I don’t speak for everyone but I don’t think anyone in the pvp community here wants any pvp rewards. Just don’t want it to be drastically changed.

pvp is best in this approach “hunt the prey, hunt the hunter”
ppl who dont like pvp or know the gear is unevenly matched will just outright refuse to pvp…ppl would rather give the hunter the “nyah nyah i fled” when they dont wanna pvp…or for those with lack of game knowledge will be like “bring it punk” if they feel the big group has an advantage over 1 player
only way pvp occur is by forcing it on unwilling ppl…ofc duel rooms exist…but like…not exactly alway enjoyable…especially if its fill of whales who bought all of their gear :S…and there no thrill of the hunt…heavy bad mannering like 2 on 1…or ppl using builds to complement each other to get a huge unfair advantage
pvp scene in duel rooms is not super exciting or fun…you also cant get reactions like “wtf”…with that said…i think ppl are more familiar with low lvl char receiving absurd tweaking over the years that has pass…honestly…rather difficult to get that confused reaction of ppl getting hard kill by a char way under their lvl nowaday due to more awareness

1- so you think pvp is not a part of diablo 2 design ?
not sure why a 22 year old game have a feature too hostile other player in the interface design ? also after you kill a player you are able too pick up is ear ? and run around other player and say time too die idk i think is a very good start for a game of 22 year ,
not sure the age you have back them and what other pvp game you play , but for me diablo 2 use to be on top for pvp
It is like saying how important is HC to you. What would I have to love HC in order to say that it is an important part of D2R. I am sure that I could say that it is important to me because my fellow players love playing it. While at the same time I can then say that I have only played it a few times. Now if you don’t want me to care about others then I can see the line of reasoning for this question, although that is a sad line of reasoning if you ask me.
I have been obsessed with d2 pvp for the last 16 years man. I took a few breaks to play wow and darks souls and stuff like that, but nothing comes close to the chaotic masterpiece that is d2 pvp. No other game is even close to similar.
I linked the poll over on the d2r jsp discussion subforum so hopefully we can get a more representative sample.

And it’s not a pretend number, it’s literally half the game, since the game is made up of PvM and PvP, that means PvP is half. It’s pretty simply honestly, I’m surprised you actually thought it was a “pretend number” lol
Dueling also isn’t not intended, so…your move, even though that’s checkmate, I’m sure your brilliancy will come up with something even stupider to reply with.

I wasn’t responding to the OP because I wanted to reply to the post that I replied to in order to show the way that earlier replied made me feel. There are other threads similar threads where whatever is being discussed is not important to you personally you are frowned upon if you speak about it at all. Even though you are doing it for your fellow players.
Not so much. The best time I ever had doing pvp back in the original version of the game was when I had a lvl 9 pvp assassin named lvl9pvper. So when ever I put it to some one which was frequently…the game would msg such and such was killed by a lvl9pvper, or something close to those lines.
In this game it’s not important to me at all. However, I haven’t found a game with PvP that has been enjoyable in over a decade. I usually get my fix from playing fps games 
I was starting to feel insane from all the posts I see here and on reddit so thank god for this poll. We are now at over 40% saying it is important in some way.
Id be surprised if more than 40% of you scrubs even played d2. This whole forum is flooded with gaslighting d3 casual tourists who are here to ruin the game for the real d2 fans.
You guys better call up rhykker and get him to brigade the poll or get ready for pvp to be fun for the real players.

I think PvP is very important. I don’t play it, but I try to keep up with what items are used there, because people pay nice runes for them.

Are the rules in pvp kept if someone goes hostile on random players, or are they mostly for people who voluntarily do pvp?
If someone hostiles u outside of a gm agreed upon duel game, there are no rules and you should resort to the dirtiest tricks you know. Kill them, steal their gold, camp their corpse and nk them until they leave.
Remember they attacked you, so drop the nukes and sleep easy.

Lot of people say pvp is useless but they are happy to make a fortune by selling pvp items which no one would buy if pvp was not a thing.

Hate to break it to you mate, but you (Sexcalibure) are annoyingly loud minority. You kinda remind me of making a tea - whenever you stir the pot it always you who surface.

There a hundred better top down RPG than diablo 2. I only play diablo 2 because of the PVP and the fond memories that comes with it. Otherwise I would go play something way more modern and better.
