It changes the game, the best way to magic find fundamentally changes into boringly following around Baal teleporters, etc. The best way to magic find should be to do so by yourself or with friends, not by following around a public games where many times other players do heavy lifting.
game breaking. Ok, I’m off to have a beer and play Overwatch.
Also global loot helps with the interaction between players
For example if I pick up something that is of no use to me I can say on Perth chat is this item of any use to anyone and vice verser
I play d3 multiplay and there is no player interaction at all
I hope the bring back the chat lobbies and game search ect from the old bnet
This would only affect you if you created or joined a game that had the option of private loot turned on, which you wouldn’t do. So, for you, there would be no change.
LOL
People are really excited for such trash getting remastered?
Some visual glitter wrapped around the same 20 year old turd?
Looking forward to see the reviews it gets from console players trying it for the first time.
Sure, that would work! Thought you proposed that on game creation you ticked private or global, but if the two groups of players have their own servers I don’t see an issue and I would be happy.
Straight up adding private loot for everyone is a big no from me. That’s not how D2 is and it fundamentally changes the game, and shouldn’t be forced (neither directly or indirectly) in a remaster.
Still waiting for a valid argument about how PL will destroy D2.
Personal loot means people will get more loot and so botters will suffer. And when botters suffer this isn’t true Diablo 2, because they always prospered there. This is how PL will destroy D2.
Or you share loot with party people and other players get individual drops. If something has a chance to drop an item with 25% chance, individual loots get base and additional players in the party increases that for extra.
We have shared stash and auto pickup gold now. Wanna consider the argument again?
It wasn’t that way before? What does personal loot has to do with, when I wanna farm Countess, Andariel, Nihlathak and Diablo instead of Baal? What joy can it take away from gameplay?
Not sure why you quoted that or what your argument even is as it has nothing do do with what you said. I addressed shared stash and auto gold pickup and it’s got nothing to do with the quote.
Speaking for myself, I have thousands of hours in D2. It was my favorite game at that time. Things change, technology improves, improvements can be made.
Using that flawed logic of making D2 into D3, you should not want D3 characteristics such as "
a no expiration date on characters
bigger stash
Shared stash tabs,
graphic update with higher resolution, faster refresh rates, and is not built on 4:3 dimensions that now are being updated in D2R.
Auto-gold pickup
Battlenet integration
These 6 things are all in D3.
Not everything in D3 is awful. It has issues. D2 has issues which is why many have modded the game to improve it. Both D2 and D3 to me are enjoyable to play.
Well… In theory, if I try to leech I can easily vacuum gold away from your party now by staying neutral before you can even react. I believe this changes something. Oh and will you try to pick them or just activate the sweep? That’s the question.
“To get the best drops, you need to mf yourself.” That is exactly the problem. We should be encouraging group play.
I’m not sure people quite understand how drops work in this game. As it is now, you get 3x the drops of an 8 player party (with the drops divided equally) by playing solo in a 1 player game. Magic finding will always work well playing solo since unique monsters always drop an item. It will always be effective for those who want to play solo to do so.
I don’t know about anyone else but I find that playing through the game with 7 other people to be one of the most enjoyable aspects of this game. But once Hell Baal is completed everyone goes to their own separate games to find items. That is because it is incredibly inefficient to do so as a group.
I offered a solution to this in post 225 of this thread. And no, having more drops is not going to break the economy. (See example from that post)
Gold doesn’t matter in D2. Any players having trouble repairing? Do a single baal run and sell a chaos plate for 35k. Gold was shared already anyways. No one is worried about auto gold pickup breaking the game somehow.
But it changed the gameplay where you had to click and it got rid of that “feeling”. Don’t you agree? Ain’t it making sense to split the instances of loot, if someone can easily sweep the entire lot that drop from the boss now?
You only repeat the same thing about “the feeling”. If it’s really an unneeded feature this thread shouldn’t have go for this long when you’re absolutely sure that would impact gameplay. If someone would claim a good substantial evidence, people would cease all of this. Yet, when I look at other MMORPGs and ARPGs, I don’t see individual loot breaking them.
What are you even talking about? Auto gold pickup doesnt mean auto loot pickup… people compete for the LOOT. Not the gold LOL.
I never said a single thing about a “feeling” and I explained my opinion in depth on multiple replies on here. Either you replied to the wrong person or cant read?
Whenever I question any of you against it, I get the same response but I fail to find it over the thread can you give me a landmark? Which numbered post you gave that indepth explanations? Do they still hold water when I look at any MMORPG or Path of Exile which has individual loot and a trading system?
