Yeah, I do not disagree. I think combat was best in vanilla though and has become worse over time, due to the power creep. So you end up obliterating screens full of enemies with lightning speed, where nothing in the fight really matters, and you have health regen that makes combat into a binary “either you are at 0% HP or 100% HP”.
But the pure fluidity aspect of combat is certainly worth preserving. The balance aspect and pacing of it could use a ton of improvement.
Plenty of stuff was really bad in vanilla D3, but the fewer more dangerous enemies in Inferno difficulty made combat more interesting imo.
While true, that wasn’t my point. Regardless of power creep, the combat has such a visceral pleasurable feel and the smoothness of all movement is truly a feat. Just with WoWs movement, no other MMO has come close, no ARPG feels as good as D3, Vanilla or otherwise. Yeah, at obscene power levels it’s too fast and rather dull, but it still feels amazing.
Why not have open trading for one camp of players AND proper drop rates/crafting for the other camp and so people can play the game as they want and choose accordingly? I really do not see the problem, except with seller bots spamming the chat, lol, but surely that can be solved pretty easily, no?
Agreed. But you can only achieve the above in multiple game modes.
If you have proper droprates balanced for no trading, then items will be way too common for the people who want to trade.
Yeah I suppose some kind of compromise has to be made, since multiple game modes probably won’t be a thing… Excited to see how they resolve this particular issue. I can live with either although I prefer trading as an option. The more choices and options the better in my book.
Thus far, they plan to have a limited trading system in which the higher rarity tier items won’t be tradable. That is of course subject to change. Regardless, whatever they decide, they’ll be sure to inform us (probably with a quarterly update).
Ranking Ladder in an ARPG like Diablo is a non-sense. It only shows people that the Blizz team cannot balance classes, sets and builds. You want to play a certain set build because you like that gameplay, but that build sucks and you can only reach GR115 with it. Now you feel that you are wasting your time instead of enjoying that build. Instead, you’ll copy the highest ranked GR in your class and play it. Because there is nothing else to do except grinding for top GR150…
If there is no “Infinite scaling” in activities and level of power, then it’s easier for Blizz to balance stuff and you don’t need a useless Ladder.
When they removed AH and restricted trading, game was still the same except trading, then some time after that they added mystic and grifts and paragon above 100, so before that, restricted trading was my only problem with the game and i quit after some time, then when all those other things came i also didnt like them but since i stoped already because of no trading that didnt mather much to me, but not just only no trading is bad in d3 atm, many other things.
So, what you’re saying is ‘no open trade’ is not the only issue you have with D3. Your argument doesn’t hold then. Having open trade or not does not lead to whether D4 will be like D3, the one you so hate and such. The game very much be like D3 even with open trading, and it could very much not be like D3 with no open trading. ‘No open trade → D3’ is a false argument.
how will you make open trade to work?..because action house wont work and spamming the chats wont work either, and all we will get are bots selling stuff and 3rdy party sites selling. so i wonder how can be implemented in a way that no one can abuse the system
Because them being “pro-players” with high paragon changes nothing.
The gameplay is the same for everyone else too. Because that is how the game is designed.
So yeah, quite relevant.
Nope, once you approach your limit there is no more obliterating screens of mobs. These guys suffer from a clever role setup (the R in ARPG), insane play time resulting in huge paragon and a GR cap that is too low for this miniscule minority.
Just your opinion. If you want it to matter play HC as I said and leave the others out of it.
(and it does matter for some builds when a death vs the RG is game over for the rift)
