Eligibility Question for Rewards (WoW: WW & D4: VoH)

I apologize off the bat if I posted this in the wrong section, but I am running into a strange issue with the new cross-game promotion between War Within and Vessel of Hatred. Here is the text from the promotion on the Battle.net app, verbatim:

“Must purchase Vessel of Hatred and The War Within and link the same Battle.net account for both games at any time prior to January 7, 2025. Purchases outside of Battle.net require at least one login to Diablo IV after the purchase to link the account. Must claim offer via the Battle.net desktop app prior to July 7, 2025…”

I have a two part question:

  1. I did not purchase Vessel of Hatred; it was instead gifted to me. I do not technically meet the requirements of the promotion (and now never can?), but I believe I meet the intended spirit of the promotion. Am I still eligible for the promotion?

  2. Since VoH was gifted to me, it was not purchased on my account but it is linked to my account. It was gifted directly to my Battle.net (for PC use), so do I need to login to Diablo IV, or is it successfully linked? I ask because I actually do not own Diablo IV (only the expansion), and the promotion indicates that Battle.net users do not need to log in to Diablo IV.

These questions are pertinent to my Battle.net account and time-sensitive due to the promotion ending in three weeks. Can anyone with customer service help me with this?

If you already have a WoW account with a level 10 hero on it… why not post in:

This forum is for community help (there are no Technical Support Blizzard staff replying here) on technical issues (installation, crashes, etc…) on the Battle.Net Desktop App.

@Kalviery – what do you think ?

That’s a fair point; I will go ahead and do so. It just seemed like a Battle.net issue should be posted on the Battle.net forum, not on the WoW forum.

I know… I feel the same way too.

It’s a shame that one would need to use a “back door” (ie, a Customer Support category) to get this issue escalated. The Support system is not really geared at answering that type of question…
