lol hes a guy thats played the game to an extensive level and knows all items down to the tee as well as the perfect mods for rares and stuff.I dont think he has really done anything but played diablo 2 vanilla since launch and never left his house

Particularly about Tal Tombs & UBER portals.
Wish the game devs would listen to this.

He’s just like Dbrunski and Llama. Anyways, he makes a great point. There are a lot of underutilized areas that would benefit from lvl 85 monsters. More variety and viability for every class since different immunities in different areas.

I’m surprised the original devs didn’t make the red portals more relevant. I had no idea where they led to for the longest time because no one ever had a reason to go in them.

Its just copied from Project D2. Its what needed to happen years ago.
Now all we need are a couple alternates to Baal exp runs so we have some choice there too.

Yeah for sure, if ladder is meant to be an exp grind, does it make sense to have just 1 designated run? What kind of areas would you like to see open for xp grinding?

I kind of like the idea of another cow portal (in act 4 for real hell cows?) where there are more champion cow packs with speed buffs, etc, so it requires more team coordination with CC abilities like warcry or boneprison (I think that would also be fun to watch on stream?), what do you guys think?

Areas I think should be lvl 85:

  • Act 5:
    A:): All side areas in act5
  • Act 4: Unfortunately act4 is too limited and it would be best for it to remain the way it is.
  • Act 3:
    A:) Great Marsh: This area has 2 chest and is purposeless (literally). It might as well serve to be used as a farming location at the very least.
    B:) All the small dungeons from Kurast bazaar to Kurast Causeway. They’re small and serve no purpose but too obtain a book that can be found in the Ruined Temple…
    C: All side dungeons that serve little purpose should be lvl 85
  • Act 2:
    A:) Maggot Lair: Considering that this is the worst dungeon in the entire game, it serve no purpose to not have it be lvl 85. I do not even see a purpose to even farm lvl 3 Maggot Lair because it’s just too far out of your way.
    B:) Halls of the dead should be lvl 85. Once in hell mode, it no longer serves its intended purpose.
    C:) TaL Rasha’s Tomb: This one is a little different for me. I think this dungeon should be randomized for which ones end up being lvl 85 and should vary between 83-85 with no actual rules attached to how it randomized, meaning you could have it all be lvl 85 or you could have none of them be lvl 85, leave it to RNG. This would create an incentive to actually farming it.
  • Act1:
    A:) All side dungeons including the Crypt with the exception of the Secret Cow Level.

It would also be interestring if all “side areas/dungeons” could randomize the monsters that spawn within them like they do in Act 5. This would make these dungeons more interesting and could possibly promote more “hybrid” character building.

Agree, good ideas. I like the idea of tombs and Ubers being 85 because more magic immunes and tight areas is an indirect nerf to Hammerdins. A more elegant way to nerf them then adjusting stats/skills.
I like everything I’m hearing and I have faith vv won’t mess this up. More variety end game is a good thing just like pd2 did.

Maggot Lair is actualy great farming location for fire ball sorc. Unique monsters on all floors drops everything.

Maggot lvl 1-2 are lvl 84 areas and not 85 which begs the question why? It’s a horrible dungeon for most to be in unless you’re the type of characters that enjoys these sort of tunnels like a Avenger paladin or a Beserker barb (for example) who excel at 1 on 1 targets. I’m just saying it should just all be lvl 85.

It doesnt matter that much, basicly only difference is that only champions in area 84 locations cannot drop 3 items from game and regular monsters too of course but you should really run only elites in locations like that.

But yeah, I would raise it by 1 lvl so i can drop Tyraels might from Champions there too and nto just from unique mobs.

They should all be lvl85 once you beat hell

he’s one of those annoying people who makes fantasy videos with clickbait titles to get more views. kind of like those folks who make “official movie trailers” for movies that don’t exist by clipping various footage from movies to make a “trailer” for a sequel that doesn’t exist.

utterly fake, just one person’s lame fantasy wish-list, but if you see it pop up in your feed on youtube you don’t see the “cooley’s suggestions” part of the title so it can look like they’re talkin about actual patch notes until you click on it. at that point, they’ve gotten the view and the exposure at the low cost of wasting your time.

I strongly believe Uber portals should be level 90 zones.
