No, they have absolutely nothing to do with what I described???
I agree with you @Skelos,
But I will stick with D3 for now.
I’d argue that last point. Most of the game has been decided. And has een created or eing worked on. The things in flux are the easy to change or not as high of a priority as other things like the art and feel of gameplay.
It’s in an internal Alpha which means the gsme is there it’s just not feature complete, which usually indicates a Beta state.
As of Blizzcon 2019, we all assumed they only had a tiny part of Scosglen done. However the gameplay trailer showed all the zones. In the summer update they had a fully playable zone. Being tested by the entire team.
I would not be surprised if the have 5 fully working zones with 5 playable class ATM.
If any genre is built for it, it’s ARPG’s like Diablo.
Will cyberpunk have minipets?
We don’t know that based on anything Blizzard has said. I’d expect a majority of the game is not made yet (which is not the same as the game is only halfway done, since development presumably has sped up a lot over time, and a substantial part of the development is making tools etc.).
Much of the game likely has been “decided” on, hence being an a drawing board somewhere. Though much of that is probably going to change too. Plenty of what we have seen in the blog posts will change as well.
Playable zone is very very far from feature complete zone.
Never said anything about feature complete. Just that I think world is most likely made. The art is by far the biggest and most time consuming. You need a playground to test the toys.
Even if it’s not 100% made that’s not a reason to delay launch. There will always be new content added in the future. As long as the game is stable, campaign is done and most important systems are completed, it can and it should be released.
Who’s talking about delaying a launch? Or is this one of your CPO conspiracies?
Campaign is not done.
Most important systems are not completed.
but CPO is totally going to destroy every action RPG when it comes out despite it being basically just an afterthought to the single-player game!
I really feel ashamed of how many of you fall into this trend traps like merchandising fanatics.
When something is good, is good, by itself, doesn’t need to compete with others or be released to earn hordes of twitch watchers or compete with another different game. I find it pathetic, really.
I hope D4 developers stay away from this kind of statements and absurd pressures and competitions and just do their thing good and done when it is done.
What’s more is that even if one wants to get into the trend traps and merchandising stuff, we’re talking about Diablo here.
I know there’s people around here who think Diablo 3 was absolute trash but it’s still been a game that sold very well even post-launch after all the Diablo 2 fans got upset about it. It’s one of the best selling games of all time, and it was the fastest selling PC game of all time on launch based just on the brand name.
Diablo isn’t a franchise that needs to hide from other brands.
I was triggered by the thread title.
Like encouraging get things released just to compete with another title and eat it’s piece of pie.
More than about this game or gaming or merchandising it’s the attitude itself that can apply to any area of life what’s making me vomit.
Let Cyberpunk have its moments of glory and let the Diablo team work and do whatever they need to do to deliver something authentic good because they feel it’s really good enough to be released.
Believe me if they release D4 just to compete with another title and stuff it’s going to be a failure and that’s all it’s going to do: eat the audiences in the first days and then be forgotten forever. Because the reason it was released wasn’t because it was ready and good and everyone on the team satisfied of the work they have being doing. The reason was a stupid competition with another title and ridiculous pressures of twitch viewers.
Really makes me sad to see people supporting these argumets. that’s it.
Dethroned!
As the latest expansion for Blizzard’s unstoppable MMORPG, World Of Warcraft: Shadowlands seems to have gone down quite well. So well, in fact, that the publishers have declared it the fastest-selling PC game ever released with 3.7 million first day sales, beating out the company’s own previous record-holder, Diablo 3, beating out its 3.5 million day one sales high set all the way back in 2012.
Such a shame the game is dead in two days ^^
There is a long timeline of being done.
For some of us, D4 is already done. For others it would be done when campaign is fully finished. For others it would be when all systems from previous games are there. For others it would be when the game is completely polished.
D4 could be in the being done state from now until 2025. However, if they decide to release it with/after CPO, they are to suffer serious losses. That’s it.
Well for folks who consider Diablo 4 already done, like yourself, you’re just going to have to wait (probably some time after CPO) as Blizzard obviously doesn’t agree and in fact still considers Diablo 4 to be in active developement with most of the things they’ve shown us to not be final.
As always, please remember that none of this is final as the game is still actively in development. Your constructive discussions around these features will help Diablo IV’s development the most, and we greatly appreciate all your continued support and discussion related to the game.

I can make it into beta, you never know.
As for the release, it definitely comes before CPO (you know I am open to betting on this).
swords and demons verses pew pew pew
Not even the same genre. lol
Beta isn’t release, besides there isn’t even a beta out for the game. But if you do, good for you; I’m guessing the chance would be low for almost anyone on these forums to get into beta.
Doubtful, but by all means continue believing. Time will certainly tell in the end.
