1- Shelfish people want ploot
2- People who know share items with other players dont want ploot
1.2- Who wants ploot are slow clickers or teenagers
2.2- Who wants the things like always are veteran players
I think we are having a war of ideas marked by the age of the players…
I want ploot for a multitude of reasons most important is for people with disabilities to have a fair shot at loot in public games.
wanting everyone to have an equal shot at gear is not selfish but you can believe it is if you want i till point out though that multiple people have expressed the reason they don’t want it is because they are selfish.
i spend most of my d2 time in private games atm but the times i spend out side of private games is dropping the gear i have found in said private games that i don’t need/want in games with low level players on normal.
i am not a slow clicker (i am certainly not the fastest) i was able to get loot in the beta but i don’t care for the ffa system and the community it creates and i would like to have a more fair and welcoming experience for all players.
i am not a teenager, unfortunately not even close.
i have been playing for 21 years i have taken short breaks over the years as has i am sure everyone but never more than a month or 2 between playing.
i disagree i think we have a “war of ideas” marked by peoples willingness to support others vs just themselves.
the theory is wrong but i highly doubt anything anyone on this forum says will change your mind people have very strong feelings towards issues of accessibility and generally will not change there mind especially for a game.
they are strong arguments, but my biggest problem with the games that have been created today is that they are too easy.
I would like to go back to the difficulty that Diablo II contains and have an experience, a little more based on something more plausible in real life, something that requires effort and dedication.
I respect people who play for leisure or fun, my way of seeing Diablo II goes a bit further, I would like to compete again and feel again that feeling that my effort is rewarded, not that when I enter they have already given me everything.
While I too want harder games, D2 is not exactly a hard game. If anything, the reason it was so successful is due to how easy it is. But yeah, I want a harder version of Diablo in general. Maybe D2R is not the right place for that, being a remaster and all, but I sure wish D4 would go in that direction.
you know that a “meta” option would be chosen to a rather “non-meta” option…and by meta, i mean “quicker loot, faster loot, better loot”
why is it that you guys push so hard for something you don’t understand, or better yet, are unable to cope with?
you will be forcing people to play your way…yet you make it sound, like “its optional” yet you know there won’t be an option…you just want your sneaky little way…its how games have changed to the way they are now…people like you…even god can’t prove me wrong
Don’t forget the suits. They are, ultimately, responsible for what makes it in and what is left out. All the other actors in this play follow their lead.
People think D2R is a game, and to some extent that’s true. However, D2R is actually a business - with a “money guy” at the top deciding where the precious few development dollars available are spent.
And money guys are looking for ways to make more money, and not necessarily ways to make a great game (cough RMAH cough)…
I’m almost leaning towards a largely-XP-focused “After Hell” difficulty version. Maybe where monsters are much more difficult and XP loss on death is 25%, etc. And with no increase in drops/quality of drops.
Or a “Cow Level” type map on each act. Or adding 3 quests to Act 4.
I don’t want to change game play much at all. Just would love to find more ways to interact with the game I love so much.
I guess my biggest problem with D2(R) is the game is simply too short to retain players. It was a lot of content for 2001, but in 2021 there’s not nearly enough there.
Reminds of reading in the back of the LotR annexes where Tolkien said of his masterworks: “my problem with the book is it’s simply too short…” I laughed at the time, but at the end of watching Jackson’s “Return of the King” I admit, I was hungry for more, even with a 45 minute denouement that omitted the Scourging of the Shire!
Imo this is why we should bury the whole idea and focus on bots/hacks/performance/network issues instead of wasting resources on something like that. Everyone who buys d2r know what they are buying, they already made their purchase decision, they dont need to be catered to any further.
I’ve read a lot of posts like this, and I’ve tried to understand the viewpoint, but I’m sorry - I just don’t buy it. I think the threat posed from console hacked items making it into the wider economy will be a dramatically more challenging problem.
Embrace the power of “and!” Seriously, these VV chaps seem to have good heads on their shoulders, who can probably chew gum and walk at the same time.
Uh, cough TCP/IP cough… Personally, the ladder-only runewords in non-ladder to me is the biggest breach of promise. Takes away a huge incentive to play ladder, which was the only way I ever played D2.
Please, don’t tell me to refund. That’s a lame piece of advice. Just because VV broke some promises/made poorly-thought-out changes doesn’t mean I should have to abandon an update of my favorite game ever.
But, please, don’t tell me everyone knew what they were buying, as it’s not completely true.
The whole “remaster vs. remake vs. resurrected” debate is a useless tautology by now…
The thing you are missing though, no arpg has enough content to hold player retention, thats why ladder/leagues exists. Look at PoE for example it just takes like 1 month for the playerbase to be half of what it was week 1. Even though the game has enough content for 6 months to play. People get bored of the gameplay itself not the content.
Where did you got that information from? People getting tired of the gameplay instead of the content? I personally get tired of content and never of the gameplay in any (A)RPG. I can’t find any information of other people what makes them stop playing.
I’m not missing that. It’s obvious that the more players love a game, the more they hunger for more content. We all want more of what we love.
The problem with POE’s end game is it is highly repetitive. They say they have a hundred maps, but these are quite derivative of about 5-6 different basic map types. And these basic types haven’t changed in years, so with each league, end game gets old faster. At least that’s my experience.
I was only mentioning a few modest proposals on ways VV could expand an end game for D2R that would take few resources to add. Giving me a lot of hours of extended play in my favorite game ever at almost no cost to them.
Your 1st reply:
Theres plenty of posts proving this on the forums feel free to look around.
Your 2nd reply:
There is no “and” when they have a certain budget and time avaialable, like humans tend to have. If they do ploot its away from something else, they dont magically add to their budget and time available to implement ploot or change server or whatever so that it wouldnt be away from something else. Hello?
3rd reply:
Ofc they know, if they care to know
And they had the option to refund the game when the news got out they CHOSE not to, you KNOW what you are buying as of now, and all the way until release date and until refund period is over, games not even released yet buddy, want to provide something relevant to argue your delusional point? What you used as an example has nothing to do with post-release additions when the purchase decision is final.
From the fact that you have like 10 endgame bosses, deep delve, basically endless gear upgrade possibilities(content for easily 6 months) but ppl quit after couple weeks each league
Why do you even speak of atlas maps when talking endgame, have you ever been in poe endgame?
That’s basically endgame content? These days people want satisfaction the moment they start playing a game. If the content is only rewarding at the endgame. A lot of people will quit. You see this with almost every new game. That’s why lootboxes became so popular in many games. Don’t agree with you that it has to do with gameplay. Most RPG’s become rewarding later on when you’re done grinding.
