And 24 hours later still here. There you go…
I thought you believed D4 will be ready just next week after reveal?
He also believes in the Easter Bunny…
Indeed. This is pretty sad.
The Legend of Zelda is an Action RPG too, in case you somehow missed the memo. I’m pretty sure it didn’t have any meaningful impact on Diablo 3, and CP2077 OL won’t really either with Diablo 4. Blizzard’s already made all the adjustments they’re going to make with regard to CP2077 (WoW: Shadowlands should have been delayed further, but they went and crunched its release to beat CP2077 to the gate and it has balance issues galore, and even has a situation where content from two expansions ago is much harder at max level than it was at that expansion’s max level at any time since its release). One would hope the Diablo franchise team might learn from that bit of a mess and not allow history to repeat itself.
Um… no. I mean… NO!
The Diablo franchise has been around since 1996. D4 has nothing to worry about.
As for that other game that isn’t even available yet, Cyber what?
Gluten free doughnut are in Brisbane, today! No need to wait!
Diablo 4 is doomed!
And statements like these too.
Do you think something done just to sell is any good? Like the losses were the most important thing, or the contrary, the sellings.
The sellings is an indicative of how successful a game is, not the top priority, and nor should ever be like that, so rotten. You make a game, and if it sells it’s because it’s good, not because your marketing campaing has sold sh*t as if it was diamonds and everyone fell for that. And more than the money I think the developers or the people involved in making that game is because a lot of people liked it and loved it because it was good. Not just a product for numbers and money, ffs.
Really. You want to play Diablo 4 and want it to be good? Learn to be patient.
Someone should open a thread about how Genshin Impact gonna end both Cyberpunk Online and Diablo 4. This could be fun.
munches popcorn
You seriously underestimate the marketing importance in the world we live.
To give you a Diablo like example: The proper marketing is like an aura - it amplifies the value of the product.
If D4 is 10/10 it will 100% sell a lot, but it will also sell A LOT MORE with proper marketing while being 9.5/10.
It’s funny because it’s likely making more money than both lol
To be honest, I just can’t see Diablo 4 can do that…in the first 2 weeks.
Genshin Impact is also way more like Diablo than Cyberpunk is
Diablo is doomed unless it travels back in time and releases before Genshin!
That said, Diablo 3 presumably made 210 million in the first day. Some of which went to retail shops of course, but still, D4 likely will outdo Genshins first weeks, easily. I guess Genshin might “win” in the long run unless Blizzard heavily monetizes D4… which they hopefully do not.
I had the game due to all the hype, but play 2 sitting & then delete. Anime style not my cup of tea.
I am not sure the game is good or bad for the industry. I hate game with Pay2Win design & ask you for money every 5 mins. That’s why I don’t play mobile games except to pass time when in a queue.
At least Fortnite, there is no pay to win & only pay for cosmetic. So they actually have to make the cosmetic really good to make you part with your money. Gating progession/items via $ is anti consumers.
If D4 has some amazing cosmetic, skins, I will happily paid for them, but if D4 ask for $ for currency, I will be mad.
It’s a gacha so it’s not really pay2win, it’s pay2waifu
Basically, the game’s monetization bets on the weebs despair to get the character they like, so they pay for those gacha rolls, but in terms of actually being viable to clear all the content without paying, it’s very f2p. Thing is, the weebs like throwing money for the jpg of their waifu, hence why this business model is so successful with both the f2p and the whaling crowd
I mean, technically Cyberpunk 2077 is based on Cyberpunk 2020, a tabletop RPG that has been around since 1988 so it’s actually an older franchise than Diablo
It’s not doomed. It losses value when releasing after other big titles.
I don’t play Genshin, but if its developers know what they do they can push strong content when D4 releases to reduce its impact on their game.
Most gamers aren’t whales that can spend thousands on any game they play. Most players play on a budget and the companies try to get the maximum share of that budget.
Genshin’s and FGO’s numbers say otherwise

I can’t share links in this forum. But, uhm

This is the 21th century gamer. You may not like it, but this is the direction the game industry is going towards.
No. A game can fail if it releases at the same time as another title. Most AAA-publishers would be smart not to release their game on the same day as Cyberpunk 2077.
But a month later? No problem.
(Well, releasing a game in early January is also not the brightest idea)
