[Main Thread] Diablo 2 - Problems creating games, joining games, long queue times

Blizzard, if you’re listening, this queue problem is disheartening for legitimate players. If you are ready to share a few bread crumbs, even if it’s a simple ETA on a permanent fix to this problem, now might be a good time. It might give your loyal and legitimate Diablo 2 fans an extra jolt of endurance to push through this problem.

The “we’re working on it” response has been worn down to the nub.

Seems they reset the game but it did not do good for very long got a long queue again like they said before. I would say bots have the servers swamped with requests regularly is the biggest cause. Wondering how much server space would be needed to offset the bot demand? Huge amount i would say. I made comment about chipping in a small monthly fee like $5 or so to get more server time but one already responded negative on even $5. Costs far more for many of the new games on a monthly basis. If fans cannot manage $5 (that would amount to a lot with so many players still playing this game) I am out of ideas except for purging the bots and that would only be temporary as well. The bot users would simply get another key code

… This is ridiculous. I don’t understand the point of so much bots… Can somebody explain? It is just ruining the experience. And obviously, blizzard almost NEVER answer on these issues. This is crazy…

Well that’s easy, people use bots because they want to find the best gear in the game without spending the time legitimately finding the gear. Just have a bot do magic find runs for you while you’re at work, sleeping or whatever. Expanding on this general idea; decking their characters out with the best gear for PVE and/or PVP, selling/trading the items so they can hoard fools gold on some forum, stocking their illegal item selling shops, or simply because they can without repercussions of Blizzard doing anything about it.

The only positive outcome of peeps flooding the games with bots is that these have thoroughly destroyed the economy of sites which exploit their forum members.

If within the first few hours of a ladder reset, a farmer with bots does not sell their wares to the highest bidders, then they along with the smaller operations fall.

I do worry about the small time botters who have hopes of being as exploitative and as “wealthy” as the big bot farmers. It is sad to see people being exploited. Yet, it is equally sad to see the exploited hope to one day become the exploiters.

When I try to create games it says I’m 1091 in line… Account name is towely8. Please help

It’s not bad enough that the lines are extremely long, the game fails to create even if I wait 10-15 min for the queue to end.

Queue problem is still so disappointing, if your company is going to claim to support this game, then please do it well. Currently, this is a slap in the face to all those who love D2.

There are no rooms to join and whenever you click the join button, it says "No new games can be created right now, Please join a game or try later.

Even, when you try to create a game it shows up as position line of 600+ and it just fails to create/join game afterwards. Please fix this. its been happening since few hours ago and seems like you guys dont care.

I think that the appropriate motto here is:

“The truth which has been spoken too late is more damaging than a lie.”

:alien: :dolphin:

It has been going on for weeks - nothing gets done about it…

Why am have I been waiting for over an hour to create a game when I am (supposedly) 7th in line? Why are new/next games being promoted in chat when I have been in line for over an hour? Why does it only affect ladder characters? Who do I have to bribe to be able to play a simple game? If blizzard don’t want to support this game or realm or whatever it is, can they just say so and we can all go away…

Has anyone ever tried to get a result from Tech Support? The only thing they don’t want is a DNA sample…

Unfortunately it appears they do not care about us.

Can we sue them? We bought this game and they make us not play it!

No they can’t be sued for this problem, as the game can still be played single player.

Multiplayer in Diablo 2 is an optional way to play, which just happens to be the most popular way to play the game. Now if for example Diablo 2 was a game which in order to play at all required servers to be online like Diablo 3, then there would be grounds for a class-action suit if: 1: They continued selling the game for the duration of the problem. 2: The problem severely impacted and/or prevented the ability to play the game.

This lack of support on the game that I enjoy most, and the game that made the diablo franchise a huge success will not be forgotten.

Any updated you could give us would be greatly appreciated. This is the worst I have ever seen it. Pretty much unplayable. Thanks

I am adding my voice to ask battle.net to solve the problem about creating ladder game. We are at over 5k line up wich is around 30mins wait. Actually, this problem is only affecting the ladder. Non ladder game creation is Instantaneous. I am an East ladder hardcore player! Thank you for considering.
