Diablo 4 must not have trading

Your question is irrelevant because we’re not using the same definitions.

I want the math to be easy to pick up and play. I’ve said that Diablo ought to be easy to pick up and play.

But your definition of “simple math” I consider “brain dead math”.

and I don’t want brain dead math.

It would for those not enjoying the game due to complex Math.

Yes, it is since you obviously want complicated Math for the sake of it due to probably lacking skill in other aspects of the game.

My definition is pretty simple: simplified Math, but same depth. If we can make the Math “brain dead” even better.

I am not too concerned about imaginary peoples desires however.

Anyway, the point is, you cant simplify the math to the extreme degree that you want, and still keep the depth. Or any kind of depth.

Of course you can. You “Math gurus” in this thread not being able to do it doesn’t mean others haven’t done it.

Well, should be easy then. Which game has done it?

You’ll see when it comes out. I guess it won’t be an “A-RPG” with how you rate these.

Which hurts the game because we can’t have things like critical strike without percentiles and multipliers.

No attack speed either, those work in percentiles as well.

You want a game so simplistic it doesn’t actually exist because it would be too boring.

but then again maybe things are different in the future. Maybe knowledge regressed and now multiplication is considered college level mathematics.

I’m just a simple non time traveler after all.

So the troll response again. Of having absolutely nothing.

How many decades do we have to wait Oh Great Man of the Future.
Isn’t it a bit early to call existing genres dead, even if you genuinely believed that something else would replace them in the far future?

I didn’t know we have only CS and AS in Diablo. Which version is this one so I can download it?

It’s good you finally got the point btw. Simplifying Math is the way to go.

Your A-RPGs like D2, D3 and PoE are all ghost/bot towns.

There aren’t A-RPGs in the future. People got bored of copy/pasting. Math RPGs still exist - these are like a big puzzle you solve with Math while your character is auto-playing fighting and collecting loot.

So you agree that it’s okay to have percentiles, multiplication, and division in the game in a way that the player deals with it?

I’m glad we could agree that brain dead math isn’t the way to go.

I am somewhat happy you got back to the real reason for your whole tirade in this thread.

Yeah, nothing screams death like what was it now, 65 million players, and whatever number of people who have played PoE.

This is histerical. What happened to the thought train that player may need one more defensive mitigation or quicker recovery granting item because they can’t withstand damage when they tried? Perhaps, they failed the time trial by a few seconds/minutes. Wouldn’t they be able to come up with the instinct that they need another available buff multiplier or mass crowd control for covering cooldowns and uptime?

There’s no math involved, it’s trial and error and you’re allowed to do that as long as you play softcore mode and we all know what hardcore mode is for. If you want to nitpick, math calculations only be done in simulations by top players and guide writers. No player who casually played this series ever became self concerned of efficiency, nor ever demanded it to be watered down. You may see tons of guides out there, but those are guides sometimes written without any note of comfort for the player.

I have no idea why this goes back and forth but my gut feeling tells me that it’s off the rails and it’s happening in a discussion between trading and not trading, so may be that’s related.

Because Skelos is a troll and presumably me and Shadout find this funny.

Everything is okay as long as players enjoy it.

I have nothing against Math RPGs (such with hard to solve Math puzzles), but you seem to have something against brain dead Math games with great depth, and I don’t know what’s the reason for it? You don’t like newcomers having fun?

I played it too, but haven’t done it since years. I guess by your logic I still count as a PoE player supporting the genre?

This is just for cover up.

I find funny how much you fear simplified Math.

I have nothing specifically against them.

I reject the very notion that they can exist within the RPG genre.

Players enjoy having more than brain dead math.

I said it so it has to be true. I’m pretty sure that’s how this works based on the way you argue things.

Strongly disagree there. Nothing about D:Is predatory P2W design is okay, even if they manage to brainwash people into believing they enjoy swiping that credit card.

It is pretty hard to have anything against something that does not exist. And never will exist.

I have to give you a point or two for giving an impeccable impression of it.
When you pronounce something outdated, archaic, dead, useless etc. it often indicates having something against it. But not here, obviously.

You aren’t qualified enough for such expertise. You need to improve your Math understanding. Sorry, but that’s the truth.

Nonsense.

Oh, no. Math RPGs have their niche players. Not much, but aren’t dead.

Do the qualifications require that I bash my head against the wall for a few hours first?

Or shall I just keep waiting on this mythical RPG that’s going to set the gaming world on fire?

Does it come out before or after Cyberpunk 2077 online destroys Diablo 4?

I just want to know when to expect it.

After D4 for sure. I’d say around Q4 2024.

D4 is shaping to be a nice game - 36 hours basic leveling, static world map, mounts, bounties, interesting itemization, rotating paragon boards, PvP sections. I can’t wait for it tbh. I just ordered a new PC for it.

Well that’s weird that you’d be excited for a game which apparently will be dead because it has “complex math” like basic multiplication.
