Are you sure your video had proof? Dependent on the video capture software used for streaming, things may look a smidgen different.
Yup. Sent in 4 different ones, all showing autosalvage from the character stash and purchase from kadala
I believe u can play on same acc which got banned before though? U can buy a new license on the same acc after u got banned so i dont think the bnet tag change? Its just the game license which gets banned not your bnet acc. Im not 100% sure though.
However the previous record would get removed as soon as u log in after being banned. Aka being removed from LB etc.
Needless to say, I do not know all the ins and outs of bans since I have never been banned from any video game in my entire life.
That is why I stated to check the D3 in game profile page. I have seen D3 cases, where a banned cheater will use a freshly purchased account with highly.similar battletag (I mean one where the “first” name is identical that is before the numbers but the end/number part of the battltag is different.
What? I was referring to why the trolls do what they do. There is always a reason whether it is simply attention or to defend cheating. These types of posts and perspectives are easy to spot and annoying to scroll through.
Interesting… So why are there cheaters on the boards currently and from past seasons? I haven’t seen specific clarity or frequent enough action against cheaters breaking the rules.
I think, attached to a new account, the number behind the name will change? Since it is a new licens
Yeah figured this much or perhaps maxroll can’t update to a new one? Might show the old one still
For clarity the current battletag listed in game and in maxroll is 100% identical to the old battletag that you reported last season?
This includes the name and its numbrrs.
I can’t see the battletag number in game, however the characters he got is identical
If you’re looking to figure out what is, or is not, against the rules, go read the rules. We have CoC’s and EULA’s and ToS documents. Go read them.
If you’re looking to find out if those things are enforced, go get yourself some hacks and submit proof of you using them, directly to Blizzard. But we all know you won’t do that, because it’s much easier to spread haterade all over the internet than it is to actually risk something to prove yourself in the right.
And since you KNOW you’re not in the right, you’ll never do it.
There are huge retroactive ban waves on asian server. You guys usually takes pinch of salt if its non EU/NA related, but Blizzard is a global company. Less action on EU/NA doesnt mean theres isnt any action. Asia were known to not enforcing banning where NA was most strict followed by EU and attracted a lot of NA player base after the 2019 NS ban wave.
If you recall what Blizzard comments were, they prefer to ban BIG and less frequent so botting companies/clients “evolve” less frequently. What ever it is, it worked and shut down rosbot global server for good which unable to do so back in the time where demonbuddy was taken down. What happens with China Rosbot is another legal battle. Given time, its gonna fade naturally as well due to reduced markets.
End of day banning is just 1 solution. As I posted for years, reduced incentives or even remove botting capability is longer term solution. For example, you can not bot Enmity of Visions. Why cant any other content remove how botting works fundamentally and mechanically?
I am not here to start a new debate, its beating your dead horse. But there are more than 1 angle of perception / solution. End of day, as gamers we all seek as fair play environment as possibly can.
Quite the assumption there buddy lol. I guess you are new to these anti cheat discussions.
What an excellent idea. Violate the rules to see if they are enforced…
Meanwhile back on earth, the cheaters are not enforced enough regardless of what the ToS says or how clear the verbiage is. The issue is selective enforcement doesn’t work. The cheaters are still doing their thing season after season.
Yes I do remember. They used vague safe terminology as they’re supposed to. But they never spoke about their frequency so I cannot jump on that perspective with you.
Agreed, but when the current “fair play” environment is losing the war against cheaters, we need change, hence threads like these.
The best and easiest thing to do is try something new with the resources available. If resources are lacking, which I believe, then let the community chime in and help. I believe there are enough legit D3 players to help keep things “fair”, but would need some type of in game option, not emailing proofs, which isn’t viable.
If you’re not even going to read the rules, why are you discussing them? Do you even know what they say in those documents?
I’m probably older than you, but ironically I’m more in touch than you seem to be regarding offensive cyber security. That says more about you than it does me.
I’m glad you agree it’s an excellent idea.
And now the goalposts get pulled over for speeding. “Well, the rules just aren’t enforced ENOUGH” but they ARE enforced, BY blizzard, WHEN they decide they have enough hard evidence to enforce them. It just so happens that YOU are not in control of literally any of that process. And it makes you angry.
That’s literally all this is about. You snitched on some idiots because you feel it’s unfair. And while I don’t condone cheating, the reality is this world is cruel and inhumane. You know what “Fair” is? “Fair” is a 4-letter F word and I never want to hear such obscenities from your mouth again, whippersnapper.
Get off my lawn, I’ve got to re-up on my Werther’s Originals™
How do you see that happening, this sounds like drum head trials indeed. In general the public is not that smart and there is a lot of mob mentality. Sometimes there is clear evidence, and alot of the time there isnt, there are a few accounts (some do it every season) that are clear cheaters, but there are alot of not clear, who do not have an excessive amount of hours played or do not stream. And yet there are alot of players/posters that jump conclusion and say things like the leaderboard is overrun by cheaters, and see cheaters around every corner merely by judging people who do not play like them, for example if a person plays 12h/d or hasnt done much bounties, or he did a lot of bounties etc.
Blizzard has all the data, they are doing banwaves, game is in maintanence, be happy with what they are still doing for this 11y old game.
Dude, it was sarcasm! I am well aware of the rules and how they state no third party software is allowed. The point if this discussion is that these awkwardly worded rules are hardly enforced enough to make a difference or discourage cheaters from continuing to break the rules.
You have no idea lol, statements like this don’t aid to the discussion in any way. Join it or start your own discussion on how your cyber IT skills trump others.
This is a broader discussion for a more mature serious conversation about enforcement not being upheld.
If you’re of the opinion that the only thing encouraging cheaters is the “awkward wording” of the rules, you clearly don’t understand your enemy.
Even the original creator of turbohud, who on his website allegedly proclaimed “all Blizz has to do is send me an email telling me to stop and I’ll take it down forever” was completely 100% ignoring the rules that, in your OWN words, proclaim “no third party sofware is allowed.”
And THEN he sold the software to a botting company. After years of allegedly making tons of changes to his hud specifically to try and make it “unbottable.”
Yea man, what we need is big boi words in the ToS to scare people like that straight. THAT will show 'em what for! /sarcasm

If you think people are cheating, report them. If they’re still there after several months, there are three possibilities:
1.) They weren’t actually cheating
2.) Blizz doesn’t care
3.) Blizz is waiting to ban them in a wave
Regardless of which one of those possibilities is true, there’s literally nothing of consequence you can do after that.
There are people botting like crazy in this game and have been for years.
Have they been reported? See my post above.
If it has literally been years, and it’s literally the exact same unactioned account “played” (botted?) by the exact same person, then most likely, this falls under category 2: “Blizz doesn’t care”
Which isn’t a good thing, and isn’t an excuse to cheat. It’s just a cold reality of a de-prioritized game. What exactly do people think is going to happen? Microsoft executive #66 isn’t going to look at this specific thread and go “well golly gee, we better UN-fire those thousand or so customer service people and get them to work banning bots! We sure wouldn’t want to disappoint forum personality ‘METALHEAD’ because he seems like a valuable member of the community that we make TONS of money from!”
Idk man they bot like crazy in D2 as well apparently. I’m sure Blizzard tries to do something about it but they just get new accounts.
Have they been reported? See my post above.
If you want to keep botters out of the game, you have to remove their incentive to bot. This means either making the game less appealing to botters, or making it harder for botters to buy re-entry to the game.
And you’re NOT going to have an easy time convincing Microsoft Executive #66 to do either of those things, if they cost money to implement.
Idk probably not. Microsoft is a giant megacorporation and Blizzard is just part of the overall corporation that was bought and no longer exists. I mean it’s the biggest thing they’ve bought in a long time, but it’s also a tiny fraction of MS’s total worth of 3 trillion I think.
Hell I don’t even know if Blizzard is tied in anyway to Activision anymore or needs to be.
