A search for Calamity gets you to…
So there’s a bug it seems where Calamity hand crossbow doesn’t proc Momentum stacks if it hits an enemy, if you shoot in the air as latest patch updated you will get a stack but not if it hits an enemy.
Calamity is the only 1h xbow that is buggy when trying to stack momentum - please fix
Using Bola (without Vengeance) does NOT apply Marked of Death to enemies, with Calamity in cube.
The new DH set ‘Gears of Dreadlands’ momentum stacks aren’t working correctly when using the Calamity Crossbow. When in town, momentum stacks normally but once you enter a rift (normal or greater) it becomes inconsistent and high stacks become near impossible to maintain.
Please fix this ASAP and thanks for your time,

It looks like the problem occurs when marked for death is activated when calamity is equipped and when attacking monsters. when starting the rift, attacking will stack up the momentum. but when enemies are hit, the stack will just fall off and not add up.
switched to fortress ballista and the issue is not occuring.
Seen this is present a few times in this forum, even as far back as PTR, but no visibility. The momentum stacks for using a primary skill DO NOT trigger when using the Calamity legendary power.
Even shooting off to the side (away from mobs) rarely adds momentum stacks, unless absolutely no mobs are present.
Reading up on Calamity, it sounds like the marked for death is applied before the damage is dealt? If so, this may be the issue - as it is not classing the attacks as primary skills for GoD…
