End the Greifing and make PVP a mutual agreement

Then ask on the forum?

The problem with changing the way the pvp is right now, Is that if you make pvp an “agreed upon only” system, Then you Give Those non-pvp people what they want, while completely removing the ganking aspect of the game and ruining That for gankers.

As the system is now, if you want to play multi/no password, gankers can gank, but you still have the power to password a game and not be ganked which makes both sides have an avenue of playing a way that they want.

People keep asking for a box to make the game non pvp. Thats what a password is for.

Personally, theres nothing like having someone to come in and try to gank only for them to get their sh!t rolled by my squad.

No, don’t change it.

So many ways to deal with it. Its fine - and its worse in part because its just beta.

I couldn’t agree more. It is this exact reason why I enjoy full-loot RPGs and survival shooters so much. Today’s playerbase wants all reward without any risk. It leads to a very hollow experience when you’re constantly given things without having endured any real hardship to obtain those things.

If anything, Diablo 2 doesn’t do enough to pull on my risk chains. I would love more mechanics to support diving on players and PKing them. Not because I want to make them suffer, but because I enjoy high-risk gameplay. And with players in the mix, you never know what the outcome will be.

You don’t even lose gear when you die, but to these guys, dropping an ear and having been set back a boss or time to run back to a corpse is too agonizing to bear. It’s unbelievable. They wouldn’t last an hour in Albion or Rust without panicking and having a nervous breakdown.

I didn’t know Diablo 2 was supposed to be a game where you can comfortably cruise all day in public multiplayer games without any threat of dying!

Absolutely not. There should be absolutely no way to dodge open PvP if you are in a public game. If getting PK’d bothers you, password the game. Otherwise, the price you pay to play with a large group means you have to be on guard for people hunting you.

The PK system sucks in Open Beta. There is no hostile sound. YOU NEED that sound to tell people they’ve been hostiled. Even the ‘hostility’ icon on the top right corner is more subdued than D2 - you can easily not notice it.

I’m not whining about pvp - it should remain as is is.

It’s never-ending.

Blizzard: Classic gameplay, preserved.

Plooters: I don’t like the classic gameplay of D2.

Their “solution”: LeTS ADd a tOgGLe.

:expressionless:

This is what mods are for, and what you’ll be playing.

I agree with you. BUT, they need to control hack and all and we know for sure that they wont. That’s the point.

Yeah, we definitely need the sound.

I think it should stay how it is. Every single cookie cutter game now is exactly like your asking. D3 probably is. Diablo 4 probably is. Lets keep D2 how it is maybe a symbol of times long gone, but at least unique.
It adds an element of danger, and unknown to the game that is a fundamental part of what D2 was. No private loot. The game was never designed to be care bear, but people want that now because every game today is

Were you one of the ones I killed? Sorry (not sorry), someone on beta had to fund my gambling habits.

I enjoy doing PK someties, its fun. If u dont like it u have options like restricting the level of the players in game, going to city, join other game or even be grouped its gona be a 1v4 or whatever. So it makes sense to let it how it is rightnow.

That is not true, everyone have his own opinion in every aspect. I think pLoot is good for the game but I also like pvp PK.

I played this game for a very long time darling, I know exactly how it affects the game, not only it’s ok and it’s fun, like others here mentioned, games like dark souls also employ that feature and the way to avoid it is not participating in online play and gimping your health bar in the process so I promise you Diablo 2 is a lot more forgiving in that regard and people love it in Dark souls as well

I’m for keeping the hostility function as it was/is.

But there are also some crybabies in the Dark Souls community who want to get rid of invasions. Some people just wanna have their cake and eat it too.

I actually loved it in Dark Souls. Especially at the time i just started and didn’t know what the heck i was doing. Being invaded was so insanely tense.

Seriously? Remove the hostility function in a game where it removes the ability to enter red portals and doesn’t let you enter any waypoints for 20 seconds?

I never PK myself but I fully approve of actions of people who took their time and hostiled public bot games. Now, if this gets implemented and bots are ever an issue again, it will just be a snoozefest.

To be fair, mods are dead due to the removal of tcp/ip.

Nah, nonconsensual PvP is a fun mechanic and belongs to this game.

Especially in Hell games, there are so many things you can do:

  • TP to town and just wait until they leave

  • Communicate with the rest of your party to spell-bomb the WP/entry point they have to come through and watch them die

  • TP to town, put on your PvP gear, fill your belt with full rejuvs and teach them

  • WP to a random area, refrain from killing mobs near the WP and just continue playing. Enjoy their growing frustration as they will never find you

  • Mine a WP with a mean boss pack plus some random mobs and try to trick them into WPing there. PvP builds usually are terrible in PvE

We need PvP to remove toxic players from your game.

??? Toxic players such as those that enter games for the sole purpose of griefing and PKing to harm other’s fun
