It’s not copium, you just don’t understand what a bot in D2 does or what it takes to make a script perform inhuman tasks in a game, such as with a TASbot run of a video game. Unless the game is controlled for all of the variables to be manipulated out of them, such as with save states, a script isn’t going to outperform what a human can accomplish. Can a bot be scripted to react to the game environment? Yes. Is it going to be as clean and sharp as an experience human player reacting to the same changing game environment? No. Why is hammerdin the bot of choice in D2 for the last 20 years? Because it’s a build that almost never has to change its game plan for any given farming location.
So the advantage isn’t that a bot actually plays the game better, and it never has been. The advantage is that the bot plays the game more than any single human could accomplish alone.
Is that why bots are outperforming the top players 1:1? Nothing you claim has been reflected in the currently heavily botted D2r ladder season 3. What’s reflected is volume completely trumping skill and experience. It’s exactly what’s to be expected from bot farms.
That depends upon your metric. By ‘top players’ I assume you mean public facing streamers and their faithful troglodytes racing up the ladder. Bots/botters are not interested in that, though they would absolutely be able to slay these so-called ‘top players’ if they wanted to.
However, bots and cheaters being in the visible top ladder slots is a liability and confers no benefit to them. The bots exist for one purpose: to farm items and sell them to RMT losers. Item farm is not optimized experience gain.
the point of the game is to find items and make your characters stronger, not obtaining silly FG
the problem lies with you and thinking you need to sell everything… instead of giving it to people who will use it etc. jsp has definitely made d2 way too greedy / gimme gimme attitude.
So then you admit that a bot is never going to play as efficiently or as cleanly as a human player. Bots win through volume, not efficiency. Though you can argue that efficiency is relevant to a human operators time, and therefore a bot that performs individually slower is more efficient when used as a group bot that can perform for longer.
It’s astonishing that you claim to have scripted bots, yet you can’t understand a concept this simple. Bots have a greater yield through greater time invested, not through increased efficiency per each second invested.
Oh okay you are just trolling. That makes much more sense, only an idiot would really believe that a human player without map reveal is more efficient than a bot which circumvents the bottlenecks of load->eyes->brain->hands->keyboard->client and that knows the entire act layout on game entry as well as the position of every mob and chest on the map, parsing items in milliseconds.
Only an idiot would believe that D2 bots are running on an AI so sophisticated that it matches or surpasses a human’s ability to parse new information and dynamically adjust to react to it in the most efficient way possible. About the only leg you have to stand on is the guarantee that bots are extracting map data for farms where it’s relevant.
1st Not everything you find in game is Valuable for your toon/class,
2nd I Enjoy the Trading system and when inflation is So Bad ppl are asking for Multiple Hr’s for an Item That creates a problem for the Solo Self Found. All the work and energy you invest into playing the game to find that HR drop means less and less as time goes on and ppl ask more and more Hr’s to make a purchase.
hopefully after the valentine day sale they will do a massive ban wave but lets face it. they probably dont give a single F.
im also amazed by the people defending bots
