Death to Immunities, Long Live Super resistant monsters!

Sekscalibure as he enters a new area “Come to me healthbar sponges.”

Answer this please:

It is remaster of old game. Its not completely new game as it uses 20year old game mechanics.

Imagine claiming that an idea giving monsters more HP and mitigate 99% of incoming damage is making them health at sponges lol

I can live with immunities but i played also in times without. Its about viable builds. U can achieve that with various measures
… e.g.
Accepting there are only few viable builds per character. Some more builds are viable if committed only to certain scenarios.

Increase amount of viable options due to new gear or balance changes e.g. to enable for some chars better access to hybrid damage (hope this is what is currently worked on).

Put back heavy resistances rather full immunity.

Well the thing is - you can choose to do one thing and do it very well or you can sacrifice some damage in your main element to be able to overcome immunities. Then it’s no longer a wall but a speed bump.

You could cry less and experiment a bit. To be honest I don’t think this game is for you. If you have so many things you want to change go play a game that better fits your preference. This has nothing to do with being purist or not. It’s common sense.

A purist that tries to insult a guy, that has been playing Diablo2 for over 10k hours since 3weeks before the official release, by calling him a Diablo3 gamer

Lol that’s gold

Maggots lair? Without teleport, immunities make too many areas of the game is excessively frustrating. At the very least monsters that spawn in at p1 should very rarely have immunities.

It’s meant to make you dual spec.

Single spec players don’t understand D2s fundamental play style.

You’d get it more if you played HC

the main problem is duo immunity mobs. my sorc is cold/light and i’ve had to skip a number of cold/light immune mobs.

As a dual spec sorc myself,
The amount of fire/cold immune mobs I actually run into is SUPER low
And my merc solos them.

No skip

And synergy is meant to make you single spec

Which one is it… make a choice

Replace immunities with resistant monster keeping them super hard but killable

Or

Rework the whole synergy system to make it less pigeonhole

We clearly disagree and I’m not about to go into the hour long arguement where neither person is willing to budge.

We disagree

That’s fine

I’m not disagreeing
I’m stating facts lol

Immunity forces hybridation
Synergy forces specialization

Your opinions are not facts

Just like my opinions are not facts

Take care seks

I agree and it’s a good thing

Couldn’t disagree more

I mean, you’re welcome to your opinion, but its objectively wrong. For a cold sorc, synergies require like 80+ points into the Cold tree. that’s the definition of specialization.

Which is why I want “Frostfire Bolt”, but that’s a different topic.

Dun dun dun, another thread bites the dust.

Dec '21, nice one!

You’re welcome to your opinion too, but just because a synergy exists doesn’t mean you HAVE to max it.

Another toxic attempt lol

Go read the forum code of conduct… a post age is irrelevant as long as the topic is still relevant

Are immunities still in the game? Yea

Have they been changed? No

Are they still hated by the playerbase: yea

RELEVANT

Obviously you are not forced to, you are not forced to have a good build, you are allowed to play a crappy inferior build, but don’t try to impose it as a standard to others

On 1.10 they added Synergies which add on average 2-3x damage for the cost of 40-80 extra skill points

It’s not like this is just extra damage…this didn’t come alone

On the same patch they have also gave an insane amount of resists and life to monsters. Enough resist to have some reach immunities and iirc about 4x life

In then end the balance was the same… but instead of 20pts it now costs you 60-100 pts for the exact same efficiency

So technically, it’s intended by design that you max them

The crappy inferior build is max synergizing one skill then complaining about immunes.
