer isn’t the fastest most efficient way to get gear along with the extra experience. What don’t like the fact that solo mf runs is for gear and multiplayer is for experience and pvp.
Well that is how the game is designed. No it will not be designed for you personally regardless of why you want it.
Here you say it is needed but then like Shadout say the below.
Why would you support something and say it is just as important as auto gold pickup. But wouldn’t use it yourself.
Oh good point then D2R can become just like D3 with the only difference being the story. Where in time skill trees and skill points are removed. Auto assigned attribute points as well. Set items can dominate the land. Then they can have their own form of GRs, normal rifts, bounties, etc… After all nothing is impossible right. Who cares about the authenticity of the d2 experience as it is being sold. That doesn’t need to matter at all right.
ladder only rune words will not cause power creep. Because if they do then that means that ladders had power creep the whole time. No it means that now you don’t have to be on the ladder to get them. Nor use PlugY to get them for offline mode or using any script to do it.
The only things that I could possibly see them changing is the fact that the hirelings get stuck and stop following you which is annoying as hell. Also make them where you don’t feel forced to always choose act 2 hireling.
They could add more that wouldn’t change how the game is played or add anything that would take a new story to be written.
Ladders did have power creep all the time. I’m no expert in this, but I suspect a duelist with a tricked out set of ladder-only rune words against one who only had non-ladder items would not be a fair fight. At all.
You do realize that a huge amount of Mona Lisa copies and parodies exist?
I sincerely hope no Mona Lisa fans have hurt themselves because of that.
But I guess they haven’t, as they likely are a lot more reasonable than some anti-plooters around here.
Which would remain the case with ploot. As it very much should.
It is called empathy. You might have to google it.
Imagine pictures of the Mona Lisa were illegal because someone decided you should only ever see the original. This is what the FFA group wants.
But, you can take pictures and you can see the original. It’s called having a choice. This is what ploot people want.
Because it’s important to have for people that need it and would benefit from it. Just because I don’t think I’ll use it doesn’t mean it shouldn’t happen.
Yeah, way to spew out a tired and debunked load of b.s.
I don’t play ladder so I don’t have an opinion. I certainly don’t care or know enough about ladders to try and argue about it. I do know that I have no problem with ladder rune words being available to non-ladder characters.
We are not asking to change the loot system (items, item drops, mf, ilvl).
We are asking to change the loot allocation system.
Big difference. Also, if you follow the video just a few seconds longer, you will get a big indication that ploot might come.
Players are already using mules, … [shared stash]
Now let’s complete the following sentence:
Players are already sharing loot, …
I have faith in you, young padawan.
I was using it as a means of understanding how some would be upset since that would put that woman in the modern times. When everything else is of her normal time period. Taking one part of a picture and putting it in the 21st century when the rest of it is in the 18th or older is what could make some upset over its existence.
That is what you don’t understand, the ones that don’t want ploot in multiplayer just don’t want it to exist at all period. Most don’t want it because it already exists in single player or multiplayer private groups. But you and others like you don’t want it that way. You won’t use those tools to get ploot.
Maybe with the type you would agree to, but not other types that I have seen suggested outside of yours.
Just because you understand why someone wants something doesn’t mean you have to agree with it. More so when the game already has it in other areas of the game that you will not use at all.
Which means that they don’t want it to exist period. Because it already exists but you and others don’t want to use the tools that you are already given to get it. No, instead put it in public games as well. Where it is everywhere instead of what I mentioned.
Oh it is debunked even though there is no true acceptable definition of remaster to go by. It is according to each player. Sorry but that is what I won’t go by. I go by VV/Blizz’s definition and I still say it is a remaster.
The Reason Why We Still Fight.

In which case they are already upset. I sure hope they survive.
Sure it would. Pretty much everyone here are suggesting the same system.
But fair enough, if you are saying you are only against some imagined ploot system, while the one everyone want, are fine, then we agree.
No, but it means you can agree with it. You were questioning why people would do such a thing, remember?
VV has made no attempt to define what a remaster means.
They have definitely expressed a will to make drastic changes to the game however.
Oh noes, Rod, you did it.
Anyway, let’s just talk about it now too. It is always the right time for discussing good ideas.
