Can I have it?
Equity bro
Your “solution” is deliberately worse than what we have now just for the sake of strawmanning, as you have no interest in really defending it or discussing, so of course your only response is to claim that criticisms are shallow and inane.
I already traded it away. Easy come, easy go. x)
umm… players 8 inst “only” bad because it inflates the economy… in fact that’s one of the smallest issues it makes…
the much bigger issue is how it rewards players for not playing together.
and how it would utterly destroy build diversity and force everyone into one of the 6(ish) builds that can quickly solo clear players 8…
right now pretty much any build can clear players 1 with items…
but almost nothing can clear players 8
and yeah those that can clear players 8 can clear like maybe 50% faster to even twice as fast on a good day.
but the different between players 8 loot and players 1 loot is huge.
people already do baal runs because its the most efficient rather than the most fun…
your idea is to make it so the ONLY builds that can even be used to farm are the best of the best…
what makes d2 one of the best games of all time is it DOESN’T have insane power creep.
as soon as u add that players 8 power creep and REWARD IT by extra loot and exp… then u totally gut all build diversity.
people are already rewarded for playing the most OP stuff in terms if slightly better clear speed, and u want to completely blow it out of the water
adding players 8 loot in players 1 with no exp bonus would be FAR less damaging to the game than just “adding /players 8”
because at least them u wouldn’t totally gut build diversity
It’s been brought up, repeatedly. They don’t care.
D2 will remain a solo player experience while online outside of leveling and PVP while there is no Ploot option as FFA kills all incentives for group play. This is not my opinion, it’s the current state of the game for the last 15 years. I don’t see how adding an option at game creation for FFA or Ploot would be that bad, especially with the addition of a harder game mode to incentivize group play.
If you are a solo online player, this Ploot does not affect you at all.
It’s not an assumption that melee has a better opportunity to pick up items vs. casters in group play, or that pickit exists and people use it, or that some people have better internet than others so they can grab loot faster…
Further exacerbated by the disproportionately lower loot increase per increase in player count. 8 players in a game doesn’t mean 8x the drops unless all 8 players literally go 8 separate ways.
And don’t forget the new problem introduced in D2:R - controllers!
And happen to clear at the same speed as on P1… so no: not possible at all in my opinion. Playing in groups currently lowers the loot per person, no matter how it is done.
Considering how low I find drop rates to be when I play alone… I expect to get literally nothing when I play in groups. (Kind of silly for a loot-centric game)
Everyone CAN already find their own Shaco… it’s called playing the game. I have like 4 of the things sitting on a mule and wearing 2.
So you contradict your own hypothetical.
Not at all. Currently the game rewards the people that put time into it for doing so. The changes would just be making it rain like candy for the bads. I have enough socialism crap to listen to on the news. I don’t need it in my gaming.
… you can’t just spit hard truth out like that, some of us are drinking near electronics.
I just want game sniping to end. And limiting levels of people that can join is not an answer because one wants to always keep the opportunity for someone to rush them through in quest games for the most part.
People are sniping games like this anyway, so /players x is already defacto in the game. Adding a direct command would just streamline it and get them out of sniping other people’s games.
It wouldn’t really have any effect on bots because they already use eight accounts in a game anyway to farm. So, virtually no economic impact. Just eliminating people sniping every game on the list.
How do the “bads” clear p8 with enough speed to make it more efficient? If one is bad, p8 is difficult and the efficiency would be less.
Also, raining from the sky…
In a 1 player game at p1, the odds that Hell Baal Drops a ber is 1 in 55,140.
In a p8 game, it is 1 in 50,225.
Clearly, loot is not raining from the sky.
Go to maxroll.gg and look at the drop calculator.
If that “bad” player now takes 15 seconds (on p8) rather 13 seconds on p1 to kill Baal, they would be less efficient and get LESS ber runes per unit time.
So now resorting to hyperbolic falsehood.

Come to think of it, this will never happen because it will lower Blizzard’s profit. The revenue they generate from botters is huge. Every bannwave, the botters have to buy all these new accounts to support /players 8 games. They won’t have to buy so many if they can just use /players 8.
So this will never happen. It just hit me. Pointless to talk about. Oh well.
ROFL “rain like candy”. These damn kids want a worthwhile piece of loot every 10-12 hours of play on P8 instead of every 15-25 on P1. Damn meddling kids! loot raining from the key
Play pally… put concentration on r-mouse… hold shift left mouse?
It’s 2.5x drop rate from places like pits my dudegirl.
you people need to stop using site like “maxroll.gg”
and actually learn how the game works.
baal is guaranteed to drop items, and has a very high chance of dropping a high amount of items even at a lower player count… besides u aren’t killing baal for HR
" /players 8" increase the chance a monster WILL drop an item…
monster that prevoius roll to drop 1 item may from 2 or 3… monster that may roll to drop no item may end up rolling to drop and item or 2
monster like Baal which usually drop 3-4 may drop 5-6
but if you kill Baal you get only maybe1-2 more drops from a a single mob
if u clear a an area like pit that 1-2 more items is STILL on every single little mob you killed
using “baal” as an example is just showing you don’t understand how “/players 8”
functions
its effect on bosses is less simply because adding one to two drops on a monster which take a while to kill is no where near as efficient as killing 20-30 monster each with a change to drop 1-2 more items in the same amount of time
literally EVERY SINGLE TIME
i see people mention “maxroll.gg” they allow follow it up by provide some completely inaccurate info, or info that is being used in completely the wrong context to make a point that doesn’t remotely represent whats actually happens in game.
this has happened 3 times in as many days
