Can we at least get better loot distribution?

Can you name one? I can not recall any game at that time with personal loot.

All of that is opinion, and has nothing with diablo 2 have FFA loot, or if it was planned, or wanted or the goal… just games commonly didn’t do x, was diablo 2 not a ground breaking game, so therefore no games did what diablo 2 did. You are arguing a point on belief not actual evidence.

Do these people even realize that they’re only going to see one legendary drop per week? Or do they seriously think this is D3?

I dunno, you would think the greatest loot based game created, and carried that torch forever, maybe did it’s loot system in a way that kept people engaged, but nahhh let’s change it to what every other game does.

The entire reason for D2R is to bring back D2 with good graphics. There is absolutely nothing weird about wanting to play D2 with better graphics. You know that’s why this project even began?

Just go play Diablo 2? It’s still right there. It’s not going anywhere.

And what Micro posted summarizes it better than I could. If changing the loot system breaks Diablo 2 for you, maybe you just aren’t as much of a fan as you claim. Fans should be able to acknowledge both the good and the bad about what they like, to suggest improvements while keeping the original spirit and purpose of the game alive.

Nothing about Diablo 2’s original spirit and purpose was about spamclicking to take all the loot for yourself and screwing everyone else over.

No one wants to stare at those dated visuals anymore Drium! Better graphics D2 is the entire reason for D2R, guy!

Then it shouldn’t matter if loot is changed or not. You’re still getting D2 with better graphics. But changing the loot will make the game more appealing, groups easier to find, group play more beneficial, and interactions way less toxic, all the while discouraging cheating and third party softwares to click for you.

Just add in a countermeasure to people leeching boss kills for loot and you’re done.

I don’t want personal loot, I just don’t want how fast I can give myself carpal tunnel to be what determines if I get items or not this run.

Loot is not gona change in D2R.

But for the sake of conversation.

Let’s assume they would turn D2R upside down and introduce “personal loot”.

Are you saying the best way of playing D2R is to purchase 8 accounts, gear up one single character by doing 1-2 boss runs per act, per difficulty, and get 8x the loot funnelled to your main-character?

I am not sure, did I miss the memo? Did the Dev’s say they want to make D2R Pay-To-Win?

D2 is already pay-to-win, there’s grey markets where you can buy items for real life money.

Doesn’t discourage cheating or third party software at all, if it was bind on drop sure, but all these bots can do this in private, 8 man games… creating better software to prevent bots can help sure, but switching to personal loot has nothing to do with that.

So because 0.001% of the playerbase buys their gear on third party websites, we turn D2R into Pay-To-Win for the remaining 99,999%?

That’s a great idea, you should send your resume to Blizzard.

Only 0.001% of the playerbase would do something as ridiculous as buy 8 accounts and 8-box runs. So I’m not sure I see your point, your argument is exactly as far-fetched.

If I can buy 8 copies, and just set them on follow I’ll be getting gear much easier in personal drop setup, don’t even have to worry about competing with others if I join their game, I’m just increasing my odds against them… hell I can leave the drops on the ground the whole game and just clean up later.

Then do that? Have fun playing alone I guess? You just gave Blizzard like 500$ so you could 8-box, I don’t see the problem here. Thanks for supporting the game? Like seriously, people are gonna do that anyway. With or without personal loot, there will be heavy botters.

Not even multi-box.

Start the game, enter chaos, clear star, enter with your other 7 characters loaded up with MF gear and park in corner. Finish clearing Chaos and Diablo or Baal. Rinse and Repeat.

Your idea of personal loot is worthy of a nobel price. Those idiots from Blizzard North had no idea what they’re doing. D2 is such a bad game, and they decided to remaster it? Such fools no? ^^

but in an 8 man situation with a human in FFA there is no way they can click on all virtual machines without a bot/script going which can be caught, you are literally making it easier to cheat.

Actually if you read my posts you would know I never suggested personal loot in the first place, so good job showing us all you barged in here without reading a single post just to troll. :V

You argued the points for it, no matter the reason you started this, you argued for it which you are apparently backing out of now.

EDIT: Alright I’ll back off, I just wanted actually reasons and not feelings of how it would work out, personal loot not bound on pickup can be exploited by using multiple accounts, and if you don’t think people in the past had multiple accounts you did not play with others. Most people I knew had one other set of keys for a mule account.

This is literally the original D2. It runs on top of the same exact system. Hence why powerleveling is capped with quest points, skill trees are tiered, cow level is obsolete, and nobody does Mephisto runs anymore. If they went back to the proper roots they would’ve fixed all that, but they didn’t, lest we forget totems which takes up all the space in your inventory. Not that you would know anything about that.
