Players 8 for Online

If one can solo p8, one most likely has put in the effort to level up and gear up so what you say is illogical. Your argument is fatally flawed.

You definitely do not know me or my post history if you think that.

What achievement am I coveting if my goal is to solo p8 online?

I told you so. Just put them on igno and be done. Micro is always twisting and turning in circles. You canā€™t have a discussion with him. He starts flat out lying and distracting when the conversation doesnā€™t go his way.

If A>B and B>C, it is a fact that A>C. That is not a circular argument even if you call A>C a lie.

You can solo p8 naked with your fists just takes a hell of a long time and need to skip physical immunes

If they can put in tbe effort to do it naked and clear p8 solo, then they put in the effort.

Presumably, it will be time consuming. They earned their drops.

Putting in my vote, I want P8 online.

Not a jerk, but an opportunist. P8 not being allowed means you find a game with enough players and farm where you want as quickly as possible.

Itā€™s pretty damn selfish assuming someone canā€™t do something in a public game where it is both possible possible and allowable.

Games can be created with a password to block undesirables.

No you can play offline. Thanks.

I still would like to see some sort of Monster Power function added to the game, which simply increases the health, damage and density of monsters. No increase in XP gain or drops per monster. This way the player count can still work like normal, and introduce an even higher level of difficulty than the game currently offers.

Solo online players can then ramp up Monster Power to increase the drops solely from the increased density, with the added risk of taking additional damage, or possibly hurting their farming efficiency over time due to the increased health.

Another thought is to finally give the Standard of Heroes a useā€¦ Anyone who carries it in their inventory results in the increase of the monsters health, damage and density by 12.5%. Two players in the same area with a Standard of Heroes in their inventory would result in +25% increased damage, health and density of monsters.

There are many things that can be done than just slapping a /players mode online to increase the difficulty and drop rate, all while creating even HIGHER difficulty for players as a group to experience.

people who want p8, is cause they use bots and rmth.

Please provide proof. Oh waitā€¦ you can not.

Please stop with the insults and mischaracterizations of those who have a different viewpoint.

The expression of multiplayer being for xp was a big catchphrase in the pre-launch forums whenever topics of personal loot were brought up, basically stating that loot gained in multiplayer was a bonus to the main purpose of gaining experience. This was used as an argument against personal loot, which has been proven otherwise to be false, as many players use high player count games to farm loot solo for the increased drop odds as well as the fact of public botting generally using auto-loot/pick it scripts.

If Blizzard were to seriously consider adding players x online, it would need to be accompanied by an instanced loot system for partied play, as well as nerf the exp gains for players x to players 4 or 5 tops, to still encourage partied play and allow all builds a purpose, as opposed to playing simply to the solo players 8 meta.

It is more than that.

Here is an example for an item drop:

In a p1 game with 300 MF, the odds that a war traveller boots will drop from a cow at hell difficulty in the secret cow level is 1 in 1,877,010. In a p8 game, the chance increases to 1 in 715,610. Since there are 8 players, the odds on a per player basis is 1 in 5,724,880 which is 3X worse than a p1 game.

For XP:
Monsters provide 50% more experience for every additional player in the game. Additionally, each nearby party member also increases experience by approximately 34%. Resulting experience is split between party members, each receiving a share proportional to their level.

Therefore, multiplayer games are a good source of xp in comparison to a single player game with a tradeoff in drops per player.

Yes. Iā€™d still probably nerf the exp for players x, to give more benefit to party play in that regard.

Though, in all honesty, I donā€™t see anything else major coming to D2R beyond porting TZs to Offline, and maybe some small numbers tweaks/qol/bug fixes here and there. With February being the projected end of Season 2, and April being the leaked release of Diablo 4, I think most hands on the Diablo franchise will be working primarily with getting through Open Beta Feb/March through launch.

I think that they will keep D2R mostly for the hardcores and rmt folk, with occasional banwaves to prompt repurchases to keep funding the servers staying online. If we get a mid-season patch in December, Iā€™m not expecting much there either.

Heā€™s a jerk for joining a rush game to farm any other game is fine

I would be ok with that. Letā€™s call them torment level.

You mean the guys that struggled for the last 22 years and never learned how to play the game

P8 is bad for multiplayer. How can simulating other players be healthy for a multiplayer mode? It canā€™t.

I was thinking Inferno levelsā€¦ Ha just kidding. I see what you did there. Or just a 4th Inferno difficulty would be awesome tooā€¦ Triple immunitiesā€¦ I mean we have those sunder charms right? :man_shrugging:

A difficulty that is impossible solo, but possible as a team.

Not everything was bad there.
