Firebird causes massives lags

EU server

I started this season as a wizard to play FIrebird setup but it is almost unplayable due to massive lags. If you are one wiz in a group it is do able but if there are 2 or more wizards using firebird mirrors its almost impossible to play. Masive lags, screen freezing in gr when mobs are not dying instantly. Not to mention that IF there are any density of mobs the game just stops and its showing me images for a while untill every mob is dead. You cant play like that…

Same here…
It is really awfull that on top of the still existing (since quite a while not getting fixed… WHY NOT BLIZZARD ?) 10-20 second freezes we now are to enjoy very constant 2 second slow-mow / stop and go playstile server issues. With all the bad experience from last seasons with extra player spawned npc´s in greater rifts what the hell where they thinking of making the firebird the way it is today ? If I would accomlish my work like that i would probably have to live under a bridge .

Stops the entire game for a second sometimes… It is really terrible and I havent even tried high GR with it.

I can barely tolerate the lag and mess created by 1 Wizard in 4 man Greater Rift. 2 Wizards or 3? Forget it. I target games without Wizards, they cause so much lag it isn’t fun.

In solo play i experienced it too. Like time slows down, everything slow motion. Very annoying.

It has nothing to do with Firebirds. There is something severely wrong with game performance in general (PC) from what I’ve noticed. It will do what you described even with a solo barb for example.

Unfortunately it does have something to do with Firebirds (in combination with CoE)
We’re completely fine in GR 110 with ww barb/necro dps but as soon as there’s a wizard, we’re lagging so hard we just freeze for 10 seconds… Hoping to be alive when it ends!
It’s unplayable like this, and i hope the maintenance of today is a fix.

Never saw this before in my 7y of D3 play, until I created a wizard 2 days ago.
Coïncidence ?

Hmm, wearing stone gauntlets on follower could be te trigger for the slowmotion…

PLEASE look in to this for a possible fix. never had lag issues until this season, and it’s only when i’m in a lobby with at least 1 wiz. it just tanks the game.

I had this issue last season, before the Firebird rework, but the set is definitely causing this issue too.

Something about too many data actions happening at once which “overloads” the engine or whatever.

This game suffers from the same thing games written in unity suffer from. It can only handle so much at the lowest layer since its bloated, but also theres an unresolved sound issue that creeps up with some specs. Seems like a windows/motherboard onboard audio issue thats getting bottlenecked and lagging to catch up. As an IT guy Ive managed workarounds, and have no lag issues.

Example: The PC I run Diablo on is an old 3770k ( still waiting on a 3070 for my new PC), and I have ZERO issues with firebirds, or playing with Firebird in group. In fact, the wizard I play with plugged area damage in to test it, and I still seen no lag yet his new PC lags either way. If a new PC lags and my 2012 PC has 0 lag, that tells me its not firebirds but a hardware or windows issue with Diablo.

Main problem is for a game in maintenance, I doubt they have that low level programmer at the engine level to fix this. Its been around for a while, its just creeping up since firebirds pushes the calculations needed to extremes.

it’s not firebird, it’s the explosive blast. use the fmodex64.dll from the freeze fix to get rid of the lag

i’m playing lots of gr110 speeds atm, with either 2 or 3 FB wizards and don’t have any lag issues except if someone has forgetten to remove AD from paragon.

But its kinda silly that you have to disable a game mechanic right

i don’t even know what this means

This right here, solves the issue.
Never had before heard of this Area Damage Lag.
Removing the CoE, swapped for unity, games runs smooth again.
No Area damage lag, or too much calculation. Just a bug, and this dudes mention here is the only one adressing the problem amidst a sea of cospiracy theories.

See, like I said, it isn’t Firebirds. There is a number of posts in here confirming that.

Not just Firebird, I’m seeing some bad lag with Crusader as well. Same skill + rune as always, but laggier.
