Probably where it is on purpose from blizzard themselves… Because the drop rate on these charms will probably be the same category as zod rune dropp.
Or I’m just not an idiot. Post reported.
It’s not an exlploit, it’s a bug. The only consequence that occurs now is a great shame by the devs.
So are you saying that everyone playing a Find Item barb should be banned, too?
They should have tested the drop rate of these charms on the PTR.
Save the ban hammer for scammers and botters.
Enjoy the game.
C’mon.
For anybody who didn’t know, this did way more damage than just sunder charms. People also used this bug, to farm super massive high ilvl grand charm skillers. Since the same unique item cannot drop in the same game twice, people were abusing this bug to non-stop farm skiller grand charms. Once they got a sunder charm, they just kept repeating the action to get huge grand charms, because the mobs would try to drop the sunder charms, but since the sunder charm was the only unique charm that can drop in the TZ, and it already dropped, it had to change it to a magic GC. The damage went WAYYYYY beyond just what sunder charms do.
He already helped others get them. The damage is done.
The EULA, and ALL history of bans for this in other games INCLUDING D2 says otherwise. The developers of World of Warcraft held the PLAYERS responsible for abusing a bug where a mob was dropping loot when it wasn’t supposed to, and banned THOUSANDS of players for doing it. This is the stance of blizzard, so you’re wrong.
It is, but the EULA also states that abusing a bug is SPECIFICALLY considered cheating, and he KNEW it was cheating because he read the developers comment ON HIS STREAM, then kept doing it anyways.
The skill is meant to be use. The bug is not. The difference is laid out in the EULA. Finding and abusing a bug is considered cheating in the EULA.
Developers already said it’s unintentional, so your post is inaccurate.
It’s not even a legitimate season, this is like playing on open battle net. I won’t even touch it. A ton of us won’t. Anybody who gets 99 this season like this is a complete fraud.
Won’t fix the problem, because of the problem mentioned before all these quotes.
Most of the people who put in the hours are guilty of cheating in this manner anyways.
Completely incorrect, because of the very top comment I left before all of these quotes.
Because he cheated in the same exact way that tens of thousands of blizzard players get banned for.
This is incorrect, and the EULA is proof. You are responsible, PER the EULA, to not abuse bugs. Bug abuse falls under the EULA category of cheating. Regardless if the bug exists because of them, or you, using it to gain an advantage is SPECIFIED as your fault. Stop being dishonest.
No it’s not. It’s actually completely not fine. It’s 100% a bannable offense.
Wrong, the EULA states that abusing a bug is the players fault by putting it under the category of CHEATING, and specifically states it will result in “HARSH PUNISHMENT”
Tell that to the tens of thousands of players blizzard has already banned for the SAME EXACT OFFENSE.
The EULA is clear on this matter. It’s bug abuse, which falls under cheating, which means you get either suspended or banned.
The devs said you’re wrong and that this is unintended. You can stop now.
This is exactly what I mean.
He KNEW about the bug, read the developers comment on his stream, and kept doing it anyways. He participated in obtaining items through a bug, so he cheated. Just like almost player involved. The offense is no different than using a map hack or a bot. It falls under the EULA’s exact same category.
This. Exactly this.
Read the top comment. They basically infinitely printed skillers with this bug too.
The solution is don’t pick up the sunder charms or simply stop horking in those zones until the bug is fixed. Being an honest human.
Pezradar (The global D2R community manager) spoke to Someone that told Pezradar on reddit, and said that he found a bug in the code with find item, and said this would happen. Pezradar responded to him and said “That’s not how it works”. Turns out, the guy was right, and it is how it worked, which means whatever they WERE going for, wasn’t this, and that THIS, was completely unintended. THEN, someone on reddit told Pezradar that it was actually happening at like 1AM, and Pez responded with "I let the team know, and they said they will look into it in the AM. The AM came and they hotfixed it. The fact that they hotfixed it means it was UNINTENTIONAL.
That’s not the bug. The bug is the drop rate. Bugs are always discovered by using a skill that’s intended to be in the game. When it causes ANYTHING to malfunction, it’s a bug. Knowing it’s a bug, and continuing to abuse it, is bug abuse, which is cheating, which means ban.
The bug was used to also farm literally, thousands of skillers. See top few sentences.
Their fault for letting it happen, but more importantly per the cheating policy, the players fault for abusing it. There are no innocent bystanders to this. If you are currently in possession of a sunder charm you got from horking, or skillers that came from it, you cheated. And now because trade happened so fast, it ruined it for everyone.
The bug caused a mass of thousands of skillers too, which are now in excessive circulation. See top comment.
They acknowledged it was, then hotfixed it, which means it was unintentional, so yes.
It was a bug that was exploited by players. That’s a ban per the EULA.
If they did it with the intent to farm the charms after realizing the drop rate by doing it was unnaturally high or after they became aware that it was unintended, then yes. They participated in exploiting a bug, which literally falls under the category of cheating in the EULA.
They also caused thousands of skillers to be printed using the same bug, since find item was pulling sunder charm, but since uniques can only exist 1 per game, every horked elite mob after the first one always dropped a super high level magic grand charm.
as I was saying as it was happening live, they needed to just stop and then reset with the fix’s. Only true way to save it. now it is giant storm
Another ladder completely ruined by Llama. He ruined the last one, and he’s ruined this one. This is going to be a problem every ladder reset. If he isn’t being given day one enigmas, or exploiting bugs for unfair advantages, he’s going to do something else. People like Llama can’t help themselves. They have this following, and it’s in their interest to be the best/first/richest players in the game. They will exploit everything they can, every time. People without thousands of fans won’t EVER be able to compete in a fair ladder season in this game. That is without Blizzard stepping in to make things right, which they won’t ever do. The only fix for this season is to remove all gc’s that have dropped so far, and I mean all of them, sorry to all the people who got them honestly, or to reset the season.
This.
Also, did they really respond to the broken Sunder charms on reddit first over their official forums? I was looking for a bluepost to address this almost all day yesterday over here. Did I miss it? Did Blizzard actually update reddit and other social media platforms first and only above their own official forums? Did they amend some previous post buried under other threads?
If that’s the case then this company has truly lost the plot. I was sticking around for D2R, but if they can’t even reset a ladder after flooding it with day 1 life/skiller/sunder charms, it’s time to just uninstall. It’s not that you make mistakes, it’s how you handle resolving those mistakes. I played WoW for over 15 years, OG Starcraft: BW, Starcraft II, Warcraft II / III / Frozen Throne, Diablo I, II:LoD, III, but I think it’s time to take ol’ Bnet out back and put it out of it’s misery. At least until Season 3 comes out. (Provided they don’t actually reset Season 2 ladder entirely).
Cheers.
This would make a great thread.
Blizzard does not ban other developers, come on now😂
Oh come on dude, this is just nonsense. Super massive high level charms you say? yeah right… not exactly as you would need high level for that. In the time when people farmed the charm practicaly nobody had it.
We got some magic grand charms but most of them is of course not skillers. And people mostly wanted sunder charms.
Also it was not a bug, Find item is working as it was designed, it was designed to work like that. There was not a bug in it at all. Find item ignores the no drop chance. It was just oversight. It would be like increasing level of Zombies on normal by mistake to 100 not knowing he can drop higher items and then say its bug that he is dropping high level items. Its obviously not a bug, just lack of knowledge about game mechanics.
Already explained above, it wasnt bug. Game was working as intended. Just people who made new treasure classes and set no drop forgot about “find item” skill.
I dont care what they said, they can say anything. This issue was discussed with people who actualy have deep knowledge about game mechanics and they agree that Find item worked as it was intended to work. Devs just forgot about that skill.
My thinking is, imagine if your a new player, don’t know the patch information or how things work but do know sunder charms are introduced. You play a horker and they start coming in. You could assume that’s intended or other classes have a similar mechanic.
You do it 10-20-100 times. Do you ban this guy, how do you identify all who knew and used it. Do you just ban the streamers with evidence, what if a streamer also didn’t know.
Would need a department just to figure out who and most likely will catch 1% or a bunch of people who didn’t know better.
If it involved steps or was more complicated than just using a skill I would agree, ban em.
Dunno I haven’t even played yet still but I put this on blizzard missing something any horker would notice the first use.
They had to do the same figuring out in world of warcraft when the same thing happened. They collected as much data as they could and banned those they knew were involved in farming. Those who did not know and were innocent bystanders got small suspensions, while those who did know received anywhere from 60 day, to permanent bans depending on how long they participated in the action.
Based on blizzards handling of the guild Exorsus’ exploit to kill mythic helya first, llamma should be banned. They were banned for exploiting a bug to get a world first kill. That is no different than this situation.
ROFL… I know Llama is considered pretty important to the game as he does pretty much advertise it via his stream
but I know for at least me and the people I know who play D2R, he’s a big part of the reason of why we don’t play ladder
I have no incentive to try and compete against someone who just uses his community to cheese the ladder every time
That’s why I HC SSF mostly, it’s too easy to organize these things I don’t even care who gets first. It’s more like a label that says I got help.
Plus in HC there is always a chance they die.
But all this happened before anything was confirmed and I hear your points. He could have dropped them. That would have been the “right” thing to do. But you’re acting like he was deflating footballs or whatever. I honestly checked in several times and he personally was not doing it. He wasn’t playing a barb. He’s not responsible for the people he was playing with lol. Even if he was encouraging it or allowing it that doesn’t matter at all. This isn’t a crime, there is no accessory. Just get over it man it should have never been possible in the first place.
Exactly.
and…
I don’t search reddit, twitter etc., I don’t even have accounts on those platforms… I come to the official website when looking for announcements.
free lightning sunder in game Forum1 region eu
Meanwhile my nova sorc has a -72 lightning sunder charm but have to put it in the stash because I don’t have griffon, 5/5 facets and infinity
Hmm
Then how about compete with other guys in top 20?
Currently he farms 18h/day TZones. Are you saying you’d be able to do the same if he weren’t playing?
Because if it’s not him, it’s someone else. Maybe a little slower but that’s what it takes. A total dedication to the game to get 99. At least he is doing it on stream so I know he is not passing his account to someone else when he goes to sleep.
So don’t act like a total dedication and help from friends/community isn’t required. If it’s not Llama, it’s someone else who organized themselves on discord or other places.
And while he may be a convenient excuse for you not to play Ladder, he enables plenty of people from his community to have full 8-man game almost non-stop.
