False as well, yes you can. Please stop, there are new players on these forums who might take your gospel as fact and get the wrong idea on Diablo 2.
The answer you seek is:
Still NO!
They cannot get rid of immunes.
End of story.
If they pass the immune thing over to D4, then I am definitely not buying.
Yesterday, I had an Super Unique (if thatâs what theyâre called) that was Immune to Cold, Immune to Physical, and four other attributes. This was on my Wind Druid, and on my A2 merc, I had equipped Infinity and I tried using a Level 2 Lower Resist wand as well. Still after attacking the monster for a few minutes, the HP bar was still at max. (just wanted to test how effective the Infinity/Lower Resist combo is) This is total BS. And I notice that often, whatever build Iâm using, there is always a unique that is double immune to both elements of that build. Itâs not always practical to skip. And having to skip and then have the damn things follow you in tight mazes is a PITA. If they have this crap on D4, then they better drop the Nephalim myth crap. A demigod that does absolutely no damage to a monster. Right!
I didnt like iron maiden in CS, as a ww barb or zeal paly you just melted your self. back then hdin wasnt even a thing really, so the paly would take a backseat in a multiplayer game and barbs used berserk. the ones who owned CS were mostly sorcs, pretty ironic too now that I think about it. you have to remember this is before infinity, and sorcs didnt cry about immunes. a paly would have to either have a bow(and many did for this exact reason), or just wait for the sorc to kill mages before they went ham. zons however, had absolutely NO issue with CS not even against immunes and were second best at clearing it(and were the best option for it aswell).
I did learn to bring a bow on paly or user zerk on barb to survive CS, but when they removed it finallyâŚwell it was a breath of fresh air. I still have memories of melting my self with a single ww or zeal because I missed a single mage and he slapped that iron maiden across my face XD
Therein lies the challenge of the game ⌠It haelps you to build your character ⌠you learn, you adjust, you adapt ⌠makes your char even stronger. Take up the challenge, donât skip. Figure out what it would take to defeat that monster and adjust your character skills. Then in the future, thereâll not be a monster you cannot beat. However, sticking to meta single tree builds with maybe a little of a second tree ⌠well ⌠youâll always have this issue. Choice is yours. Complaining wonât help. Action will. Figure it out and progress.
Lvl 99 char on solo offline - donât have any more points to allocate and Iâve maxed out all possible synergies between 2 elements the best 99 pts allows. What super powerful and obscure build might you be talking about?
With limitless respecs on Offline mode, Iâve been trying different things. Another example is how Lightning Trapsin does no damage with lightning in Burial Grounds to even the lighning immune trash, while Infinity equipped on Merc, and even after swapping to Crescent Moon. I thought Infinity was supposed to be this godly thing people dream about.
Yes, the âskillâ referenced is either to invite someone to come help with a different build, or to have another char in a multi-account setup help. And if youâre offline mode, then you are SOL and need to restart the game and hope you get a non-immune (to your build). Guess âfishingâ that is so big in D3 came from D2.
The only thing you may have to reset to complete the game, would be the Ancients.
Otherwise proper skill utilization, a good merc, and tactics, will prevail. Will it be easy with every single build? No⌠But that wasnt a consideration of this debate.
Bottom line, it can be done, and anyone saying it cant, is pure ignorance or just doesnt want to play that way.
I played an Immolation amazon to about act3 hell. It was a self found character. I got lucky with drops and at the start of hell managed to make Treachery for my merc(cold rouge). After that point progressing in hell wasnât even slow.
While this build canât dominate the whole game like a hammerdin can, it can beat hell to problem.
Oh yeah and I used arctic bow as my weapon lol
Javazon is a lightning build, and this game has immune. Why bother play a javazon if none of the above is new to you?
What are you even trying to say here? He plays it because he wants to play itâŚ
in d1, and 2 we arent full blown Nephilim yet. by D3 we are totally awakened, which is why nothing is actually completely immune to us. I doubt this will be a thing in d4.
the immunities make sense from a balance and lore standpoint. Druids, ironically, have a harder time with immunes than sorcs. why? cause fire, cold, and phys are their damge types. cold and fire immunes are common, and both usually pair with phys immune as well. this is where you will need some poison or new source of damage. how you do that is up to you. going solo is tough, and it means you will be locked out of certain areas in hell. you would have to be completely hybrid, meaning good at nothing, mediocre at everything. some points in hurricane and shapeshifting, and some points in fire. shapeshifting, you will want a weapon that deals high damage in either lightning, poison, or magic.
probably the best char to go solo on is between the barb and paly who both have access to ways to beat any monster in the game(phys damage and magic damage, along with access to melee weapons which provide element damage in worst case scenarios).
you have my sympathies, good luck findin a way
here my take on immunes
this is good to have this in the game to stop min max build also to wipe the map in 1 click ok this say
what is the most stupid is someone add item in the game to bypass immunity
making some build that break immunity , is just so bad and unfair for other build , i told you after 1,09 this game become garbage fact
He knew it before even trying. Why compaining? Itâs like I cannot beat diablo could you please let it die with one hit?
He wasnt complaining, he was saying he decided to play a build he likes, and was able to beat the game with it. Shows the viability of the points we are making. Immunities are not the problem, lazy bad gamers are.
There is no good way to get amp damage if you are not a necro or have 10 attacks a second for that 2% chance
Conviction only breaks immunities so you are still dealing with 99% damage reduction, conviction also does not do anything to poison so it is not a good solution.
Lower resist again has no good way to apply it without being a necro. The only way is to get hit and hope it works but getting hit is the exact opposite of what you want to do.
I disagree. Completely.
What are you disagreeing with? I only stated facts, are you disagreeing with facts? The only one that isnt fact is conviction breaks immunity to about 97% damage reduced instead of 99%
lower resist wands, decrep from threshers, like teleport from staffs.
