No freaking way. Really??? So whatever update this was could of caused this?
Apparently this is a huge outage and tons of folks canāt access any of the servers. So, because of the countdown I saw and then this happening - canāt help but think itās relatedā¦ have not had any issues prior to tonight.
Me too!!! Wow was working fine earlier until that hard dc happened! I thought it was just me but I guess not. I thought I messed something up on my end because the dc was weird. Not a normal dc. Idk how to explain it. So I hit scan and repair and ever since then itās been a nightmare.
Yup sounds like exactly what happened to meā¦ not like we pay to play this or anythingā¦ lol none of them seem to care - no updates, no responses to anything posted.

yep having this same issues on Retail and Classic.
I just submitted a ticketā¦ I mean, they canāt even be bothered to put an update or information anywhere that they know there is an issue and they are working on itā¦ nothingā¦ cricketsā¦
I submitted one too, just incase but I honestly think their gonna give us the same answers. 
Add myself to the list please. Done the deletion and reinstall and broken. Any chance of an update in the next 30 days please or a way around to launch directly without the app?
Update for myself:
So I thought I had uninstalled wow completely but there were some steps I had missed. Once I uninstalled completely and redownloaded wow, it worked again. Unfortunately for me though, I was a dumbdumb and FORGOT to save my Interface and WTF folder, so I had to start THAT over as well. So today will be the day of me rebuilding my ui across my characters lmfao. Donāt be like me.
I am having the same problem. I have done everything and nothing has helped. Itās Blizzard.
I have a MAC. is there something I am missing ? I appreciate any help.
Iām not so sure about MAC. I have windows. I would suggest if you cant wait much longer to just uninstall wow completely, like delete all folders, all traces of wow then follow those steps listed above from Skelgarer

Try all of this. Make sure any and all folders from bnet/blizz ent is gone
Then reinstall blizz app/reinstall wow
Hello Blizzā¦I have uninstalled,cleaned,reinstalled everythingā¦your desk top app is stuckā¦your update /scan and repair are stuck in a loopā¦Please try harder to fix this situation

this problem started for me when I wanted to try out warzone, not only does DMZ force me to play in minumim settings to stay above 70 fps (for context my system specs are as follows Overview
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor 8 cores / 16 threads
Motherboard: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. MAG B550 TOMAHAWK (MS-7C91)
RAM: 32 GB
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti (8 GB)
But I did what was asked of OP and got it to install because I was getting the same error, but now WOW is trapped in a update loop where it tells me itās intitinlzing 1012, then that doubles, then that jumps to 2145581 then sits there only to force itself to reset and do it over and over again.
ngl this is way when I renew wow I take the long about way to just buy game time because if I canāt play the game why should my bank account be charged automaticly.
edit : forgot to say, this has been goning on for 5 days now

Iāve run into this issue, and none of the suggested methods have worked so currently Iāve not been able to update the game and play, very frustrating both COD and for OW2
