Guess you didn’t meet me then, also you do realize instanced loot wasn’t a well know mechanic at the time, as in that time it hadn’t really been implemented yet. But my family I did play with at the time, all thought FFA loot was terrible. Also I meet a lot of people online who felt the same and mind you this was in 2000, before LOD was released. But people didn’t complain as much because none of us could point to anything better.

We played similar classes, also brotherly rivalry often times a unique would drop and we would fight over who killed what lol. Unless its a hand me down sharing rarely happened.

You do know my interaction between me and my family. Have nothing to do with online multiplayer we played on lan, that’s just being misleading and has nothing to do with my reasoning for a optional Instanced loot system. Key word optional.

The entire game is due to the limitations of time. You might as well just say don’t make it, because time has moved forward.

So what if David Brevik wants “Personal Loot” He isn’t the one who is going to play the game. Maybe he will, maybe not. But keep in mind, he left the company in 2003. So actually he can’t tell how Diablo 2 Resurrected should be because he is not working on the project. But he can have he’s opinion like we all others have.
It’s a Remaster of the original game with some improvments and better graphics. Doesn’t mean we have to change the whole loot system because the old game creater said so.

But I will get him big creeds by making such a great game.
Actually one of the greatest game ever made.

Stop spreading fake news, obviously he isn’t against personal loot in modern ARPG’s , that doesn’t mean he would have added it in D2 with how the loot tables currently work.

You guys are arguing for something that you would end up disliking, I wish someone would add personal loot to a mod so you can see how terrible of a system it would be in D2.

It’s rare enough that a good item will drop even in an 8 player game, imagine after doing 10 runs and you end up with 5 items, where half of those are garbage whites or blues. I feel like people advocating for this system have no idea how much it would ruin the adrenaline of killing a boss.

Really you never heard a complaint about loot? What about pickit? Plenty of complaints there, a hack totally made possible by the FFA loot system. I also remember plenty of complaints about the disadvantages ranged classes have when it comes to getting a fair shot at grabbing loot.

Forget a mod, Personal loot should absolutely be tested in a beta phase, and Blizzard should receive feedback on it.

Also if your not present you don’t get loot and they did shorten seasons… this is also a way to combat RMT because everyone has access to everyting IE you can trade for what you want and not have an issue our god wants this for us!!

What i really liked about diablo is that is a cruel world where everything is trying to kill you.
Even your party can turn against you at any time and be hostile.

I bet all the people asking for personal loot also want to ban people who kill them in hc

These kind of comments are quite silly. It’s no secret pickit cheats will be some of the first available for purchase, as they’re the easiest to code and hard to detect.

For some of us, personal loot is a practical cheat protection, and has nothing to do with gameplay choices.

How about we remove ladder because botters will get to 99 first?
How about we remove teleport because bots will teleport fist

Well, that escalated quickly.

I hope you get your option to play FFA loot.

Don’t be surprised if the devs offer a different option, though. Game developers today know FFA is a flawed and easily exploitable system.

I just don’t understand how they had such a horrible time with Diablo 2 online. None of these complaints were an issue for me or people I knew. For sure not enough to completely change the game to add a personal loot mechanic that may or may not need a different loot pool just to make it work.

If we just start making all games have the same mechanics what’s the point of having different games. These hardships were D2, they are literally ingame mechanics. Botting is an outside source tainting your guys experience and that should be on blizzards hands.
