I logged out, and the next day when I tried to log on, I was missing my sorc (offline), I tried to swap to online and back, didn’t help. Also I can see the saved files and I tried important them to the D2 folder, didn’t help. Also at this point if I try to log in on my other characters I get “Failed to log on”.
First of, NO I did not delete it, I was playing, logged out in the night, and it was gone when I came back the next day.
I have same problem / issue from about 24 h after my client was have an actualizacion. Same in my case its offline and same my character is missing and same i cant join the game … ;/ So bro you not alone … 
same here. i lost my char and all items for my all chars… now, everything is ruined…
There’s 1 guy who found a “fix” but it kinda involes installing d2, d2 lod and make your character with hero editor as you remember it, but that can’t for the love of god be the best “fix” for this problem, that we as the players have to sit in hero editor for hours trying to re-create what we lost.
that “fix” is just recreate your char by cheat program which i never dl and install it on my pc. i rather wait fix by blizz. i found my save files but can’t see my char in game. files corrupted or something i guess.
Heh good for him that he found a solution but suriestly … that is not an option for ‘’ all of us " for now - Who will no… that the alternative for classic D2 will be not a D2R but still the classic D2 and that what you call a paradox ^^ hehe … .
Same issue here playing online. Haven’t seen my character for a long while now… Tried all weekend.
tried logging in/out, switching regions etc but nothing… I created some new characters this weekend and they are still there…
There has been many characters and items just vanishing without a trace.
I contacted blizzard and they told me nupe they would not take any responsibility… even when the cause was something on their side.
Here is what they told me.
Sorry for your loss… I’m not playing until this is fixed… No fun losing high level characters at absolutely random times…
I do agree that using hero editor is not a fix, and I will not be playing D2 myself until it is resolved, and I CBA to use hero editor myself as it feels so wrong, and also feels like alot of work that we as players have to do to help a poor situation that Blizzard caused with their ill attempts to fix their stuff.
