Doesn’t that already happen with some unique, super uniques and bosses? People can melt bosses in seconds already.
Immunities suck. That is why you hardly, if ever, find them in other action rpg games, mmos, etc.
Resistances are a good idea. Every monster in hell being immune to something is just not fun. You get to enjoy 1/3 of the game, because you end up skipping way too much content.
They make the game beatable already by not making any of the mandatory bosses immune so what is the problem? If you do not like immunity roll in a party, invest in high end gear (something to work towards otherwise game gets boring) or play on nightmare because hell is too difficult.
I don’t mind immunities if they cant be broken. If a mob is immune then let him be immune, if it can be broken then he was never immune to begin with. This would provide a even playing field and either encourage grouping or start a mob that wants to get rid of immunities
seems like a L2P issue on your side, can’t help you with that. Everybody and their grandma knows about hell ancients and what to expect. If you have garbage gear, you will have to dualspec, if you want to go solo element, you might have to farm some gear first for your merc.
This whole “use another skill” narrative would make plenty of sense…
If the current synergy system didn’t work the way it does
Hell is balanced around you using a fully synergized skill, but most skill synergy are in the same tree which means the same damage type, so not only you have less skills to spent on an alternative but this alternative is weak as hell because it’s un synergized…
It’s boring that frozen orb is one of the only alternative because it’s a one synergy wonder
I could live with current immunity system if synergy system was reworked like my suggestion of synergy 2.0 where you can synergize cross-tree and cross-class
That way the points you spend in maxing your fireball also provide synergy to glacial spike since both are projectile & aoe
hell really isn’t balanced around max synergy skills. People are just used to the kill speed of a max synergy build against non immune monsters.
You can easily spec into 2 dmg sources to deal with immunes, everything will just take longer. But it’s viable in p1.
Also you got 3 respecs before finishing the game. That’s 3 more than we had in the old times of D2 and we still were able to beat the game.
And guess what, if you are not able to do it alone (because you want your MAX DMG solo element build), you can play multiplayer and play together to kill those awful evil mobs.
How about a game adapting to the times? It’s cracks, lack of endgame content, and terrible balancing DO need improvement. If you don’t like Sekscalibure’s suggestion, offer another one.
we ever had respects 20 years ago? i remember being forced to rebuild the char from ground up if we messed up xD that includes the terrifying item transfer games
They won’t, they’ll claim it’s a perfect system because it’s all they know and don’t want to put effort into adapting to Improved concepts, they prefer to live in lacking yet nostalgic mechanics
I recently made a post regarding Cold Mastery and IF immunities were removed it would make a Cold Sorceress far too strong.
That being said, you should have options to get around immunities. Lower Resist wand is one way but, it doesn’t work on everything. Another way is Hybrid builds or, physical attackers with elemental damage but, that is another system that needs a rebalance.
This is the true problem with immunities, it’s unbalanced. Barely any magic immunes, only a few physical immunes and a crap ton of the others. Some immunities can be broken, others cannot even be touched.
Immunities don’t need removed, the system needs rebalanced.
