I’d be fine if we can buy up to 8 copies of the game and just run them in multi windows if you want to do it solo, hopefully they’ll be able to do that like the WoW instances
I don’t think anyone’s complaining about the scenario you mentioned, per se, but here’s my recent example: joined a game for A2 Nightmare, clearly no one had waypoints and we’re in Lost City walking. Some sorceress joins the server, goes to arcane sanc, kills summoner, then quits 5 seconds later and none of us can complete the quest now.
Sure it’s an open game and people can do whatever they want, but these interactions either result in people playing solo, or living long enough to become the villain. I’m almost to the villain point.
how about a RESET button ? you talk to tyrael and he resets all the acts where nobody is in the act. That way you keep a full party going without creating more games, so even if meph dies you benefit from players8. and there is a reset every few minutes. dont have to delete/create games. alot easier on the servers. and people can actually stick in a game together instead of parasiting
thats becouse alot of the fan boys of this game are relising they over-hyped and over promoted this game, its not one of the best RPGS of all time like some ppl claim
the loot system isnt nearly as good as many of these fan boys claim
the community of this company (Blizzard) always been a bunch of fan boys, I Still hear peeps saying WoW is the first and only great MMORPG out there like ROFLMAO!
It is a personal opinion if you believe this is the best rpg or not and it is the same with World of Warcraft. The games you think is the best makes you a fanboy to those games if you talk trash about other games. Diablo2 and WoW was my childhood and the games I played with my friends so they are up there with the best in my opinion.
You make an OPEN game you get people behaving like it is an OPEN game.
If you make a Baal run and someone hop in to kill Andariel or any other monster / area you will still profit from his presence in terms of XP / drops. If you can’t kill Baal on your own and made a Baal run expecting someone would kill it for you maybe state this in the game name or at least try and communicate.
Botton line: game is open, people will enter and do as they please, what’s toxic is believing that the name of your game is law.
you can make good comparisions and arguements rather a game is good or not, Buggie out of date systems toxic community poor loot/trade system terrible balance issues
yeah no you can make good professional arguements ppl just dont wanna use there brain to do so.
And yet professionals all say Diablo 2 is a great. Look it up.
Out of date systems? Who would have knew when talking about a 21 years old game? Toxic community? Believe me, you know nothing about a toxic community if you feel this one is toxic.
That said you’re free to dislike the game, does not mean the game is bad tho. What it feels to me is a lot of salt from soneone that bought the game without researching it first and that’s on you there because there has been content about this game online for the past 21 years.
Players 8 in non ladder mp would solve a lot of issues. Public games wouldn’t be such a mess, mfers would have the drop rates they want (and not have to screw quest games), and players like me who only do mp so they can occasionally play with close friends could get the benefits we miss from sp (which we are effectively playing most of the time)
Yeah I’m ngl I do this, but I always do it in reverse. I figure if someone is in a higher act they’re not using the acts before and it doesn’t affect them. If you’re engaging in that behavior youre a jerk.
Someone suggests /players 8
Angry mob of people who bought x4 accounts to fake /players 4 complains that it would ruin the game
strange logic noises
You are mad because you can’t leech in a baal game instead of making your own baal game? Please wait while I laugh at your dismay.
I’ve noticed a lot of really parasitic and toxic behaviors as a result of not having this capability online.
That is not parasitic nor toxic . Its just efficacy. And lets be complete honest here, 99% of the people that join those game are hoping for a free carry.
-People make a baal run and don’t actually go to baal, they’re just hoping for the game to fill up so they get more drops and exp running something else.
They dont have to hope, you get all the vacuum cleaners coming in attemping to garb loot and exp.
-People making bogus trade games or questing games just to lure people in.
And you dont have to join. They join looking for a free carry. See all those free ber runes games? It gets flooded because people are looking for free shiz.
-Every questing game lately will have multiple high level players competing for different areas and sometimes even pking each other fighting over chaos or something.
Then you do it in a private game. Oh wait you need someone else to carry you though that content.
Like, come on. Add players 8 already, this is getting ridiculous and ruining the experience for people.
Part of the game is not only to loot but to denied other people loot.
Dunno. I would be accepting of a modified players8 option (like no XP but increased loot drop), but I don’t see they community being any worse then how it was back then.
If anything its probably just exacerbated due to one: more players playing, two: information more available easier on the interwebz.
But this behavior has always been there, and I still do the same things to avoid it. Play solo (with my alt account logged in for players2), play with a few buddies of mine, or accept the abuse that will happen in an open game.
I never make open games just to play, because people are retarded. If I join a baal run, I assume I won’t get any loot before it all Dissappears. And I assume that I will never fully enjoy a pub run. or get what I want out of it. That’s been d2 since I started playing, and that’s been since it released.
CAN’T STRESS THIS ENOUGH. We needs /players 8. Or at least players4.
“carry carry carry”
That’s not a concept in Diablo 2. Maybe it is in competitive online games. In Diablo 2, you always pay it forward. Sure, more dedicated players will lead the pack, and they’ll give away some second-hand items and help with some quests to help the lower levels catch up. Then when those players catch up, they’ll help the ones behind them. Then you get into the mid-season where people start making their 2nd and 3rd and 4th chars, and there’s always some questing, rushing, and xp runs going on. Everyone has a vested interest in keeping the activities going. With the attitude you’re putting out, it’d be like “ugh, a level 6 joined my trist runs, but I’m level 13. I don’t want to carry him, what a noob.”
This game has been out so long I’m sure almost everyone has done a fair share of “carrying” by now. I’ve teled baal runs, rushed people for free, given away runewords, and I have received all those things as well.
But I have also seen the unfair side of things. I’ve fallen for trade scams, had “rush for forge” people leave after act 3, been pk’d by kids with hacked items, etc… but I can’t even remember much of that. And yes, some players aren’t grateful for the generosity they receive from others. I once hell rushed a guy, even gave him izual and anya, and he didn’t even say “thx” =( That taught me to never carry again!
This new trend of MFing in pub games, using fake game names to bait people, or interfering in other’s games when they set it up for a specific purpose, is a nuisance. I wouldn’t say it’s toxic but it smells bad. Any online community needs to develop and protect its own culture, and this is something I would help fight against rather than excuse or accept.
Don’t need to add player 8, just scan the number of players by area and not by game.
You want to join a pub game to MF in a different zone? NP, you get player 1 benefit.
You clearly know very little about this game to say tis. Sure it is not a competitive game but a ton of players are unable to finish the game without being carried. This was always the case and always will be the case.
Really? I literally never heard anyone say “carry” or complain in any other words about anyone who’s seemingly not pulling their weight in the party while playing D2, and I’ve put in maybe 1000 hours or so. I was on US West if that explains the difference. I did notice “carry” in D3. Either the idea was around in D2’s era, or it trickled back from D3 (or other games like LoL). Whatever the case, I explained how carrying shouldn’t matter if people play cooperatively and with clear intentions.
Because you neber heard of it does not mean it is not used. To be carried means someone else does something for you that you can’t, this is not some term that was invented for competitive play.
I remember very well carrying or being carried while playing D2 20 years ago.
That’s whishful thinking, the subject is clearly people joining a boss run in the hope of being carried. Of course, when you play with friends it is different, on open games online asking for people to cooperate is the same as asking the LoL community not to be toxic, it will rarely happen.F
