If the griefer is in the same level area as the players in the game, all they have to do is work together and kill the person fairly easily. If it’s someone way above the level, then one would want to enter games with level restrictions. So there are preventative measures against griefing. I get that it’s a hassle to break away from what you’re doing and try to take care of the problem, but this is in fact an aspect of the game people enjoy. I’m not of the mindset to get rid of things I don’t like when other people like them. Especially when there are already ways of dealing with it’s downside.
But again, this would be more debatable if it was a new game. It’s way too much of a fundamental aspect to get rid of in a remaster. I have no problem with adding options and enhancment of the game but changing the fundamental nature of it is not acceptable.
PK’ing without consent is a terrible design criterion. All it does is alienate those who want no part of it. I’m astonished at all the negative feedback on this.
Perhaps it’s because of anti-social morons who have nothing better to do like it. And obviously don’t mind defending in forums.
We should be looking for ways to keep players from rage quitting the game. More players = more support dollars from Blizz. And this is the 100% bottom line.
Unless, you think D2R will be perfect at launch and won’t need any patching at all…

you do have consent, you choose to leave the camp or not of any Acts, or you quit the public game you are currently in and make another game with a password.
I can see the reasoning behind ploot but to change PK is a no for me.
Well it’s a great thing that your views are shared by a slim, slim sliver of the community. This isn’t going to change. So if you don’t like it, you’re better off going to D3, where the PvP is next to nonexistent, or waiting for Diablo 4.
This is part of what made d2 so successful. Stop trying to change it. I don’t even PVP right now, but it’s super fun when u do. There’s private games available to you that prevent this entirely.
PK is not griefing. You CAN fight it back, so leave it alone.
Griefing is when some high-level character joins your fresh game and kills Andariel, so you have to remake it. Or follow you and spam frozen orb so you are not able to hit anything. This is much worse than PK. Why nobody claim about it?
I didn’t say that was your only option. you can also just wait until the PK player leaves by hanging out in the camp. You know, the starting points of any act. Just wait there, for a time, and the PK player should leave. Or just play with a game with 8 players that are all friends and or allies and you won’t have to worry about PK players.
it gets boring for the pk quick, we usually just pk to break the monotony of hundreds of xp runs. Just go to town, make a coffee and don’t craptalk, the pk will leave to have more fun elsewhere.
Micro, you may not be, but that doesn’t mean others don’t get enjoyment by being the aggressors.
I may not be a PK player, but I am not going to say no to a good fight.
In real life, there are people who find enjoyment in mistreating cats and dogs. I know that there is a certain segment of the gaming community that is toxic. I used to think that this was an incredibly small number. After watching the 2010 Blizzcon video, my naivety was exposed.
So, you just say that 7 players cannot fight back 1 player? Do you have 50 lvl difference? If so, add level difference restriction. Or… may be you play hardcore?
I only halfway meant this over the previous months, but you plooters supporting “duel” only PvP, are the biggest carebear marshmallows bent on ruining greatness.
Darksouls would never exist if individuals like you got what they wanted.
God help a DM having to put up with your incessant request for personal loot in his DnD campaign.
Seriously, I wanted to be understanding but the more I read the more I realize there is only one solution, go play D3 or wait for D4. Get out.
Because it’s part of the game. Why are you even here? Every thread I see you in, you obviously have values that go against the main gameplay elements that people love.
This doesn’t seem like the right game for you. Maybe you’d be better off hanging out with the Diablo 3 community.
