I think 100% of the fun of diablo is teleporting. I do not want to play diablo without it and im glad blizzard put it in the enigma runeword. Im glad it’s here to stay.
Teleport needs to stay as it is. So does Enigma.
I wouldn’t worry about Teleport. At best it’s mod lovers upset the D2R graphical update pulled players away from their favorite iteration of D2:LoD, at worst it’s just trolls. They’re never touching teleport or Enigma and quite honestly, I put personal loot as a more probable occurrence. We all know that ain’t happening either so.
Teleport lv1 should have 2 seconds cooldown and every point should reduce it by 0.1 to 0s at lv 20
At least everyone can get teleport. If you play long enough your going to end up with an enigma at some point.
Well, people who vote for nerving teleport are obviously non sorc players AND too casual to aquire Enigma In any case, it will all stay as it is as we all know.

The main problem with Enigma and high-level RWs in general is that they’re pretty much unobtainable to most people without doing RMT/JSP.
If there would be some sort of effort/reward balance it’d be no problem but the fact that you can play the entire season and not get Enigma vs the guy who killed 500 mobs on Hell and got Ber & Jah back to back.
Trading is a huge part of online play. There are a lot of people who play that don’t use jsp. They trade in game. I know I’m not the only one. Besides End game god tier items should be hard to get. Its not unobtainable though, by any means…
Wrong. Some classes cannot justify using an enigma without completely obliterating their ability to kill stuff, and one spec literally cannot even use teleport. You are showcasing that you do not actually understand the problem. Go play a crappy class.
I probably have twice as many hours as dark humility himself. I’ve built like 10 enigmas in hardcore, but they don’t work for my class without significantly nerf-bombing my kill speed. Other classes actually see a DPS increase by equipping it. I get about a 40% nerf because the stats on the armor do not do what fortitude or an armor with CB does, and therein lies the problem. Your understanding of the issue is not even there.
This…shifters aren’t the only problem, but they’re certainly the biggest disparity, and I don’t even play 1. The problem for other classes are ALMOST equally as bad though.
Please everyone try to understand that Enigma the way it’s currently designed is NOT GOOD for all class specs. The general stat bonuses are FINE to have for anybody, but they do not benefit some classes they way they do others. Most people don’t even realize that +2 to all skills on a bowzon, gives them 6 (yes, six) extra damage total across the board for about every skill they have. For a sorc, the last 2 points can be equal to about 900 damage.
Shifter druids literally can’t even use teleport. It’s disabled.
Teleport on a bowzon is so unbareably slow that it gets you killed more often than not because the FCR breakpoints cannot be achieved by zons in any logical fashion because IAS and FCR do not exist on the same pieces, and IF you do try to achieve higher FCR breakpoints, the only gear that can do it is coincidentally ALSO bad for your already crap damage. This means physical damage is out the window. If you want teleport on a bowzon, you get a 1,700 damage strafe, when even a 7k strafe STILL UNDERPERFORMS DRASTICALLY. It would literally take you 20 minutes to kill the 5th baal wave at that damage level…
So tell me how teleport is okay the way it is? Because sorcs and paladins and necromancers can zoom zoom 4 chaos runs down in the time it takes me just to get to the sanctuary.

Could bowazons need a buff? sure.
Do they suck like you describe them? No.
If you don’t believe me, google kimsulkis vids. P8 CS clear in okish time with enigma and faith.

They simply have to make a few basic changes. First teleport should have its FCR increased by hard points into teleport skill ONLY. Secondly teleport needs to be made line-of-sight castable to be even with other movement abilities and to prevent everyone simply playing sorc as was the case before.
There comes a time when the intestinal fortitude and strength of character is needed on the developers part to make these uncomfortable changes.
It may not feel good to be Clark Kent again once you’ve been superman, but this is the most important change they could make to balance the game and reduce the power gap between melee and casters.
It’s not what some of you want, but it’s what the game needs.
I can sense D3 player. Don’t use Enigma. Problem solved xD. I picked up m first copy of D2 in 1999 and played every possible class in 1.10 during dupe spree thanks to Enigma and Infility. Now in D2R due to high cost of Ber and Jah I don’t have any motivation to play anything other then Sorc and Paly. I’ve tried and only wasted my time.
Pointing out that certain runewords do not synergize with certain specs does not detract from the fact that Enigma is a runeword that can be used by any class.
It sounds more like a balance issue than an Enigma issue, because that’s what it is. Maybe instead of giving shapeshifters a complete rework of stats for Enigma they could just provide a bestial leap one point wonder that functions like teleport.
The whole problem with this “Teleport kills the game” angle, is the inescapable fact that the game has been holding strong for 20 years, and if teleport were to have really killed the game in any way beyond a nitpick, there wouldn’t be a D2R forum on which to discuss said threads merit.
To be fair I don’t think it’s actually killing the game, I have an enigma on a Javazon. I just really appreciate the level generation and general artwork of the game that I honestly wish all zones were 4x bigger too. I just think making moving on foot more competitive by balancing teleport would be good for the game itself.

Sorc is already so much ahead with teleport and good fcr breakpoints and damage, why punish all other classes?

D3 did the line of sight crap and it was for the worse.
Also you missed to explain WHY you even think this changes would be good. The game doesn’t need changes to teleport. It could use some alternatives to Enigma to provide teleport for the non sorc classes.
I mean.
Devs should test it.
Make teleport random like on Occulus – or give it a 4.2 second cast delay.
Add to test realm.
But, and this is a big but, improve drop chance of most high quality items by 3-4 times for bosses, and triple event key drops, to compensate.
Without teleport, you make players spend more time farming bosses.
More time spent for a total of lesser rewards – in a game where the main factor making people quit is not finding anything interesting that is good – is offputting.
Or just leave it alone. Game has been going for 2 decades. Think its fine.

It does have clans. You could join a PVP clan and have your own chat. And you could challenge other PVP clans, should Blizz go that direction.
D3 doesn’t have a lobby because the chat is much more sophisticated. And there are only 4-5 different activities. It’s much easier to find a MP game of like-minded individuals in D3. Split bounties, for instance, you just choose settings and join game. There’s always a game available at max difficulty.
