No there was a hacker incident where hackers gained admin controls of Warcraft and were mass killing people in cities. Let me see if I can find it for you. They are saying it was an exploit, at the time it was believed to be Admin controls.
That is a quote from the developers during the last time this event happened, and I think people complaining should really consider that the game needs more stuff like this.
This isn’t about pvp or griefing, as the event would largely be the same if all the zombies were NPCs, but rather it is about content that actively tries to engage the player base.
I understand it may not be the content you want to do when you log in, but rather than push against it, try to embrace it and you might even find yourself having fun. Your potato farms and quests will be there when the event ends, just as they have been for years now.
Trust me, they are all gathered there. Y’know the murloc camp beside goldshire? It’s been turned into a super spreader for people that want to become zombies, every single murloc there is a zombie.
I just went there and there were a bunch of zombies leashed to the inn and they can’t hit you when you’re flying. They deff can’t hit you when you’re on the phased farm section.
Making the most out an event I personally dont like means nothing to me. For those that like it, great. The developers could have easily made this an opt in event where you have the choice without disrupting everyone else. Blizzards choice in the matter to give players the ability to render my gameplay useless isn’t fair to me.
I think more people would like it if the living and breathing thing was valid for the entire expansion and not just a small prepatch. Things, even minor things changing thorought the entire world during the expansion and not just your one main expansion continent would be wonderful. Having a mix of events like the scourge plagues and pve events like the Legion invasions would be wonderful. I just can’t get behind the world only being a living and breathing one during the prepatch.
Oh I know, obviously it should be stuff on a much minor scale but if blizz wants to represent a breathing world it shouldn’t be limited to the prepatch even if it is just minor stuff being affected during the expansion.
Alright. Have it your way. YES. I’m saying that FORCING other players to play it your way… Being able to gank other players and turn them into zombies on a server which is NOT a PvP server, where the RULES of the game that I PURCHASED said that I couldn’t be forced to play PvP, that I had to ENABLE PvP to be required to play PvP, and having those rules changed so that the game is unplayable for me for a week is wrong.
SO… YES… changing the rules of a game which I PAY FOR TIME IN so that the developers effectively STEAL MY PLAY TIME from me is WRONG.
Also… YES… griefing and ganking other players is also WRONG… and I really do feel sad for players are the kind of people that enjoy that and am glad I don’t know people like that in my real life. And I don’t really need to continue wasting my time engaging with them here, either. I mean, I’m not really in the habit of feeding trolls.
Oh… and the same goes for the players who are camping out in areas killing all the NPCs and quest givers so that other players can’t play. That is also Wrong, and that’s also part of what’s wrong with this event, is it encourages that.
Definitely not me saying that but lets face it, people plan out their game time. Most still don’t have a lot of free time. People are incredibly stressed with Covid19 so people are going to react badly.
Lets face it, when people have only a finite time of game play they can fit into their lives - any disruption is going to set them off.
Anyway I’m off to sleep now. Be safe everyone, don’t let the Zombie’s Bite.
Me, too. I was finally able to pick up my crops by flying out of the zone, and back in… because if you’re above them they can’t zerg you, and once you get to your farm, because the same instance is used for everyone’s farm, they can no longer see you or get to you (you disappear as you go onto your farm). But I can’t get to any of the NPCs except the ones which are on my farm to pick up or turn in quests. So I’ll lose the entire week of working on that reputation grind because of this.
1 for 2, not bad. It’s actually ganking not griefing. Griefing is an actionable offense and will result in bans. These are things like exploits, server disruptions and other things that are outside of the players control to do something about.
Outside of that I think the event is pretty weak. If you don’t have a heavily populated area like Moonguards Por…uhh I mean Goldshire, then the zombie invasion is going to end as quickly as it starts.
So did everyone else. It doesn’t give YOU the exclusive rights to determine what happens in it.
If a slight annoyance makes an mmo of all things unplayable for you then maybe you should check out some other blizzard games. I hear Candy Crush is pretty good and not very stressful.
Start a class action lawsuit? I doubt you’ll win because they are honoring your access to the servers you paid for.
Everything I just quoted kind of contradicts this. If anything you are troll bait.
They start at the inn, then make their way downhill to the daily quest givers and other NPC’s. Two-shotting everyone of them. I’ve watched them on and off all day. And if your not far enough in the air their “exploding corpse” will get you or the flying monstrous birds can dismount you and you land in the middle of them. I had both happen.
NO. It’s a waste of my time, and it’s stealing the time I paid them for, and forcing me to deal with something that I chose NOT to pay them for (and has pretty much sealed the deal on me NOT buying Shadowlands to boot).
