The game is crashing and closing to desktop every single game after approximately 10 minutes regardless of what activities I am carrying out. Same story as hundreds of other players. I submitted a ticket yesterday and got a response earlier (thanks for that) confirming the issues are with the game itself and not on my side. See below:
After taking a look, it appears that you are crashing due to bugs within Diablo 2 Resurrected. This is being investigated by the bug team and should hopefully be resolved as soon as possible. We don’t have any ETA or quick fixes so in this case, the only thing we can suggest is to keep an eye on the forums and wait for the next update:
I have installed the new patch V 1.0.66381 and regret to inform you it’s changed NOTHING and is still crashing to desktop after 10 minutes every single game whether it’s online or offline!
yeah same thing here too except I play a lot longer than 10 mins.
gonna uninstall the whole game for a third time and redownload and install it as fresh again see if anything changes, but I highly doubt it. Also just for the heck of it going to reinstall battle.net app as well
EDIT: did not help. another crash. What it did do oddly enough is make my card run a few degrees hotter than it was prior. makes no sense. settings are exactly the same
I think the latest patch actually made it worse… Everyday server issues, server crashes, rollbacks, characters and items loss… I honestly think the D2R team should make a public apology and give a percentage refund to all current customers.
At this point I’ve gone past being pissed off… fed up with trying and tired of getting the same results over and over again. Essentially my only option is to forget the game for an unspecified amount of time (it’s already been 3 weeks ffs, so what 3 more weeks? 4?) and wait for them to actually FIX the game I’ve paid for and can’t get on… a refund is out of the question as well!
^ Been there and done that. Had an almost level 90 die to a crash on cows a couple of weeks ago. I thought ok - i’ll play SC while the issues are fixed and guess what - the crashes have literally got x10 worse to the point I can’t play the game at all.
It’s an absolute disgrace. Complete lack of clarity/info. Completely broken game. No ETA. No ideas. No server infrastructure. How tf did it get to this? 100% will not be buying D4 on release.
My crashes happen frequent but inconsistent, I have both been sent to desktop with some error, with the option to “send to Blizzard” as well as mid freeze into the game where I am basically sitting duck, and need to open my task manager to kill, and restart. I’m not sure what’s going on, but looking at my logs, I see a bunch of:
13:06:18.662 sFillLocation() - Attempt to access out of bounds index -1, ptRoomInfo->nIdCurr = 16
And the number at the end continues to increment. I also get this:
14:07:34.207 WARNING: Invalid index in ITEMSRecalculateSetItemSpecificMods. See: 0
I definitely crash more often than I have these logs which is under \GameLogs folder.
Same here, I saw the new patch so thought I’d give it a shot just to see and… CTD in less than 10 minutes, as per usual.
Mine seems to be dependent on scenery, I’m much more stable in the open fields of Act 1 than the Barracks / Jail. It is so bad that I have yet to make it to the Inner Cloister on any character, because I can’t get to the next w/p before a crash.
It’s so sad that they’ve done this to such an epic game. It was really a high point in PC gaming history if you think about it.
For me it is rock solid stable, and that is even with an OCed 1070TI GPU. Never had a single crash the entire time I have been playing, both offline and online.
What GPUs you guys using?
That first one is trying to access a non-existant item in an array. That would cause a fatal error and close the program. The second one is a warning, and won’t crash the game, in fact it might not even have any harmful effects, depending on what is actually being done.
These types of problems would have to be within the game engine code though…and there are a lot of people not having these problems.
I’m pretty sure the game has a memory leak and it’s just becoming more frequent of an issue because the game uses a lot more memory than the original did.
Just out of curiousity, if you don’t mind sharing, how much RAM and VRAM do you have?
