Item Drop rates are good enough and here is why

I am trying to say that more persinal loot in group play is not good, ploot will be guaranteed loot for noobs who dont do anything.

So lets implement a vote/kick function and a ignore list

Also, lets raise the the mob hp bonus from 50% to 100% so players would have to put efford or they will be less efficient than solo

The current system is nothing but a band-aid and we cant properly treat the problems of MP without removing it

So now we are going to change several game system just to make ploot not broken?

Only way Ploot would be acceptable in my opinion is if, You could only get the drops from monsters you yourself killed.

No
We are fixing a broken system that is d2 mp, a system that already have leeching so this isnt even a valid point

Vote kick and ignore list have nothing to do with ploot bc people already requested these features without ploot in mind

Monsters are too weak in mp compared to players power, thats why…

The no drop chance can be increased to account for this. Naturally 8 players clearing a players8 difficulty game is easier than soloing in players1, so that makes sense.

A point that was also mentioned to our fellow keyboard warrior earlier but was conveniently skipped over by them.

I don’t get what you’re saying.

If eight people in a group kill a mob and it drops one item, that’s one item. If eight people in a group kill a mob and each person gets an item, that’s eight items, which is more than the one that dropped before. This equates to eight times more drops than before.

The number one is just an example of the increase of drops given with his version of ploot. If there’s more than one person in the game, the loot raises accordingly, and each person gets the full drop rate individually.

Ploot does introduce new problems. It would be a tricky thing to implement.

So would booting people from the game. What’s to keep someone from booting other players right before the loot drops?

This is why I think /players8 would be the best fix. It’s already in the game. It’s already available to solo players in various forms. The people that want to group can still group. The people that want to benefit from player8 won’t be forced to take up a spot in a group game or spend a bunch of money to multibox.

The thing with /P8 is all you have to do is make a character really excellent at killing 1 thing and do it over and over again. A pindle specialist, a trav specialist, a cow specialist. Even if they are awful in other areas of the game it doesnt matter. You just wont go there.

Wham: You have every twink item in the game. I dont like it.

Solo SSF online though. Have terror or not. Have /p8 or not. Have sunders or not. It doesnt matter - you just cant ruin SSF online.

Exactly. The opportunity cost of farming in a team game is huge compared to a single player just creating their own games and farming on their own.

Let’s look at a cow game.

Average number of cow kills needed for each player to get 1 small charm:

In effect, by farming with a 8 player team, it takes roughly 3.5 times longer for each player to get a small charm drop from cows compared to if those same 8 players were to all just create their own private games and do the same.

Why should anyone farm in team games when the drop chances in team games per player are THAT bad?

That is why ploot has been proposed.

Yes but so does /players x. I dont want both. But still, if i would have to choose…ploot is suporting group play while /players x command support solo play. Its online mode dude, devs want people to play together. Thats the point of multiplayer. If you would be solo private for majority of things with /players x, you can just play offline.

The current system is rewarding iChaosUcows342 type of games – because team play isn’t necessary – you just need more players to increase drop rates, WHILE you don’t want them anywhere near your loot.

You do realize that game is actualy team play right? One guy is doing chaos and rest together cows.

That also doesn’t take into account people use pickit hacks, controller users have one button mashing pick up opposed to point and click, classes not designed to be up close and personal when killing occurs, etc.

That group number potentially goes down further depending on other factors.

It just goes to show that group farming isn’t effective. It’s why people like Zax join games with other people and run solo or why people multibox.

It makes me wonder, if they removed the extra players drop bonus from people that are in a full game but not with the group, would they change their minds on ploot or players8.

…if 7 people trying to leech of one another for 3 times singleplayer loot while 4 of them aren’t doing anything useful and are just trying to snipe loot and two of them are horkers is team play, then I don’t want to be a team player.

Of course you are not team player. Team player would not write something like that. You are greedy individual.

I want everyone to get better loot from playing the game – specifically, for players to actually have a chance to experience the content of the game during the actual content of the game – the story.

That’s the opposite of greed.
You want botters and real money stores to thrive, which again, has nothing to do with team play.
Team play, in total, unless split-farming, is worse than soloing – unless you’re snagging drops from under other people’s noses.
They get the impression they’re getting more loot, but they’re not.
Multiplayer gets 3.5 times the loot at 7 or 8 players, but that loot is divided between the 7 or 8 players, and is thus half the loot.
Unless you’re the quicker clicker.

I would say greedy are those who only play mp bc of the lower no drop and higher xp

They see no use for others besides providing them extra bonuses

Anyway

Unpartied mp bonuses should be removed from the game if they really meant that part of not pushing people away from mp

What the hell does this even mean? You are getting loot from playing content. If you do playthrough(story progress), you will get loot.

You are asking something game already offer.

What singleplayer games do you know of that has drop rates similar to Diablo 2 – where you cannot expect to ever see the content of the game while actually playing it as intended?

I’ll wait.
The closest thing I know of is Castlevania games, where some items are 1 in 600, but then, or 1 in 200 from bosses.

1 in 300 000 is just insanity.

Every other similar game as D2. If you want example, Path of Exile or Torchlight.

Diablo 2 can be finished with magic/rare items. You dont need to find anything epic to finish quests. Seriouslw hat are you asking for? So one playthrough will garant all items so your buikld is OP? Dude people like you who lack any kind of understanding game balance would kill game in days making it boring to play
