Then they likely would’ve said soon rather than not even Blizzard soon. If 2022 was the planned release year, then we’d likely had heard that during 2021 in one of the quarterly updates (including BlizzConline), just like how we got a 2023 release year while it’s still 2022.

No they wouldn’t have. A game likely 3 years a way is not when Blizzard talks about release dates.Blizzard soon is typically a year away.
If it was a year away, then they would’ve simply included the release year (either during BlizzCon or at the game’s site) rather than saying soon.
For example, when WoW Shadowlands expansion was announced at 2019 BlizzCon, it had a release year of 2020 (no precise date, just year). So if Diablo 4 was to be released this year, then I imagine during the rogue’s class reveal video, we would’ve gotten a release year of 2022, just as the necromancer’s class reveal video had 2023 in it.
Also, I never said they’d give a release date for a game that will likely release 3 years into the future…
Advertisement campaign of a sequel game lasts longer and costs more to the company as a result. Sure that pandemic slowed things down, but if D4 was only 3 years away they’d make the announcement with the release date because that’s the expected time line for a sequel game.
I always expected it to last 4-5 years because they haven’t announced the release date right away. That tells me that it’s further than 3 years and I think I happen to be right in that sense. My furthest guess was D4 being released at 2024 (04/04/24? Huh? Maybe?) but I guess the last quarter of 2023 is the time we see the game at the shelves.
It was exactly a year away when we found out the year. What im saying, and have been is that it could have been released in 2022 but 2 major things happened that caused a delay, the forst one, the bigfest factor was Covid. That happened 2 years before 2022. So there was no opportunity for a release to be announced for 2022 because a delay ready happened.
This isn’t something hard to grasp. There was never a solid 2022 release date ever. Im just saying it is 100% plausable for D4 to have come out already due to past development times, but stuff happened and caused that not to happen.
Yeah, I already get what you’re saying. That it may have been possible for Diablo 4 to be released in 2022, and that things like Covid could’ve delayed it. However, I disagree with the idea of Diablo 4 being released earlier than 2023 regardless of the situation, unless the development was rushed.
Long story short, I never thought D4 would’ve been released prior to 2023, unless it was rushed.

Nothing to sho and thenn6 minths later a full zone ready to test and the not going to release in 2022 comment seem to say otherwise.
Yet despite that a release year of 2022 wasn’t given during last year’s BlizzConline. So I doubt that. But at this point I’ll just agree to disagree.

Anyone who does not have a low IQ would know that the majority of people at Blizzcon who vented about Immortal were young people not “old people.” The first time anyone was booed on stage came from young people. Most of the people who flooded this forum with complaints were young people. If you cannot under that ask an adult to explain it to you. Or ask your phone to show you some youtube clips. I am done with you.

D4 wil probably sold well over 5 million BEFORE launch from preorder alone.

they did not have d4 ready to talk about yet. we got d4 soon, no need to be butthurt about it anymore, or at all from start.
yeah im pre ordering the minute they allow us to. game could suck all it want lol im still trying it out.
I already pre-ordered hard copy. I will also buy it on digital.

While it seems reasonable that it would get 5 million sales within the first day (including preorders), 5 million is still a fairly high number in that timeframe. Definitely not guaranteed. But pretty likely. Within the first week, yeah, would be an insane surprise if it didn’t reach 5 million there.
I can see being disappointed there was no D4 announcement. But the vitriol over it was hilarious. Whatching manbabies cry over made my day/week/years. The fact that people still are upset over it is priceless. It3just a game people. I love Diablo as much as or robably more than the bext guy, but this was a giant non issue from day one that that was made into a mountain.
Given that D4 will be released on PC and what looks like possibly 2 generations of consoles at the same time, I would be surprised if it doesn’t have at least 5 million on day 1 counting presales.
