My guess is they’ll get it sorted. Probably has to do with this live maintenance. They may be rebuilding something. Always kind of like this with game launches it seems. Similar issues with the D3 Launch. I remember… Pepperidge Farm remembers…

I was playing all morning and just had that disconnect issue plenty of others got. Just wanted to say my chars have also vanished. I’m sure it’s due to the update but bummer for now.
Hope everything gets patched up quick.
Lost all the character on my account just now.
I’ve tried US and EU servers. No chars show up.
Both my chars are gone…Blizz…WTF
I just lost my 77 sorc…and i had a lot of stuff on that character i’ve been farming a lot. This is such a failure and i cant even report it to blizzard because it sends me to performance problems they’re ignoring issues

Exact same just happened to me. Very frustrated. This is a huge problem.
Level 62 sorc gone had multiple runewords in a5 nightmare jesus christ man I’m sick of the Triple A game developers coming out with absolutely God awful game launches prior to 2015 it would be unacceptable for things like this to happen its not just blizzard its EA epic and every other company its pathetic. If this isn’t fixed i probably won’t be back although I know they don’t seem to care if a few people here and there quit.

yep i had a 60 Sorc 30 min ago, log back in after a short brake aaaaaaaand now is gone.
This thread is already discouraging, but I too have lost my character. I tried to create a new one as suggested above, but I cannot even create due to “An issue occurred while communicating with the game servers. Please check you are connected to the internet and try again”. Yep, I’m connected. Yep, I restarted my computer. Nope, still can’t play. Hopefully, this will get fixed SOON.

All my characters were deleted… yikes
Yea just that live maintenance message, they are probably just updating something. I have had my chars disappear like this once or twice already since launch and they always came back with all their items and whatnot. I would not panic too much…yet

Was playing sunday morning just fine, got stuck loading a game I alt-f4 out and load back in all characters are gone. reloaded game 6 times still gone. happened about 130pm EST during this mait time.
Was just playing said i was disconnected, then logged in again and my 2 characters are gone…
I guess there is a connection issue which can’t load the chars. offline works fine and when you try to create a new online char it will tell you it doesn’t work.
I really hope I’m right and the chars are still there but simply cannot be accessed.

Whatever maintenance Blizzard started 45 minutes ago, they wiped a LOT of people’s characters. I seriously hope this is temporary.

Yea my character is gone too seems like this is a very common occurrence i loaded i to a game left then tried to start a private game and no character to go to. I wasnt aware of an update or anything for today
Same here, game restart and no character screen. No chat either. Check your internet connection… suppose me writiong here proves that i am connected. Cmon blizzard we dit not pay get this kind of problems.
