Well, you are wrong though.

No way that they are going to build it from scratch either without a good justification.

OP!
They have already tried it with Diablo 3.
It was horrible fail as you suggested.
So by copying Diablo 1&2 they are doing the right Thing.
Dear developers listen to the community, don’t do the same mistake you in Diablo 3, by not listening.
Correct, I can only deal with trolls for so long, I need to get to work know. You have been exposed.
Are you referring to DK’s post? Where he states, “We went through so much great community discussion…”
When I first read this, I thought to myself, ‘oh great, here we go with the thought-forming disinformation campaign.’
There is no community that wants EZ mode! Unless he meant the 5-person dev team community plus 1 or 2 marketing peeps…
Game developers understand what makes a game good better than the average gamer does, so don’t sweat about all the bad suggestions from random forum posters. They are making a game that will appeal to many people, not a select niche few who need to get their mood disorders in check.
I don’t remember where I heard it and I could be wrong I’m not choosing this kill to die on here it’s something I “heard” as I said. But that article supports what I heard more than it disproves it…
“One of the pre-BlizzCon 2019 rumours was that Blizzard was planning to announce a Diablo II Remaster, but that did not materialise.”
I’m pretty sure I heard it from one of the youtubers that covers diablo regularly like Ryhkerr or someone. Either way it doesn’t really matter whether or not its real or fake all that matters is that it didn’t happen. And for them to say that they weren’t going to do it and place all their focus on D4 isn’t outside the realm of possibility. Just saying. Why is this even an issue lol.
Are you trying to be offensive? What mood disorders are you suggesting we have?
Yo D3 people do we have to remind you?

There are games like shooters where I think micro-transactions have a place, but RPGs where the sole purpose of the game is to find items to customize your character; I just cant get behind this. Your taking away designs from items that would otherwise be in the game to inflate the price of the game. I’d rather pay a small fee every month than have to see someone with devil wings in my game. If I’m paying 60$ for a game I shouldn’t have to pay extra. I mean look at the fact their adding mounts into the game… This is solely for the purpose of making skins for them I’m calling that right now. They might give some explanation like oh its another thing to grind for but lets be honest its just a way to add more money into their wallets. Mounts are a seriously odd thing to have in Diablo. And for all the people who think mounts are a good idea, feel free to like them and want them in the game I just don’t. Nothing against anyone.
As for the damage numbers… yeah I mean wth were they thinking with that. My brother was playing D3 the other day until we got him back into D2 now hes hooked back into it. But his damage numbers were in the millions or billions. WoW has had the same issues and alot of the same people who were involved with WoW got sent over to that team so you can see where the design philosophy came from there. Its crazy.
Just look at all the comments in that Diablo 3 GDC video. Every single person writing hates D3.
That made me laugh out loud even if its kinda sad at the same time.
D4 DEVS, PLEASE DON’T LISTEN TO THE COMMUNITY
Am I the only one who sees the irony in this?
You should watch the whole video, thats even more sad tbh.
He “explains” by personal prefference why he butchered every single aspect of D2 into D3.
No wonder the guy is hated by the D2 community and the ammount of dislikes in the video.
Game on.
there’s no press conference, when the forum inspires devs sometimes, np.
Taking all their feedback from popular streamers like mrllamasc and Rhykker would be good enough for me. They actually know what’s best.
Lol and this guys will also call you a troll…
This is actually true, but what does it say?
To me it says (I might be wrong of course) that wrong people were placed for the game development. People who actually had no clue what Diablo is and maybe even ARPG in general, what makes it great.
And yes, I agree. They tried something new, Applause… Or Not?
This whole feedback might be of course just a damage control to make friends with us after a fiasco(s)? Plural is more reasonable here I guess.
Even if it is only a damage control for the most part they will still extract something from it (I hope)…
I’m amazed ! When blizz at least shows as that they are trying to go the right direction, dig the forum and our feedback while developing a game posts like this appear. Wow. Feels as though OP actually wants the devs to step into the same pile of crap their feet are familiar with already.
I’m still not sure is OP serious or a troll. Whatever. Free speech?
Most certainly a troll.
Fair enough its still funny that at least half or more of the posters in D3 forums are in favor of D2 LOL.
Even if they copied it, it wasn’t a quality copy :DDD
From this we can deduce that copying stuff might actually not be as easy as it might appear. They didn’t do their homework enough. Copy/paste someone elses vision might not work on your vision.
Funny, isn’t it?
Where is that “Are you sure about that?” John Cena gif. Ok, I don’t think I need it.
Im gonna ask myself, are you sure about that?
The game developers usually care about profit and income not the game, they create what brings money, they don’t care which type of gamer they attract. Sure D3+RoS brought a lot of money, can it be called a true successor of diablo franchise, don’t think so.
They scrapped expansion or expansions, admitted themselves it was a failure, and moved on to other game. If it was so great why life support on D3 and actually figuring out how to make a new game?
