Given Echab’s facts and given how hard Blizzard is pushing Dragonflight though it’s advertising and all the hype that is still ongoing on the community side of things, it just seems to me that new players are mostly going to be playing WoW for Retail WoW. Because that’s the most advertised. Not to be confused with only advertised.
While i do agree Wrath is one of the better expansions, it is really outdated in terms of mechanics, controls, content and can be pretty slow at times, making it hard to get into. Or to play in a way that replicates the 2008’s version to a tee for some people who are nostalgic for it.

I’m not trying to be helpful. I don’t play Classic so I don’t know what’s wrong with that event but the Wrath pre-patch event was cut short because of people complaining they couldn’t turn in their quests because of people having fun with the event and playing the event as it was designed and intended. So Blizz sided with the whiners, nerfed the zombies, and cut the event short.

Blizz even acknowledged it was because of the “community” they were doing it in a post on the forum back when Wrath dropped. That’s why we don’t get random world bosses dropping in capitol cities for people to fight or weird little GM-initiated events happening like in Vanilla anymore.
i’ve been around here long enough to know that when people say “i quit”, they usually mean “pixels cause me to rage, so i’m going to make a post about how i’m very angry!”

First off, Dragonflight was way more to cater then furries. Like Dragonriding for example, which by most accounts by the ingame community, they seem to like it.

As for your conversation with Nobully, using common sense, typically you wouldn’t know who quit, because they wouldn’t be here to tell you that.
So it was too disruptive to be majorly fun for everybody or most by the sounds of it then.
If an event like that is so divisive, maybe they should look at overhauling it to where it’s not completely disruptive or have it be on a schedule, make all the zombies just mobs with no players ever becoming Zombies ever (hence making it truely PvE), or giving an actual opt out in the future, sort of like how there’s an opt out for Warmode in Retail.
Because those things are pretty disruptive? And some people just to chill out and relax because fun is subjective?

PS. It’s been proven in this thread somewhere that Blizzard lied about the original zombie event ending early too. They originally said it was unintentional or some sort of bug… and then in later announcements they contradict this completely and say that they ended it intentionally due to complaints.
