correct, i just see you misusing stats to defend an argument. everyone knows that a typical week of grinding those places isnt giving 2 jahs a lo and a vex.
You want an easy way to understand why the RNG for HR’s is dumb.
Because at the current rate, for self found players. By the time you finally build an Engima, You’re ready to uninstall the game, and never get to actually enjoy it.
Now if D2 has some kind of Greater Rift challenge leaderboard for the number freaks out there with something to prove. You wouldn’t have to worry about a bunch of casuals building enigmas. Because you’d have an End game that doesn’t rely on RNG Drop rates.
Face it, RNG isn’t that great of a “Meta” for a game, nothing wrong with it, in general, just the game shouldn’t be centered around that.
The key to everything is just eliminate trading, Force everyone to self find, and up the drop rates.
That wipes out JSP in the process, and eliminates botting incentives.
Truth. Using 3rd party to effectively trade in this game, is a sign that trading is dumb.
If Trading was to be considered a CORE component of the game, it would have to be done IN Game.
In game trading is a joke. In game trading would require an Auction House capable of handling HR for Items trades. Instead of the Gold for Items, or Real Money for Items only crap they tried to pull.
In fact, anyone who thinks these drops rates are fine.
You need to look at it from the perspective of NO TRADES.
Once you do that, it should become apparent to you that, IF you’re worried about increase drop rates. STOP TRADING. and you still get your “I don’t want instant rewards” outcome.
While i desagree with removing trade for those who like it (thats why ssf char is a great idea bc people who want to get rid of trade are able to do so for them)
I agree that this game needs an AH without rmt and BIN options, just bids and the highest take it
Point is. Trading is the “Instant Rewards” that everyone cries about. But they can’t see it.
You don’t think so? 15 years and never built an enigma. I don’t trade.
Now look at you “I build an enigma in 2 weeks” taders.
Who’s guilty of wanting instant rewards? Not me.
If this game is about the RNG. Trading bypasses the RNG.
So what is it?
Then if you really think about it.
If everyone is self found.
Your e-peen would actually get more worth out of showing off what you found. That’s ultimately why you all play, is so you can take screenshots of your gear. Don’t lie.
I agree with this
Trade make acquiring good loot in d2r easier then d3 right now
I personally share nothing so this is not for what i play but i get it
Again ssf should not be forced, the same way ssf should not be forced in d3
just my thoughts…if they touch the drop rates from items or runes i will stop playing.
thats the core of the game and everyone who dont want to deal with it should either go or stop complaining.
i was so upset when i realised that the droprates in d3 (for example) are so high that the game becomes boring right after a few hours…i dont want that for this game. and everyone with a little respect for diablo should have the same opinion.
IF they make the seasons from 6 months to 4 then they have to increase the drop rates, simple as that.
No they don’t. I’m a casual player, I play maybe a couple of hours a night and I’ll usually have a few good characters built with decent gear after the 2nd or 3rd month depending on how generous the RNGods are. I usually get bored and stop playing afterwards waiting for the next ladder to come.
The game can be beaten with junk gear. The godly shiny items that you crave are not required.
If you are lucky of course cause this game counts on RNG way too much, there were times i got bored of season before i even gear a second class cause of how RNG didnt favor me at all.
Anyway i personally dont care since i am a casual player the last years, i know i wont get shiny gear, but i do believe cutting by half seasons wil defo req increase the dropd rates or you will see posts way too often.
Edit: If they fix the loot table, the game will be far better drop wise, without increasing the drop rates, for example, i bored to see sigon armor from Hell Mephisto, i have seen similar posts as well, what i mean is they have to change what a boss can drop, is so frustrating to keep seeing normal items being droped from Hell boses. If want a normal set, go farm normal but not from Hell!
I am ok to see magic hell items and no unique or yellow (not in row tho ) but not normal items from Hell bosses. No i cant accept that and is bothers me SO MUCH
Mr Llama actually beat hell on a punch Barb lol. I mean I generally just rush straight through the game the moment XP uncaps at 25.
Part of the appeal of so many to this game is the fact you need to work for your reward. It is so much more rewarding to finish off that runeword and find that elusive ethereal base for your merc weapon than D3 that cant throw the gear at you fast enough. If they raise the drop rates, D2 would die. It changes the entire fabric of the game, all in the name of casuals that need participation trophies for existing.
The likelihood of me doing a trade is the same likelihood of someone winning a large sum of money from the lottery just by playing it once. I’m more than happy to play one character with entirely self-found equipment, and carry out maybe one or two trades if I’m desperate.
It’s really not that hard if you know where to farm.
Maybe they are not required. but they would be fun to have.
And that’s the whole point of playing these games, is to have fun.
When the fun stops, because nothing is dropping. The fun stops.
I’m sad that you have to require 15+ years for a self found to be able to have fun in this game. Because you think I should never get to play with end game gear.
F’ you , you’re selfish.
I usually play ladder, and I usually quit with nothing more than an insight built by the time the game becomes unfun looking for Ber and Jah runes, because of the sudden cliff they created that required any further upgrades to require those runes.
It seems to me that some of you live in some bubble where you don’t have a f’ing clue what the average player that does not resort to JSP trading goes through with this game.
At least when I start a ladder, I’m legit starting fresh unlike you JSP losers. But we have to have the drop rates catered to JSP trading. F’ THAT.
You say if you got equipment faster, you’d stop playing.
I’m saying, because I can’t get the equipment, I stop playing.
If the game would actually drop stuff, I’d be more tempted to equip multiple characters instead of giving up before even finishing 1.
Thats not including the hunt for “Perfect” gear.
But what’s the point of hunting for a “Perfect” Nothing… because the game is dropping nothing?
How many different builds are there in Diablo 2? But you can get every possible build fully decked out BiS gear in 2 hours… RIGHT?
Kind of seems to me you play for the dumbest reason possible when you think about it. “Oh I have BiS. Time to stop playing. Cause there’s nothing left to play for” Whereas my reason to stop playing is actually legit, because nothing has been happening. No progress is made for too long.
We’re not mining bitcoin here.
Bothers me also since i first reached endgame 20 years ago. Why to i need to get tons of items for A1 normal chars in A5 hell?
Also the merchants, why the hell must charsi sell normal armors and weapons with an exceptional every now and then? Usefull magical items are so damn rare due the mass of affixes and prefixes, making all of them shopable would be amazing.
This definitely describes my latest break from the game
People type: “I want it to take a long time to find things because I enjoy the loot hunt and I will quit when I randomly find the things I was looking for”
but all I read is, “I enjoy other people not having things so that I can feel better than them”
I think you are correct, MrEos, with the trade thoughts. The “I enjoy not finding things” is at a mental dissonance with “I am willing to trade for things” and most people do not realize their hypocrisy. Wanting things to be valuable enough to other people for trading purposes can make sense… but that is a different argument.
You have 2 options: play the game and hope you are lucky…or maybe you should look into other games that offer gratification according to your standards.
