2.3 Patch: Woooooow, look at THAT list of notes!

Do revive dissapear still?

While I would have liked to see more, I was not expecting anything major yet. They have not had ptr yet. They said AFTER ptr they would announce ladder and more new changes. Patch is pretty massive and skill bar is going to be fun. Still going to take a couple weeks off though to play through Endwalker storyline, then back to D2R.

THANK YOU DEVS!!! great update

-Cain still doesnt identify the items in the cube. That was something working in d2.
-Using mouse roller to change skills works even when you hit ESC.
-Offline difficulty setting is cool but it doesnt do anything. Typing is a lot easier. Make it persist through games.

It’s almost like they sold us an unfinished game… almost like these are things that should have been fixed in the Alpha/Beta/PTR phases… oh well, won’t matter now. I won’t be buying anymore Blizzard products anyways, glad to have it all fixed 2.5 months after released though.

Oh, I forgot… they STILL HAVEN’T FIXED THE INCREDIBLY SLOW INTER-ACT WAYPOINT PORTING. Jesus guys, what do we give you money for?

Now they just gotta fix the drop rates or maybe not fix, but make them better…

Go play a different game if you want to play a different game, this isn’t WoW where we ruin the game with constant sh*tty balancing and nerfs.

End game maps - Yes on this. Project D2 implemented this very well and it was extremely fun.

Re-Balancing Skills - Depends on what you mean by buff underpowered skills. I’m overall for this but some skills are not meant to be powerful. For example, Druid’s Arctic Blast should not be an end game skill. It’s a minor, low level spell and it should perform as such.

Mercenary re-work - This is vague. What the concern with them as of now? They perform well. The only thing I’d like to see is them be able to wear full sets of gear. Add gloves, belts, rings, boots and Amy’s to them. This will allow us to develop interesting builds for them as well as our characters. Would make for some interesting synergies.

Change DClone Spawn - Overall I say no, for multiplayer. This would de-value the anni. Spawning d-clone should remain a group effort between elite level players who can afford to sell sojs. However I do think IP information for created games should be available in game. Make it so we can type /gameip or something along those lines to display it. As for SINGLE PLAYER/OFFLINE GAMES, I saw make spawning DClone 100% guaranteed when you sell a single soj. It’s already hard enough to find soj, single player games should be able to spawn DClone every time they sell 1.

Nerf Grief - No, there’s nothing wrong with it. Although they should actually make it so griefs +damage displays on the C screen so we can have an appropriate number to work with. This will allow proper damage comparisons between items and help players gauge what is worth sacrificing when considering other weapon options.

New items/runeword - Absolutely not. It’s way too risky because Blizzard cannot be trusted to make new content for Diablo 2. They would very likely ruin the game and it’s not worth trying. Play a different game if you need different content.

New quests/Monsters - Absolutely not. It’s way too risky because Blizzard cannot be trusted to make new content for Diablo 2. They would very likely ruin the game and it’s not worth trying. Play a different game if you need different content.

New Class - Absolutely not. It’s way too risky because Blizzard cannot be trusted to make new content for Diablo 2. They would very likely ruin the game and it’s not worth trying. Play a different game if you need different content.

Change cube recipes - Seriously? Lol no. It’s not hard to get gems lol.

Lobby revamp - Agreed, it’s needs some serious polish. It looks like trash. Also when browsing games, they need to make players and game info displayed in the same screen like in legacy.

Game search filter - Agreed, would be nice to type “chaos” and see only games with chaos in the name, etc. Would make finding your desired games MUCH easier and less tiring staring at a boring game list.

Loot filter - I think this is one of those features that sounds good on paper, but in practice would actually be a negative thing. Most players already don’t realize how useful certain gear can be, that appears as trash like runeword bases, rares, etc. So they would end up only showing “elite” gear. Soon as they realize how little elite level gear actually drops, they may feel very discouraged and quit the game. Reducing the player base. We need people to see everything that drops. It gets them interested in looking at things they may think is trash and actually consider the possibilities. It makes the game immersive and keeps people on their toes.

How do I download and apply the new patch? I’ve shut down D2R and restarted it since the new patch came out, but looks like I’m still on the old patch since the new patch wasn’t automatically downloaded.

All you should have to do is open the bnet launcher. What is your reported version?

I see Version 1.1.67314

That’s the current version, you’re up to date. Previous was 1.1.67005

They keep “fixing” the game until its nothing left of it.

When they get the Global database recoded so that it can handle data from all Regions and platforms at the same time without crashing and dying. They will have a PTR soonish that has some of those fixes on it to try out. Once the game is stable, everyone can consistently play without queues, data/chars don’t get deleted, then they can consider ladder.

The bug crashing the game with ‘too many hits registering on a Chilling Armor from Fortitude + VFX Lightings set to Ultra’ is still there. I tried with DLSS on to see if it would address it, but it still crashed on wave 2 with the skellies over-triggering my merc’s fortitude, visual crash. Tuned the VFX lightings back to “High” and it’s fine. Only happens on Ultra.

No FW didnt work like that in LOD. Same with IAS those where new bugs in D2R. Now these are back to how they worked in LOD even pre LoD
