Cyberpunk Online marks the deadline for Diablo 4

It’s going to change its profits, in a bad way. You get that?

People will play a game so long as it’s good.

You’re acting like this is some huge impossible hurdle when we have games in 2020 that were fantastic on launch like Doom Eternal.

Hell Cyberpunk 2077 itself was announced over 8 years ago and here you are talking about how it’s going to steal the show.

You keep talking like Diablo 4 has the potential to be the big online thing everyone is gonna jump into.

You do realize that a isometric clicky game where the ingame activities are basically restricted to killing monsters and nothing else doesn’t have the same mass apeal as an immersive story driven 3d open world game, right?

As the greatest genius in the history of the gaming industry, Shigeru Miyamoto, once said: “a delayed game is eventually good but a rushed game is forever bad”

It’s amazing that you seem think that Diablo 4 won’t be played if it’s released after 2023, when that couldn’t be further from the truth. The game could be released in 1-5 years from now and still see a sizable playerbase at launch. However whether or not it keeps that Playerbase will depend on how good the game is at launch. If the game is bad at launch, then you’re least likely to see returning players when it comes to updates or events; on the other hand, if the game is good at launch, then you’re more likely to see returning players.

You certainly don’t cook a meal halfway through and serve it to people despite it being undercooked, that’s what you’re suggesting Blizzard do with Diablo 4.

A quick Google search suggests a horribly tone-deaf marketing department more than anything else, in my opinion.

Also apparently people were upset about that mix it up poster, but that just sounds like the cyberpunk genre being the cyberpunk genre. Complaining that a cyberpunk game has rampant exploitative corporatism is kind of like complaining that Call of Duty has guns.

Game market is way more competitive now. And CP Online time will come too one day - AI driven games generation would be its killer.

Yes, it has. It has great setting and if they max out the procedural part on everything, it would have that potential.

It’s not bad now, when in Alpha, how could it be bad at launch?

But according to your logic CPO wont be good because they’ll have taken 10 years and better games will be out by then.

What will be bad is if Blizzard rushes out the game and releases something at best mediocre that people stop caring about 1 month later.

For more information on that, see Anthem.

Considering that there have already been a number of changes to Diablo 4 since Blizzcon. I’m pretty sure that the game is anywhere but good. So yeah, they can take all the time they need.

That was a game I was looking forward to playing, but the issues that plagued that game kept me from getting it, and quite honestly, it’s truly a shame as that game had potential.

They’ll take time from CP release until CP Online release - that’s 2 years, not 10.

Jay Wilson is not on the team, stay calm.

Yeah I was really looking forward to it myself.

These days I forget it exists half the time.

CP as a whole has been in development 8 years which includes stuff for the online mode.

I don’t think Jay Wilson was on the Anthem team, either.

Thats wonderfully for them . I dont care for the game , wont be playing it and reported you for mindless advertisement in D3 forums

You don’t use dogwhistle for comedy. They knew what they were doing.

No it wouldn’t. Diablo always was and always will be a secondary game for the vast majority of people.

Or No Man’s Sky. Game had a terrible launch and as a result still carries the stigma of being a horrible game even though the devs actually fixed it later and it’s decent now.

Yes, and they thought they were funny.

That doesn’t make it outdated, however. But if you start making a game now and release it in 2025 it will be.

Are you 100% sure about it haha? What’s Anthem btw, aRPG?

Why would they be angry I advertise D4 in the D3 forum?

No, actually fully randomized AI driven games are the future. Diablo set the foundations.

No it didn’t. The whole procedural gen thing has been done since Rogue in the IBM mainframes. Hence why most of the games who include those elements came to be known as “roguelikes”. So no, they’re not the future, they’ve been there since even before video game consoles.

It’s a looter shooter. In a way, it’s more similar to Diablo than Cyberpunk online will ever be.

U advertise Cyberpunk you noodle . D4 is fine this is a Diablo Not a Cyberpunk forum . If you wana chat that game go there and leave us be

It wont be outdated if it’s a good game.

This “release it in 2025” thing is also just a number you’re completely make up. They would not necessarily need to release it in 2025.

That on top of the fact that CPO is an afterthought. The single-player is the main event to Cyberpunk 2077. It’s why most of us are sitting on the hype train.

It’s a game from BioWare that was supposed to be another one of those 10 year live service looter shooter games. It even looked quite promising.

but it was very clearly not finished on release, and it had a pretty lengthy dev cycle.

Part of these. The other part is the AI.

You mean I advertise the most hyped game in history which has been 8 years in development and everyone’s cat knows about?

It’s a realistic number for when Diablo 4 will be fully polished.

What AI? The bots playing the game for you?

You either give a source on that, or it is indeed a number you made up.

No. AI driven game.

My knowledge on the aRPG topic - best source you can find on the Internet.
