D2 was supported for years without the need of microtransactions, a ton of other games as well like The Witcher 3 or Terraria for example.
Note that I have nothing against buying fully fledged expansions or spending some money on a free to play but a game I paid full price twice? That will be without me right here even if that means playing this game with inferior graphics.
And yes, WoW is an horrendous example, not only it charges you monthly but it also charges you for expansion and then it also charges you for items in the shop. I know why I left WoW and never looked back, no need to remind me.
I was a Vanilla D3 Player the Game was in ruins when it first launched way worse the then D2 Drop odds. they literally tryd to copy d2lod in a D3 setting. until they came out with Loot 2.0 and then Items rained from the sky 24/7 at end game.
But lets Be honest Here the Level of Support D3 Gets is VERY Minimal, thereâs No diversity in the game all characters are wearing Sets for end game, 90% of the time. D3 is in a Form of maintenance mode itâs doubtful they will be releasing any new content the way they have in the recent past. 90% of my friends are playing d2r NOT d3 which many of them used to be on D3âŚ
honestly if you donât have Money 4 Microtransactions it Doesnât affect you because thereâs not really a P2p Edge anyoneâs getting it Makes you Look pretty with SFX or Extra storage space. those wont make someone stronger then you tho. & for the players Like myself that can afford to drop 100$ on the game I get too support what I enjoy & I have no problem with that. Iâd Like to do that in fact 2 keep the games Support going for Longer D2Lod was In maintenance mode there was Nothing new under the sun until D2râŚ
Again, I cam have inifinite storage for free in the original D2 I bought 20 years ago, with PlugY offline and with mules and multiple accounts online.
Why shgould I pay for a service that is free on the older version again? It is not enough that I did rebuy this for 40$?
Im my opinion D3 was mismanaged from the start, it was not an improvement on what fans loved about Diablo 2 to begin with and was strongly dumbed down in terms of mechanics.
That said, the one and only expansion released sold like hot cakes and improved the game. I know a lot of players would have kept on supporting D3 if they kep selling meaningful content, noone has a problem to pay for an expansion.
As for D2R I personally hope they keep making ladder seasons but I am not interested in anything else content wise, this game is a classic remastered and thatâs what I wanted, not a new live service crap build on the corpse of a classic.
If I want to play a liver service ARPG Path of Exile is there with new content and free expansions all the time. If players want that for Diablo they should keep an eye on Diablo 4 that looks more and more like a live service game as well.
Iâm personally happy to play D2 again with prettier graphics, I would not mind having a larger stash and, a better lobby and some QoL improvements here and there thatâs pretty much it, if they go the live service way on D2R Iâll leave and never look back while occasionaly launch OG D2:LOD for nostalgia sake.
The problem here is not d2jsp, its blizzard not making a (GOOD and working) trade forum integrated to the D2R so people didnât have to go into third party sites to trade. I also disagree with allowing players to buy fg for real money. In any case if blizzard allows for this kind of system, why wouldnât they make their own system and get that cash? Since they like money so much, why let it go to someone else profiting from their games?
Okay dude. I donât know if youâre trolling at this point or straight up delusional. Using jsp is pretty much the contrary of adding complexity. Let me post âGG blood glove 10k BIN fast auctionâ and call it complex when I get spoiled and receive the right offer in a boted, multi platform and once paid currency. Now try to get the right offer in-game when the person offering is low balling you with two/three Berâs because theyâre price matching jsp instead of actually looking at the roll where sometimes the roll is so good that it should be worth 30-40 hrs. Thatâs considering the right person see your game title fast enough. Now thatâs complex. Tedious, but complex. Learning the worth of an item and not settling for less than what you think a GG roll can be worth in-game. If you think trading on jsp is complex, then youâre spoiled and probably an impatient nooblet.
theres also a game on jsp that several members have used to make massive amounts of FG. Myself being on of them. Also RLT in the donor forums is a thing as well. not by âbotting over the yearsâ However I do agree there are some that have done that as well.
D2jsp has been around for years⌠Why are you complaining? Youâre saying it has a horrible effect on values? So what should people base the item value on? Is there another site? Is it managed by the employees? The player base sets the value and if years ago people were using D2jsp to price check items they found from LOD and are again using it for D2R, I donât see the issue. When I learned about D2jsp, I didnât know anything about it nor the market value of items in D2LOD, but it did help me learn. Didnât find it on the official forums, certainly didnât learn the value from item vendor websites who sold items for real money. its the same concept with WoW if youâre gonna start comparing other game market values. Just learn to adapt and move on. Itâs what I had to do.
Because Nobody I know wants to Go back 21+ years to D2lod and Play PlugY Mods Ffs. Just because you donât Like cosmetics and Microtransactions Doesnât Mean itâs a Bad Idea it mean if your cheap DONâT buy them Lol.
As long as itâs not a power creep itâs a None issue.
I disagree I Played the Game for 15+ years Thereâs No point to rehash the same content for another 15-20 years. Something new is Imperative. & again this should be optional Because weâre entitled to our own opinions. But there 100% should be a Modern server that the game is Updated. as long as itâs optional shouldnât be an issue.
Lol Micro transactions. This comes Right back around too Micro transactions.
3 shared 1 Private simply isnât good enough None stacking runes/gems.
add in stash tabs as a Micro transaction & it fixes thee issue Only serious die hard players will drop the 5-10$ to buy the stash tabs/currency tabs.
But makes the game hella boring. Just look at D3, after they introduce smart loot couldnât bother to even install the game. All of my friends deleted the game.
Finding loot and trading made D2LOD so popular until now.
Blizzard/Activision has had what, 20ish or so years to go after D2jsp? (either way quite a long time) And they have yet to do so? (as far as I am aware) This alone isnât a big clue that, its okay? I mean, itâs no great secret that it exists. It is far from a new thing. They have had âplentyâ of time to peruse legal action if they had so desired?
Just wondering. I donât use jsp, I never have. (I stink at trading) But I have nothing against those that do. I just see it as a tool that others use and I choose not to. And I am okay with that.
Think most of the players are worried people will just Rmt the Ladder when it comes out to give an extreme unfair advantage, youâll probably know who does it within a day or two if they have enigma i bet.
Keep sitting in your games named âNagels for SoJâ for 12 hours a day waiting for a trade that will never happen.
Tal Rasha armor is expensive on D2jsp. I found a game where someone traded me their Tal Rasha armor for my Um rune. Um runes are the 1/16th of the price of the armor AT BEST. Gotta love the scrubs in public lobbies lmao
Canât even believe how people can advocate for mircrotransactions but whatever at that point, keep asking companies to take more money from you, you clearly seem to have too much.
Iâve always liked micro-transactions in PoE, the weapon and skill effects are neat!
In fact, I like them better than the rest of the gameâŚbut nevertheless, I think used casually they can be cool. Sometimes when it gets boring something as simple as a skill effect or Color change for 2$ can help.
